While I don't necessarily disagree with the proposal, the whole Sonichu fiasco is one of the more infamous events in the history of the wiki, and there'll be some resistance because of bad memories and such. Good luck all the same.
A good way to deal with this would be to point to the discussion page as a place to suggest new tropes to be added or for corrections during a page lock, but unless the staff gets considerably expanded, it just isn't feasible.

Think back to how many people declared the page Absolutely RUINED when it was removed, who said the that natter was the best part of the page; think about what you're saying: "It's clean because it's locked. Let's unlock it — surely it will stay clean now."

I'm thinking that because CWC trolling appears to be passé now.
If you have tropes to add the best idea is to draft up a revision and run it by FE to see if he'll put it in place. That way it can stay locked but still get updated.

What happened is that CWC has a massive Hatedom that could not stop bashing him on the Sonichu article. They are so addicted to him that they are psychological incapable of letting neutrality stand. Which says more about the people involved than it does about the author.

I'm not sure how well you'll react to my saying this, but if our goal is to fight natter, we've lost unless we find some strategy radically different from what we're doing now (and radically different from any strategy I can think of, for that matter.) I mean, there's some form of natter, flame bait, or other unwanted content on the majority of the pages I look at, and if I delete it there's a good chance someone will add it back. We can't lock all the pages, right? Right?

Forgive me for potentially being politically incorrect, but since I know part of CWC's haters are autistics who are worried about him misrepresenting them/worried about becoming like him, and since amongst the many traits that seem to show up at times on autism's symptom roulette is obsessive-compulsive tendencies, all of a sudden the massive obsession over CWC that's shown up suddenly makes a bit more sense, possibly.
What do you think? And is this the wrong thread for me to speculate like this?

The main problem we had with it before was that so much negativity was stemming from the fact that we had so many details of Chris-chan's life spelled out on it. With the content on his life removed, I don't think the article should have that many problems with trolling — especially since his troll-base has become a lot less active of late (there's hardly anything going on at the CWCki, for instance). Also, I'd really like to add some more tropes to it.
What do you think? Can we at least give this a temporary unlock to see if it'll work out?
