Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I’ve said it before, but of the PS One FF games I feel like VIII would be the most interesting remake especially since timeline altering shenanigans would be much more fitting for this one.
Other than that, V all the way.
Also, heads up that Intergrade just went up in Japan so look out for spoilers
V and VI should be done in HD-2D like dragon quest III.
Watch SymphogearEspecially V - the generally light-hearted tone will suit that style.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Thwn After that, Chrono Trigger and Live A Live.
Watch SymphogearLive A Live could do with more love. Banging soundtrack.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.Considering Octopatch was influenced by Live A Lives structure of Protagonist stories, it would be full circle.
Watch SymphogearBeat Bahamut in FF 7 R. I didn't consider the fact that unlike the later Shinra combat simulator fights he could be fought at any difficulty, so I fought him on Hard. Got it on the first try, though it felt much more like a battle of attrition and stat checks than any real strategy or execution, which was a bit boring. Maybe it's my fault for skimping out on damage (no Fury Rings or Tifa) in favor of security (Lifesaver tank Barret is godly). Only have Monsters of Legend and Top Secrets left for the optional fights, so I guess the Bahamut Hard practice might come in handy. Then again I might just go for speedrun strats to deal with them without giving them a chance to retaliate — I like the combat, but doing that fight over and over doesn't sound fun. After that the only thing left would be to do all the chapters on Hard for the manuscripts, but I'm not sure I'll bother after the miserable experience that was chapter 11 (Haunted, the train graveyard) on Hard. I really fucking hate artificial resource scarcity.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I legit asked this question like 5-10 pages ago. Don't you steal my thunder.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Red looking siiiiiiiick.
Never thought Jessie would ever get an action figure, that's for sure. Her popularity definitely exploded. (Relatively speaking).
Turns out being unabashedly thirsty for the MC and getting a chapter practically all to herself help a girl's popularity.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Bravely Default is Final Fantasy at this point
Considering Symphonia followed X...
Life is more fun with infinite MP.No kidding? Man, X looks like it skipped a generation graphically.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.I was more referring to the similarities in their plots.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.X feels like it took some of its costuming queues from IX
New theme music also a boxSpira humans are created by pyreflies merging into a pile of clothes.
-Witty line-That is a terrible shape for an ice cube.

Trans rights are human rights. TV Tropes is not a place for bigotry, cruelty, or dickishness, no matter who or their position. You could say that it's the perfect Finishing Touch to a drink.
-Witty line-writing up my review for ff7r and looking up some boss guides to refresh my memory, and I can't help but feel "maybe it's me who sucks, not the game" sometimes.
Dopants: He meant what he said and he said what he meant, a Ninety is faithful 100%.Naaaaah, Stagger is a terrible mechanic that should have died with FF-13, mercenary sidejob filler character missions are bogus, Tifa's sports bra offends me, lack of Red XII playable battle dog is nonsense, F-ckboy Hojo disgusts me, making the plot into Sephiroth's Fix Fic was a terible idea and the best part of the game was the extremely homoerotic dance scene that they spent way too much money and time on running up several flights of stairs because your nostalgia forced you to.
Gameplay and visuals are tight though. 9/10 game of the year only because there's a better version of it coming out on that console nobody can find anywhere.
FFVIIR sucks conceptually. If it were any other game with fewer iconic scenes and characters I imagine the reception would be less positive.

Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).
I never had problems with the voice acting in ARR because I stuck with the Japanese voices all the way through. It is interesting to see things like Alisaie's Dub Personality Change, though (she was made more combative and her voice actress is more aggressive with it, mostly).
It's been fun.
