Manga/ Beelzebub

So I felt like making a thread for Beelzebub. The anime adaption is coming in january of 2011, but The manga comes first. Any spoilers will be treated just like all the other shonen manga threads like Fairy Tail, Naruto, Bleach, and One Piece. If anyone wants to post chapter updates, and anime episodes, when they come out in january can do so if they feel like it.

Yeah, this series. It's decent. I like the way the protagonist is explicitly a fairly horrible person, but actually does anything really bad; prevents Moral Dissonance but doesn't prevent him from being sympathetic.

Last I heard, the anime was just a little one-shot thing similar to a drama CD, rather than a full series. So it's not something to get too excited about, and frankly it probably needs some more time.

The series itself is good at bouncing from seemingly serious stuff to pure comedy. while some may dislike it for always choosing the comedy route, I look at it as a aversion of Cerebus Syndrome in that the author realizes that the premise is a wacky comedy and that comedy is his strong point.

I hope the author doesn't forget that this is primarily a comedy about a delinquent boy kicking ass. To have Beelzebub succumb to the common Shonen fighting series pitfalls would be...disappointing. Anyways, looks like we have a new character with the Zebub spell, which should prove to be interesting.

Does anyone find the page six with Oga's face extremely Nightmare Fuel tastic?

The author sure can do a Nightmare Face well. I put it on that page for a reason.

I myself sees it as a Fighting Series that Keeps most of the humor intact and the actual fights with opponents worthy of fighting Oga (As well as the demon spells), to be absolutely awe inspiring.

Oh, it seems that there's both, and the TV series was announced more recently. I still think it's too early though, they'll either have to end it early or make a Gecko Ending.

There are probably gonna be a lot of chapters done before then, at least a hundred or so.

Also , the character Sheet is gonna need a massive overhaul and a bit of cleaning up to do.

January is 4 months away. That's 16 weeks. It's at chapter 76 right now. It'll be at 92 by then, assuming no holidays (there will probably be some holidays). This isn't rocket science.

Pretty close still. It shouldn't be too bad, though.

An anime would catch up in about 30 episodes.

I guess I could see it as a two season thing though.

The first season would probably end after Oga accidentally blows up Ishiyama High.

Which was a major Crowning Moment Of Awesome and a Crowning Moment Of Funny at the same time.

Unless the mangaka is bored I doubt it. To the best of my knowledge it's still doing good in the rankings. He probable just wants to have a new antagonist that has demon powers. Aren't demon's powerless in the human world without a contractor? So the new character is just introducing himself this and next chapter I think. It's not like Beel's dad is going to notice that his sons are taking a long time. He barely even remembered that Beel existed.

So Aoi knows know now about all the demon business, think anything is going to change because of that?
