I thought the three days was so we wouldnt get a flood of eps all the time. I think its done a good job of that so uh I dont see a need to change it.

Plus three days is as noted. A really nicely long time for the more strenuous discussions to reach a conclusion.

Also, also, three days let's someone be late to the conversation (within reason) and still have a voice.

It's also the time period that areas like TRS and most other project threads are bound to.

Looking over the Former Complete Monsters page, I'm seeing several were cut for being "too similar to [the original version]" but to my knowledge that isn't a disqualifying feature anymore — at least not if it's a work in a different medium. If that's now the case, shouldn't the entries that were cut for that reason be restored, or at least re-examined?

My personal opinion I dont think an extra 24 hour waiting period needs to be necessary if the candidate a 5 over the number of after three days given that the 72 hour period is pretty long itself

I was referring to a 24 hour period after the 72 hour mark has ended

No one is suggesting we bring the 24 hour wait back.

I saw Mirai Yukon post “Oh right, the news rules. If we're still going with 72 hours, we just gotta wait a bit over 24”. They said it in the MB proposal thread

G... He's talking about an EP that was 48 hours old and still needed 24 more hours until the 72 hour voting period was up.

While I'm for keeping the 3 day period for now, I do think we might could consider bumping the "active works per troper" limit up from 2 to 3. Now that we're back in the swing of things and have cleared a lot of the backlog I don't think it'd be too much of an issue to increase that by one while still maintaining the three day rule, myself. Plus it would be nicely matching for "3 active works per 3 day rule"

I'd be in support of bumping it up to 3 works.

I'm fine with moving it to 3 active works while keeping the 3 day wait. The threads are going at a steady pace now and nothing is really getting missed.

I think that’s a great idea!

We shouldn't automatically restore any entry, they might have other issues as well, just maybe put something at the top of the page about how being too similar is no longer grounds for DQ-ing a candidate, like how we got rid of the taste rule or fanfics being too different from their source material and so if someone wants to re-propose them they can do the normal process

So, something along the lines of:

Similarities between different versions of a character is no longer grounds for the disqualification of a candidate. If someone wants to re-propose a candidate that was disqualified for this reason, please do so on the Proposal thread.

But yeah, I think amending the active works to 3 per troper should be a perfectly serviceable update to the rules thus far. The 3 day rule keeps things in a good flow already.

I am fine with the 3 day rule as well as bumping up the number of active works per troper to 3, but I don't think there will be a lot of people having 3 active works at once (besides Lighty, Scraggle and Ravok of course).

Okay so with the majority of us agreeing to increase the limit from 2 to 3 works per trooper, we just have to wait for the mods to respond and see if they will make it official (that's what I think)

I think it's been a decent enough time since the idea brought up and enough majority in favor that we can update the OPs to three active works. Mods, could you see about updating that on each thread's OP in the Ground Rules segment where it mentions how many active works? Under bullet point 1, the sentence "...each individual troper should only be proposing or writing up characters from a maximum of two works at a time..." can just be amended to read "three", instead.

I did that but hollers are a better way to get our attention because there isn't a guarantee that we are going to actively follow a thread.
