However, I think that to emply the 5 in place of the letter being avoided, would be to cheat.

But that would eliminate the point! We can talk about dromopoda, which would be one level above the order of the deadly-tailed arachnid you talk of.

The thing that I find annoying would be that I can't mention the name of my favourite character in Greek mythology. In either thread for a "forbidden letter" game, actually, due to the name containing both an E and the letter we can't utilize here.

Maybe the Romanization of her name will allow you to communicate it?

Oh, but then you can employ an epithet — the favorite tool of the Greek poet! Call her "the petrifier", "child of Ceto", "ophidian-haired maiden", "once-rival of Athena", "famed Gorgon"...
