Because Kinkajou told me to.
So yeah, anything about Final Fantasy! I guess this would make a good starting point: Which are your favorite games in the series and why?
My two all-time favorites are tied between Final Fantasy V and Final Fantasy IX. They're both very fun games that don't take themselves too seriously while still being legitimately emotional. On top of that, Zidane is my favorite Final Fantasy lead in the entire series. He's light-hearted, fun, and a generally nice guy to be around. FFV also has the advantage of having one of, if not the best, Job System in an FF game. Both FFV and FFIX make characters customizable while keeping them all unique in their own way. I'm also very fond of Final Fantasy I; it hasn't aged well, but it's classic, and like FFV, I played it tons as a kid.
I assume we'll drift around to various other FF-related discussions as the topic grows, right?

I made that edit, mentioning the news and people's general reaction to it (Well, people could always check the edit history).
But I'm stoked that so far I was the only one to make an update based on the recent news.
If anything, these events shows us some things. First, how just fucking out of touch with reality Square Enix has become, cancelling plans for a game that actually sold real well. And second, it showed us the current state of the gaming industry and the actual end result of the "release the incomplete game soon, complete that game over time" policy which I always hated.

Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...Speaking of FFXVI, am I the only one who thinks it's secretly under development?
Hopefully it'll be done...
The-Spoilers
and Yes they went there

So... I take it they're using the expansion to extend the ending quite a lot.
Growing up, it's like a civil war, don't turn away, it's something you can't ignore...IDK Doesn't seem to bring up the mirage clone thing
He is only mostly muscle
Also the bonus boss fight in the bonus dungeon is ****ing ridculous

Sarah!!!
Mileena MadnessNow here's a game where extra content is very much welcomed. I'll probably replay Wo FF once I buy the expansion.
You know, I'm surprised Troy Baker wasn't in FFXV. (Or FF in general)
He was in WOFF to my shock.
Mileena MadnessOh, hey.
He's in pretty much EVERYTHING nowadays.
I mean, he was Snow in FFXIII Trilogy. They generally don't use the same V As for main characters.
In fact, they often seem to use lesser known talent for main characters. Established V As I've been hearing forever are relegated to bit parts, like Mary Elizabeth Mc Glynn being Hope's mom who is alive for all of five minutes, or Simon Templeman being one of the less important Judges in XII. In contrast, I have never heard Sazh, Hope, Fang or Vanille in anything besides XIII stuff. Only Snow/Troy and Lightning's VA, also Liara from ME, I know of from other stuff.
You don't hear Yuna, Auron or Lulu in much either so far as I know.

Yeah, FF V As are usually either one hit wonders with but parts elsewhere, or its their Star-Making Role, though there exceptions, of course.
Troy Baker as Snow is extra wierd since it’s pretty much the only Japanese media he does anymore, so SE must really take care of their own.
If there’s anything I can be grateful to XV for its putting Ray Chase and Robbie Daymond on the map.

PSN ID: FateSeraph | Switch friendcode: SW-0145-8835-0610 Congratulations! She/TheyBarring the A-list Hollywood talent they land sometimes who even their deep pockets can't consistently get back, I don't think they recast characters unless they absolutely have to.
The entire 30-40ish English cast of Bravely Default, barring exactly one person, reprised their roles in Second.
Who was recast in Second?
I remember Kamiizumi having a different voice in the demo, but then his original voice in the main game.
Oh, wait, it was Braev, wasn't it?
Edited by Hobgoblin on Nov 8th 2018 at 8:36:43 AM
Braev Lee.
At first most sources were saying he was voiced by a guy named David Sobolov, but this wiki and most other sources are now saying Braev's Default actor is unknown. Either way, he's someone else in Second.

What do you guys think of using lesser-known V As in Final Fantasy?
It's no problem for me A lot of other games like Persona or my beloved Xenosaga sound essentially like anime dubs. You hear a lot of the same voices. That's not really a criticism, just an observation. FF tends to be a bit more unique in that thee are new people and that's cool because more people are getting work.
Plus Vanille's VA was awesome.
I only have a problem with VAs if the developers are insistent on getting celebrities and then modeling the characters after them. It is never not distracting.

This song needs more love.I just want a good dub and localization. FFXII's was brilliant and we've never had anything like it since.
Prompto's V Agot a double wammy. His role as Tuxedo Mask gave him a good push, but then FF and Persona 5 happened to put him on the map.
But yeah, it's good when C-list VA get the recognition they deserve.
XIV's is on par with it. Maybe not quite as good but starting with Heavensward it's about as close as they've come since.
And it's done by people I've never even heard of, no less!

Song of the SirensThe VA in XII is so distinctive because many of the cast were stage actors with no prior VA experience.
Vayne is Elijah Alexander's only voice credit.
Life is more fun with infinite MP.
But hey guy is starting his own company, others may follow in an exodus
New theme music also a box
