So this one is basically pure revenge right? Like no matter how John tries to frame it.
Fan-Preferred Couple cleanup threadYeah while he claims its a 're-awakening' this one looks like it will be motivated by spite and anger on John's part.
Very justified anger...but not necessarily a justified response.
The First manConsidering the scammers have probably scammed other people before, I don't really think it's revenge. Even if they didn't scam Jiggy they'd probably end up in a trap because John seems to know everything, like how he knew Anna killed her baby and blamed her husband for it despite him not seeing it happen in Jigsaw.

1, I love how passionate the cast is about this franchise.
2, I love how John has had the next year of his life planned down to the second and uses all of it to become a serial killer.
3, yeah I don't think the Freudian Excuse for John is much debated anymore. On some level he sincerely believes it but nobody in the audience believes in the Jigsaw Killer's actions.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Looking forward to seeing Tobin bell return as one of the coolest horror villains in the genre.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."So they couldn't go more than one movie without going back to Tobin Bell? How confident these people are in their ability to tell new stories.

Wait, this movie is an Interquel to Saw and Saw II? Hopefully they won't retconned some timelines.

“What is that? It's The Unknown!”Well, with the new Saw coming out the same day as the new Paw Patrol movie, they’re trying to make Saw Patrol a thing on social media, like the next Barbenheimer:
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.I can see this going much more poorly than Barbenheimer. I feel like Five Nights at Freddy's would be the much more compatible partner.
It's been 3000 years…Call me crazy, but I don't think a dark and gory horror film and a movie made for literal toddlers are going to have much audience overlap unless you're a really fucked-up parent.
Disney100 Marathon | DreamWorks MarathonGonna be hard for people to root for Jigsaw when he’s murdering adorable puppies…
The Owl House and Coyote Vs Acme are my Roman Empire.Is that a fanart?
I love animation, TV, movies, YOU NAME IT!Obviously.
"Diametrically opposed films juxtaposed" is going to become a Dead Horse Trope very quickly. Barbenheimer happened organically and worked as a one off, attempting to force through other examples will kill the meme on its ass.
I'm interested to see Saw X but I'm not sure how much it can really add. We know Amanda (also returning here) winds up an apprentice, and that both live for 2 more films. It's possible that this film could develop a little stuff relating to Saw 3D, specifically with Gordon becoming Jigsaw's other secret apprentice, revealed only at the end of that film, but their actor has indicated that they have no current involvement in the franchise.
So it's going to be a self-contained chapter between the two films, that will probably end up creating continuity issues for its own sequels.

It's Dr. Gordon, not Adam.
Just released for Americans (and possibly other countries) today. It's also the first Saw movie to get a Fresh rating. Finally.
Well, I don't follow Rotten Tomatoes or online reviews in general, but I suppose that's good for this film at least. I wonder what they did differently.
Akira Toriyama (April 5 1955 - March 1, 2024).Saw X focuses mostly on John Kramer for the first time in the franchise's history, and thus it's much more focused on character work than the mystery and the torture gore like the others.
It's been 3000 years…Wow. Uh
Certified Fresh at 86% on the Tomatometer, with 80 reviews. It's the highest rated in the franchise
That's uh impressive. Guess just having Tobin bell cut loose as John Kramer for once is a recipe for success.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."It is pretty impressive hearing of this films great reception.
The First manHello, I have question about the ending of Saw III. Could Jeff have defeated John's last trap if he:
A) had severed Lynn's collar with the circular saw he used to kill John;
B) had taken the key to the collar from the Amanda gunned down by him;
C) had broken John's heart rate monitor with the same saw;
Could he have won? And if he still couldn't, then why?
Edited by Kuprin on Nov 4th 2023 at 8:44:47 AM
For A, I don't think so since the shotgun collar looks hard for a saw to cut through.
For B, if he could think straight and not get filled with revenge, maybe yes.
For C, it sounds possible, but considering this is Jigsaw, he might have another heart monitor hooked up to him just in case.
Also Saw XI has been announced.
Wonder where they're going with this, would love to see Dr. Gordon back again. Maybe expand on his character and history with Jigsaw.

I've heard it's going to be a direct sequel to X, possibly even following up the stories of surviving characters from that film.
I don't see any thread on this horror franchise so I created one. Anyways, we have the Saw X trailer now.
Hope Dr. Gordon or Hoffman will return since we now have Amanda in this movie.
