On Characters.Cool Cat Saves The Kids, there are several characters described thusly:

  • Cool Cat: Politically Incorrect Hero: In Fights Coronavirus, Cool Cat and his friends (who are girls, incidentally) taunt Dirty Dog for "throwing like a girl". He also tells the girls at the end to respect other people's opinions on the coronavirus.
  • Angela: Politically Incorrect Hero: She insults Dirty Dog's aim by calling him a "sissy", a word historically used to demean gay men and gender non-conforming individuals. She also doesn't wear a mask in public.
  • Britney: Politically Incorrect Hero: Apart from the aforementioned "girl" line, she pulls down her mask during the rap scene, even though she acknowledged the dangers of being unmasked moments ago.
  • Dirty Dog: Politically Incorrect Villain: Dirty Dog tries to throw a water balloon at Cool Cat since (most) cats hate water. He also seems to have a low opinion of pro-maskers calling them "sheep" and refers to the pandemic as a "scam" without so much as a hint of irony or self-awareness. He also randomly calls a black child a "punk kid". On top of that, he's a slaveowner.

Do these count? I always thought Politically Incorrect Hero and Politically Incorrect Villain were about things like bigotry, not spreading disease.

For every low there is a high.

Yeah, I don't think any of these examples count. Bearing in mind that Cool Cat is intended to be children's media, it sounds like a tremendous stretch to say that any of the characters not wearing masks — which is basically just being unhygienic as per a typical Disease-Prevention Aesop — is political/partisan in nature. It's not any more different than kids being brats who don't wash their hands or clean their face after eating.

As for implying that Cool Cat is apparently misogynist and Dirty Dog is racist... come on.

I smell someone with an axe to grind violating the Rule of Cautious Editing Judgment (and I say this as someone who got jabbed multiple times and never stopped wearing masks).

The most charitable interpretation is that it's conflating "politically incorrect" with "stereotypically conservative".

Weren't these same examples brought up on a ATT thread?

I wouldn't say not wearing masks is politically incorrect per say. Expressing certain opinions on COVID is though. In my experience people usually use the term politically incorrect to mean things that they aren't supposed to say. The textbook example used to be words like fireman or postman. Now it is words like woman.

Dunno what you're going on about, nobody considers "woman" some sort of dirty word. But I digress.

^^ Um... no. COVID is a health issue, not a political issue. In praxis of the narrative, the work isn't saying anything more "political" than "wash your hands so you don't pass germs" and having a character defying that isn't some kind of moral commentary on partisan behavior — it's just showing a bad guy in a shallow movie made for kids.

It shouldn't be a political issue, but for a few years there it was made into a political issue.

But these characters who are doing things like not wearing masks, they're not doing things like ranting about "liberals" or blaming Asian people for COVID — there's no evidence they're politically motivated.

[up][up]And I'm sorry, but to my knowledge, Cool Cat doesn't do anything that makes it complicit in that sort of bad-faith discourse. The logic is just as crummy with everything else claimed by these entries, which is like seeing a boy go "Girls Have Cooties" and shouting "MISOGYNIST!!"

And keep in mind we're talking about Cool Cat of all things; someone not wearing a mask is meant to be as cartoonishly evil as someone like Butch the Bully bringing a gun to school. No political implications are intended, just basic lessons like "follow COVID guidelines" and "don't bring guns to school".

Now it's true that even COVID has become political, but that's more because of the sheer polarization of modern politics; it just so happens that the sort of people who often fought against COVID guidelines were also politically conservative, at least in general terms.

Removed the entries on account of all the stated points against it being "political", with little to nothing about saying why it is (probably because I can't imagine anyone arguing out loud that Cool Cat is politically-charged without realizing how ridiculous and exaggerated it is).

Poltically incorrect words aren't dirty. People have been other words or phrases instead of women for a few years now. A famous author made fun of it and the fallout is still on going.

What does poltically incorrect mean in this context?

[up] As per the trope descriptions of both Politically Incorrect Villain and Politically Incorrect Hero: bigoted. Are you willing to argue that Cool Cat of all characters is bigoted?
