Ah yeah, here in Europe countries around the Alps are also worrying about the spring thaw. It seems like many of the Northern Hemisphere mountains, from the Sierra Nevada over the Rocky Mountains to the European Alps have well above average snow this year.

There is some wicked flu goin' 'round the US. Only this time it's just annoying.

Last year, the flu killed 19 people in CA alone....

Get well soon Blue.

Spring! Time for allergies and rain!

Actually thank goodness because I hate the cold.

Alright Cobbies, need a favor. If anyone of you have a good, credible website source for Celtic mythology please PM it to me. I've got some other sources I'm going to use, but I'm doing an essay for my mythology class comparing Odin and The Morrigan and the many ways they are the same.

[up] @Mark - stay away from any book that has "Magic" or "Magick" in the title. A lot of fluffy bunny pagans wrote and read books that would make Dan Brown blush. Did you try the pagan forum?

Ah hell, my "Army Knees" acted up today. I stood up and both my knees were in pain. My left leg hurt all day. I had to sit on a desk to talk to a co-worker otherwise I'd have been on the floor.

Thankfully some Tylenol took the edge off long enough for the bus ride home.

This sucks because my allergies are acting up as well - got a nosebleed this weekend.

I've been too sick to post, but my thoughts are with you guys.

I need to save up for a trip to Germany. Only there will I find my gothic princess. American women are too bland.

Mark, German women may be too much for you. Irish woman and Filipina's are right out- they'd eat you alive.

I'd heard about the fearsome German and Irish women, but the Filipinas? What have they done?

Taira: I'm of Irish descent on my dad's side, and Scottish and Danish on my mom's side. But yeah, it seems like (at least from what I've seen) Germany has tons of goth women, America not so much.

Actually an Irish lady would work, as hopefully she'd like drink as much as I.

Come to think of it, man I've got some fucked up and unhealthy views about life and things. I think I'm just fixated on romance as some quick-fix for the myriad ways I'm fucked up, and that's not healthy or fair to other people.

Slightly concerned I may have lost two friends by trying to help one.

See, in trying to help a friend face something immature she was doing, I got into a bit of an argument with her (read "She yelled at me for a few minutes then huffed away without hearing any of my arguments), and to my understanding, we basically broke up the friendship. That, I'm fine with. This is just the proverbial straw on an already very weary camel's back, and I was prepared to lose her as a friend over this. It's been a long time coming, really.

Problem is, our mutual friend, my current best friend, decided he's having none of that, and has elected to take a step back and keep away from us for a while, essentially because he's tired of hearing us complain about each other (I won't deny my share of guilt here, I've been voicing complaints about her for a while, and from what I hear, she's been complaining about me to anyone who'll listen).

Now, that may be a normal reaction, I genuinely wouldn't know, but I've been in a similar situation before with my original best friend, who decided that, since people didn't like me none in our school and she wanted to be popular, she wasn't going to speak with me for a while to avoid getting a bad rep. Given we haven't spoken in the sixteen years since, I'm presuming she doesn't miss me. Jokes aside, though, that made me go through six years starting in the first year of elementary school without any friends and a lot of people who had issues with me. So I'm kind of genuinely concerned about where this may go this time around.

Have you apologized to the second friend? At least acknowledged that your complaints got on their nerves? If not, I recommend it.

Regardless, you have my sympathies.

First thing I did. Even said I'd stop talking about her altogether. He remains resolute on taking some time away for himself.

Thanks for the sympathy. Both of you.

Nope, anniversary; 18 years ago MrsNinja and I tied the knot in Vegasnote .

And really, working a mandated 8 hour shift for double pay is better than last year when I was deployed for it.

I just got a G6 too. Great value with the G7 pushing the price down. I miss the fingerprint scanner being on the back, but I'm already adapting. And this has an SD card slot, which my last phone didn't.

Two phones ago, I got a Galaxy S4, which had just come out at the time. I got it under contract, and I still paid like 70 dollars for it. But I wanted top of the line because I figured I could squeeze out another year with it after the contract was over and hop off of Verizon for a prepay plan. The week before I left Verizon, I dropped my phone on the concrete floor at work and cracked the screen. I still used it for about ten months on Straight Talk, even though I was never able to get mobile data to work on it and I had to rely on public wifi to use the internet away from home.

I got myself a basic little Nokia a few months ago. Sure, it's not smart.

But, I haven't had to fork out for any repairs. And, being a CFS clutz, I've dropped phones enough to decide to go for sturdy. Because fuck £50-£75 a pop repair bills, frankly.

This little champ cost me only the equivalent of trying to repair the bleeding Samsung the last time the aerial in it bent/warped too much and the screen borked because I sat down with it in a jacket pocket.

Also, it fits in jeans pockets. And has Snake.

Oh, man, I miss my old nokia now that you brought it up. Tiny thing was nearly indestructible, and had almost everything I needed. Sadly, the society demanded whatsapp, and that it didn't have.

I had a motorola clamshell phone - black colored - back when I was in the Army. I dropped it, a bunch of 14T's (launcher platton soldiers) started playing "kick the can" with it until a sergeant told us to form up for the end of day formation. It still worked despite being kicked by 3 guys in combat boots.

I miss phones like that.
