The page image is just a face and a caption: Oh Crap

Yeah, I think we have a definitive list of things that really are that famous. Not sure where we keep that.

And even then, it tends to be extremely broad. I think it's unwritten to keep people from adding stuff they think is sufficiently well known.

There is such a list of "characters that we can assume most people will recognize" we settled on somewhere. These are the three I remember:

• Jesus
• Darth Vader
• Superman

I think we also settled on Batman. And maybe a few others. This does not mean that Supermans Favorite Color is valid.

Here's the thing. The "Oh Crap" trope is simply about the character giving that final moment of recollection that screams "I'm so absolutely dead now."

In my opinion, Quattro's expression of utter horror right before receiving blessed laser death speaks volumes of what this trope is about. Is it Just A Face? Yeah, it is. However, in this case it works.

I like the Quattro picture myself. I vote it stays.

Yeah, I'd say that JAFAAC doesn't really count here because this is basically a face trope. The ultimate criteria for page images is whether or not they illustrate the trope, and the current image works fine.

Just A Face And A Caption refers to when the caption is required to explain how a particular character applies to the trope.

Quattro's expression of dawning, pants-wetting terror clearly demonstrates the trope, and is thus not Just A Face And A Caption.

Indeed. I think the default is keep the image unless there is consensus or a solid reason to change. I don't see consensus or a solid reason to change.

Yes, I think both of those posts are agreeing with you. You said it perfectly well. They are the same thing but worded differently. Also note that similar sentiments have been expressed for the whole thread.
