During the investigation of recent hollers in the Complete Monster thread, it's become apparent to the staff that an insular, unfriendly culture has evolved in the Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard threads that is causing problems.
Specific issues include:
- Overzealous hollers on tropers who come into the threads without being familiar with all the rules and traditions of the tropes. And when they are familiar with said rules and traditions, they get accused (with little evidence) of being ban evaders.
- A few tropers in the thread habitually engage in snotty, impolite mini-modding. There are also regular complaints about excessive, offtopic "socializing" posts.
- Many many thread regulars barely post/edit anywhere else, making the threads look like they are divorced from the rest of TV Tropes.
- Following that, there are often complaints about the threads and their regulars violating wiki rules, such as on indexing, crosswicking, example context and example categorization. Some folks are working on resolving the issues, but...
- Often moderator action against thread regulars leads to a lot of participants suddenly showing up in the moderation threads to protest and speak on their behalf, like a clique.
It is not a super high level problem, but it has been going on for years and we cannot ignore it any longer. There will be a thread in Wiki Talk
to discuss the problem; in the meantime there is a moratorium on further Complete Monster and Magnificent Bastard example discussion until we have gotten this sorted out.

Who is the Candidate and What have they Done?
This will be the main portion of the Effort Post. Here you list all of the crimes committed by the candidate. For candidates with longer rap sheets, keep the list to their most important and heinous crimes, we don't need to hear about every time they decide to do something minor or petty.
Do they have any Mitigating Factors or Freudian Excuse?
Here you discuss any potential redeeming or sympathetic features the character has, the character's Freudian Excuse if they have one, as well as any other potential mitigating factors like Offscreen Villainy or questions of moral agency. Try to present these as objectively as possible by presenting any evidence that may support or refute the mitigating factors.
Do they meet the Heinousness Standard?
Here you compare the actions of the Candidate to other character actions in the story in order to determine if they stand out or not. Remember that all characters, not just other villains, contribute to the Heinousness Standard
Final Verdict?
Simply state whether or not you think the character counts or not.

Eh, rapes and mutilates works.
So:
- Complete Monster: The "Unknown Man" is a sadistic, pedophilic monster hunter. To find Lucy, the Unknown Man rapes and mutilates a silpelit diclonius, leaving her powerless and without her vocal cords to be used as a radar system; he is strongly implied to have brutally raped other diclonii. Hunting for Lucy, the Unknown Man tries to rape her human friend, the defenseless teenage girl, Mayu, disgusting even his fellow Blood Knight hitman, Bando.

Don't touch the Unknown Man's writeup. The writeup being as short as it is is justified by the fact he's an insanely minor villain who doesn't even receive a name proper in the series. The writeup is positing exactly what needs to be posited—"X is implied to do Y" doesn't need to be on that.
And yeah, while we're on writeups? I'm gonna throw in my hat to say "quit it" unless there's an actual reason for them to be rewritten. Fusilli I'm fine with given that's one of my clunky old writeups from before I really got a handle on them, but there's plenty more being rewritten en masse that really, really don't need it. This is only the latest case of that.

Look, I'm not trying to be an ass about anything, but if my entry was denied then I would have liked to have known about it. I don't see the entry anywhere and I have been patient. Did you not approve of it after all or something? Because it normally doesn't take this long to add an entry onto a page.

The entries get revised, submitted in a batch and then the mods have to add them....it takes time, your entry has not been forgotten, I promise you.

I would like to add another contender for the Complete Monster position in the Twilight Zone YMMV:
Peter Craig is a co-pilot during the space age in the season 3 episode "The Little People". A lazy pilot who prefers keeping water all to himself and leaving his commander in the dark. But his true descent into villainy comes from the discovery of the little people. Craig develops a severe case of God complex and shows his already tyrannical nature by stomping on a lot of the little people's houses, presumably killing a lot of them. He then forces the little people through fear to build a statue of him overnight. Peter Craig goes off the deep end when he flat out betrays his commander by staying behind and even tries to shoot his commander when he feels that he might have to share his "godhood". After his commander leaves, Craig slams his helmet onto the little people and tells them that he'll have to continue to "remind" them not to anger him
