I question redirecting the A24 show's page to the web pilot's page.

Maybe when we see more of the A24 show, we'll do the thing where we have one folder covering the tropes both of them use and two others for the show exclusively and the pilot exclusively?

Again, I really doubt Viv will require newcomers to watch a potentially non-canon pilot on a different platform (YouTube) to understand the official show.

I didn't have to ever watch the Adventure Time pilot to understand the plot and yet all the pilot's tropes are listed on the main Adventure Time page, with all noteworthy discrepancies being covered by Early-Installment Weirdness. We don't have separate pages for pilots or other specifically pre-release material anywhere on the site, really.

Plus, wasn't Villainous a Web Animation before switching namespaces? Isn't the only reason that Western Animation/Villainous Cartoon Network exists because there are substantial differences? And why are you assuming the pilot is non-canon anyway? It's officially designated "Episode 1—'That's Entertainment'" and details the events of all the characters meeting, like a pilot or first episode would. Someone clearly jumped the gun at formatting here when much simpler alternatives could have taken place, like moving stuff specifically for the Pilot to a Recap page for the show proper.

There's the fact that the web animation thread shares its content will Helluva Boss. Having one here dedicated to Hazbin Hotel should help keep things a bit less cluttered.

For those talking about the "non-union actors" thing, it could have been a stipulation with the publisher. Maybe A24 is ok with non-union, but maybe the publisher wasn't.

It's been theorized that one of the reason it took awhile to get a trailer is because the show was originally at HBO before the whole Discovery/Max merger and the show might have lost it's publisher for awhile.

If that's the case, it's possible HBO wasn't down for non-union gigs, but that was before things were re-settled at Amazon. Or maybe Amazon in general wasn't down for non-union actors. It's all speculation.

From what I've heard, it's generally up to the studio on whether its okay if a union work has non-union leads. I've heard some people claim that Vivziepop just wanted an excuse to cast Broadway actors she liked, but there seems to be a subset of people determined to badmouth her for any real or perceived failings, so I don't know.

But she's been casting Broadway people in Helluva Boss...? That seems mostly unrelated to the union/non-union thing?

Good question? His stuff is usually western animation and western-made video games, but I think there are times where he'd pop up in an anime under a pseudonym. (I distinctly recall him being in an episode of Dragon Ball Super.)

I’m pretty sure HB is union, unlike HH’s pilot.

I'm definitely curious as to what character interpretation of the Devil Vivzie's Lucifer will be. We know he's evil but not totally evil given his hinted at Parents as People dynamic and being Happily Married to Llith. I hope he serves as the cynic Foil to the optimistic Charlie

I always thought Alastor would be the cynical foil to Charlie.

For some reason, I'm expecting some of the characters we meet in heaven to be LGBTQ, mostly to show that neither heaven nor hell in this show discriminates based on orientation, just behavior.

Weirdly enough, I prefer the old poster for showing more characters.
