I still don't see what so special about Minerva Mink. Even today, I just scratch my head at her obvious fanservice.

Hey, for a 13 year old boy a little fanservice can go a long way. wink

Yeah, sorry I forgot to mention that about the pic.

I watched Animaniacs when I was a kid, but Minerva never stuck out to my eye.

Though that may have to do with my sexuality awakening at a ridiculously old age (16 or so).

Minerva Mink never stuck out to me. So little did I think of her that when I heard people talking about her and how she helped lead them to furrydom I was genuinely confused because I had no idea who that name connected to. Then I saw a picture of her and still didn't quite understand why. Then again her form of fanservice just isn't my thing.

So things I enjoyed as a kid that could have led to this in a way...Animaniacs (not Minerva Mink related), An American Tail, the Disney animated canon that involved animals, Star Fox, Breath Of Fire, Shining Force, Tom And Jerry, Crash Bandicoot, Sonic The Hedgehog, Loony Tunes, and other things I am likely forgetting to add.

Ahhh An American Tail! I can't believe I forgot about that one. I think I made my mom take me to see that about eleven times when it first came out in theaters.

Do anime-style cat girls count as Anthros? If so, I would be remiss in not mentioning the Puma Sisters from Dominion Tank Police, which was also my introduction to anime at the tender age of 16.

Typically cat girls and their related ear and tail wearing brethren seem to be considered as separate.

I wonder if wandering in here will harm my interep. Ah, who am I kiddin'

Greetings. I've never considered myself a furry or anything like that, not that I haven't been accused before. Though considering I have two stories with wolf people and one story where the entire main cast is anthro of some creature, so there is some sort of pattern.

I'm a semi-observer/participant. I like the art mostly and I'm simply curious.

Oh, no, Runic didn't post it here in this thread, I think it was in the PSL thread in Yack Fest. I was just letting you know who was responsible for the Pure Win. waii

The blue color makes me wonder... but then again, strange colored fur is nothing new in the fandom.

... Hi. New to the troper forums but not to tv tropes or furries. And well... I identify my furry side as a fox. Or fursona if you prefer. I'm also male, straight, have a girlfriend who is also a furry (she has a bit of an case of changing from wolf to cat to hybrids...) and I have a pet cat who is like a child to me. Meaning he can be as frustrating as one at times, but still he is my little pet kitty.

I dunno what else to add there so... Well just ask anything and I might awnser.

I like anthro pictures (particularly the tattooed, badass, and heroic ones), so apparently I am some kind of furry.

And speaking of which, what are some good examples of what I mentioned above?

Thanks Kerrah! ^.^

And yeah kracknut, I guess you have furry tendencies, even if not a full-fledged furry. But I can't think of a tattooed badass furry example. Best bet to find those would be through sites where indie artists upload their work. Just have the filter on if you want to avoid possible squick.

But wait, how can a furry be tattooed? Ok, so a fur PATTERN might resemble a tattoo, but c'mon... Fur paint?

BTW Kerrah, how do you get a link on your custom title?

I thought up a way to do fur tattoos a while back. It involves a certain Indian herb called Indian Coleus, which contains forskolin in the roots. The compound forskolin produces a tanning response when applied to skin, and darkens both skin and hair as a result. An application of this would darken areas of fur as well. It would have to be reapplied every few months, though.

I don't know about "tattooed badass" but I know a group of furries who shoot at a privately owned range elsewhere in this state, so that's one out of two. Two out of two if you count the tattoos some of them sport.

Anyhow, welcome, Kuro.

Umm, I didn't think he meant furry fans who are badasses, but characters, Goggle Fox. xD

But that indian herb thing sounds pretty cool. So it works for skin too and isn't permanent? Sounds like I might wanna try it sometime... Unless it has anything to do with sharp objects and inflicting pain.

I'm not sure how much of this is a furry thing. Seems more like a pet-lover thing, because my wife and I also think of our pets at times as "our kids."

It also makes you a Pretty Cool Guy, in my book. =)

I didn't mean that it's a furry thing exclusvely. But yeah, I'm pretty much a lover of all animals. Insects don't count in my book as animals however. Nuisances, vermins and animal food at most.

Insects are totally animals. They are adorable little dears and I cry when I accidentally kill one...I am most fond of crickets and roaches. Cute little buggers. I want a few roaches as pets.
