This is the thread we use to talk things over with people who have received a suspension notice. A lot of the time the notice goes out just so we can explain how seriously we take certain things, not because we want the person to feel bad and go away.
If you're suspended, give What to Do If You Are Suspended a read, then post here to begin your appeal. We try to respond to appeals in order via batch posts every few days. If a moderator has responded to your appeal, you will receive a notification in your private messages, even if you're suspended from PMs.

Don'ts
- Don't be rude. Rule 1 applies here, too.
- Don't try to negotiate your suspension outside of this thread, such as by sending Private Messages to moderators or posting elsewhere. Such activity may be thumped or otherwise removed, and may warrant an additional suspension block if it keeps happening. All communications have to take place within this thread.
- Don't respond to other suspended users. This is a place for you to discuss your suspension, not others'.
- Don't post multiple times about your appeal if it hasn't been a few days since your last reply from us, since it makes it more difficult to compose responses. If you've posted, we're likely looking at it, and kindly request you to be more patient.
- Don't make another account to try and get around your suspension. This is called ban evasion and will get you bounced. (Again, read What to Do If You Are Suspended if you don't know what these words mean.)

At this point, I'm going to go ahead and take this opportunity to address this, though the main point of this post is to ask whether it's correct that I still can't post anywhere outside of here.
I did not, at any point, do this. The closest I came to doing this was when I got very, very snarky and passive-aggressive when a number of people started using the same arguments they harangued me for earlier, when I used to them in favour of a Communist, to, basically, apologize for Chiang Kai-Shek and the KMT.
(Well, that, and when I pointed out that the harshness of my initial tack was a kneejerk reaction because 'Stalin had a bigger kill count than Hitler' is the favoured starting line Neo-Nazis use when they try to convince you that Communism was the 'real villain' of WW 2. And then I stated outright that I didn't think that any of the people involved in the discussion were trying to do that.)

Actually, a mod said in that very thread that abortion wasn't a banned topic, it was just banned in terms of making a specific thread about only abortion. They said it was allowed within the General itself.

Hello I am deeply sorry for whatever inappropriate behavior I may be guilty of (got suspended on my first day like is that like a record) anyway if this is about the spelling errors then just know its not a language thing its simply that I am a fast typer so yeagh...I was a member of all the tropes for a while(still am) where generally if there were spelling errors or such they were editied by another user so apologies ill be more careful here there are lots of edits I plan to make but have not as of yet so I humbly request for my privelage to edit back

I was suspended and I don't know the reason. I think i did anything wrong, but it would be good if someone explained to me what my mistake was, to be sure not to do it again.

I got a message saying i was suspended from editing. i looked at the reason why and it said it was due to poor grammar, spelling, and punctuation. I suppose in hindsight my grammar can use some work at times. I guess I didn't think that was an issue considering how many typos i come across when browsing trope lists.
Would like to make an appeal, on the basis that removing an outdated circlejerk meme from the mainspace should not be grounds for an editing suspension.
There's no reasonable grounds by which one could say the MCU is playing a genre roulette. I'll grant you that they take surface level elements from different genres in order to differentiate their films, but they never take any inspiration from the tones or structures or themes common to those genres. Saying Ant-Man is a heist film because there's a heist in it is downright laughable; saying Winter Soldier is a political thriller even more so. The TV examples are a mess, especially Luke Cage and Iron Fist, as I'm pretty sure there's no way you could say they take from blaxploitation or wuxia beyond their characters originating as a way to exploit those crazes in the 70s. And whoever added Ant-Man and the Wasp and Captain Marvel is talking a load of naff, because there's not a one of us who's seen either of those films.
It's a ridiculous proposition based on a years-old piece of marketing talk, and I don't think removing it needs any sort of explanation, as anyone with eyes can see it's just a bunch of hooey.
~Gargus SCP: Well, you did remove the entry repeatedly without explaining why. We have an "edit reason" box beneath the edit window where you can put in your explanation, and a discussion page so that you can discuss the edit with people who disagree with it.

I would like to appeal my suspension. I've been suspended for quite a long time now, and the reason I got suspended was due to a (rather minor, in my opinion) edit war. (I only edited back a piece of trivia regarding Pikachu knowing a Fairy-type move on its Our Fairies Are Different section, which they removed before because it was "shoehorning")
~Turtle Tropes: Well, a minor edit war is still an edit war. I also agree that Our Fairies Are Different is only for actual fairies, not for that kind of example.
~Blood Edge 152: You have a habit of putting things in the wrong place. X Meets Y does not go on main pages, They Changed It, Now It Sucks! does not go on Trivia pages, and you don't comment on a work using swearing in an Awesome page. You also seem to have issues with making links.

Okay, I understand. I just wasn't aware that even the smallest edit war could still get me in trouble. I promise I won't try to do anything like that again.
Could I please have my suspension appealed please? I think understand why I was suspended. I added image to the Shrek Forever After page when it was marked please "Image removed per Image Pickin' thread: Please start a new thread to discuss a new image."— Which I somewhat found completely more trouble than it was worth. Since it seemed to come to more arguments that went absolutely nowhere. So I thought i could just get the heck with it and I got suspended for it. 
I now understand the error of my ways and I apologize for placing images without discussion. Whenever there's a marked image discussion, I need to discuss the image before placing it. Well, that's what I'll do from now on.
Could I please have my suspension appealed? I promise that whenever a page is marked with "image discussion thread" I promise to always use that thread from now on. Cross my heart hope to die. Could I please have my suspension appealed? Editing on TV tropes is one of my very favorite hobbies. Thanks please let me know when I'm free to edit again. And I promise to follow image discussion threads. Thanks.

After being suspended, I immediately knew the reason for it, though I waited until now to appeal as to take a break from the forums. I went overboard with warning all the discussion threads I frequented on the issue of Net Neutrality, and I understood that it was off topic. I wish to assure the moderators that this sort of multiposting of the same issue will not happen again.

If something doesn't go your way regarding a decision in IP or any sort of discussion, you need to move on. What you did—deliberately removing the hidden comment and readding the pulled image—is completely unacceptable.
This is your second suspension involving image changes. We need to be convinced that we should give you a rare third chance.
