I really do not like the meme sound version of the whistle.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."Meme version? :S
I smell magic in the air. Or maybe barbecue.I mean this version of the whistle.
It sounds wonderful, very eerie.
Optimism is a duty.ngl for a moment I thought he'd whistle the Old Spice jingle
I wonder why the choppy animation style worked for The Last Wish, but didn't for The Dragon Prince, when they tried doing it for their first season back in 2018? Execution maybe?
It was intentionally limited during action scenes, and had precise moments during said action.
This movie saved that animation style for the fight scenes while animating the dialogue scenes normally.

It's been 3000 years…This and Spider-Verse also both combine it with some incredible camera angles and exaggerated posing and a painterly rendering style that gives off a "moving illustration" vibe. The Dragon Prince's was trying to emulate the look of a hand drawn TV series specifically, but ended up looking stiffer and awkward since it was animated more like a traditional CG series at a lower framerate.
So it was execution. I can't help but wonder what it would look like if it tried again taking inspiration from Spider-Verse and Puss In Boots?
The choppy animation makes action scenes easier to follow. At a normal frame rate, motion blur would obscure most of the movement, but at a lower frame rate, the brain can process the images better.
Meanwhile, The Dragon Prince also used choppy animation for the non-dynamic scenes too, where it just made it look more fake and cheap.
Honestly, while I really love the stylized frame rates in the fight scenes, it still feels jarring to suddenly change framerates between scenes. I would prefer having the entire movie be in the choppy style to keep the consistency (kind of similar to Spiderman Into The Spiderverse).

Spider-Verse didn’t have a consistent style, it changed the frame rate between scenes and even had characters move on different frames rates from each other in the same scene.
Oh right, I often remember that movie as having more choppy, or at least less "fluid" animation
I actually prefer the fight scenes in The Last Wish a little bit over the ones in S Pider-Verse. The use of slow motion in some scenes (like when the Wolf cuts a table in half or when Puss fights the Bakers' Dozen) makes the scene much easier to follow, at least in my perspective.
oh hey how are you doing? The film's being re-released at AMC Theaters, as a part of their Summer Movie Camp event (coincidentally sponsored by DreamWorks Animation's two upcoming films this year). At participanting theaters, the film will be shown from Wednesday, June 24th ($3 w/tax) through Saturday, June 28th ($5 w/tax).
Also the framerate "choppiness" is limited to character rather than scene, like in the riverside fight. The baker's dozen were moving in low framerate at the background while Puss and Kitty were moving in regular framerate.
Someone in this YouTube comment said it best.:
Death is an antagonist in the movie who is abusing his powers and he knows it. I know Puss needed to be taken down a peg but Death is overstepping his bounds.
"We are just like Irregular Data. And that applies to you too, Ri CO. And as for you, Player... your job is to correct Irregular Data."I mean Puss did also go out of his way to piss him off by wasting nine lives (which given how Death reacts to Puss, means he doesn't goes after those who do value their live(s)) and was well on his way to get himself killed in a stupid manner for the last time before Death unwittingly scared him straight. Like, Death was content to let him waste himself away at first until Puss' braggart attitude and narcissism about his nonexistent invincibility was too much to handle after dying in increasingly idiotic manners every time.

"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Also, did Death show up to the final battle late because he had to pick up all those unfortunate patissiers along the way?
Death only showed up when Puss' life was in real imminent danger (hence why he didn't chase him down whenever Puss took shelter in Mama Luna's house or cowed away from a battle), so he got a nice passerby soul fest and took his final chance to deal with Puss
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."Well that was disappointing, Dreamworks didn't post a happy birthday greeting to Wagner Moura.
I just saw a You Tube short about Jack and a comment made on the short that I subscribed to:
- The short goes into how the unicorns pulling Jack's carriage were kept in captivity after having their horns ripped out as babies.
- Thr comment goes into how Jack is a caricature of Disney (large empire, taking fairy tales for their own use, and wanting all the magic/media for their own greed).

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."Even the use of the wishing star is a dark reflection of Disney, given how iconic the song "When You Wish Upon a Star" has become for Disney.
Disgusted, but not surprised
At this point people just call him who he is without even bothering about spoilers lol
