I don't know why Ellipsis spends so much page time describing what these fancy items she gives them do, and then gets rid of them before they can even use them for anything.
Was this particular item described? I looked back at the loot room sequence, but wasn't able to find anything about it.
ETA: Oh wait, I think it's the one here.
Big Ears wasn't the one wearing it then, that's what threw me off.
Okay, so it's just described as "an enchanted shield with an armour class bonus".

It looks to me that this comic is no longer about the story, but more about worldbuilding. Within that, it's mostly about more and more weird dungeons and magic items. Elli's always been thinking more as a dungeon master than an author.

I get where the artist was going for in panel 4 with the speech bubbles, but at first, that really read like it was drawn as a conversation with oneself. Took me a bit to notice the color shading, and realize that the speech stems were meant to indicate direction, not to make it the same person speaking.
I found that really weird too.
