Yeah, Miorine REALLY underestimated how much Prospera wants revenge.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.Despite his rough beginnings in the show, Guel is now a fan favorite for many who watch.
So popular in fact he wound up being featured in a live-action show, a J-Drama.
I think people started liking him after, like, the third episode. He didn't stay as an unrepentant jerk for long before the Jeturk losses started stacking up constantly.
Avatar SourceHis fanbase definitely grew after the 3rd episode established that he was more than just a one note bully and the rest is history.
A lazy millennial who's good at what he does. Can't say I have ever liked him to be honest. He's just a pathetic dude.
Where there's life, there's hope.I mostly liked him for the memes up to around episode 9, sympathy after the universe keeps throwing him into horrible situations and genuinely rooting for him during the earth episode.
But I'll be honest, let's stop this before this ends up another argument like every other time Guel's popularity gets mentioned.
A teaser image for today's episode was posted.
God help us, she's off the couch again.
I think that's what some people like about him.
Avatar SourceHis adventures as Earth's hostage were what finally turned me around on him, and his status as a knowing and consenting pawn in Miorine's scheme has interesting ramifications. He's pretty compelling now. I've always found hating a character for shipping reasons to be silly and immature, and at this point he's apologized and shown himself to have genuinely turned a new leaf so I can't see any reason to continue genuinely despising him that isn't related to shipping or the fandom as opposed to him as a character.

Not calling anyone out specifically here, but part of me feels like any "hatred" for Guel is mostly down to insecurity and a severe case of Die for Our Ship. Otherwise, he's a pretty solid character overall.
You can't really dictate how the audience are going to respond to certain characters and getting upset about that is simply irrational.

A lazy millennial who's good at what he does.I have a weird opinion on Guel. I do like his arc but he's also just so punchable.
But I do sympathize with him to a degree.
I can't tell if I like him or just his story.
Though like Alley Oop I think right now I can say that I like him in a semi unironic way now.

I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult. He's my cute stupid little boy, I truly do cherish him. I like most of the kids though but Guel mostly stands out to me because I initially snubbed him because I thought his design and mech looked meh in the previews. He's also had a goodish 2 episodes so I'm waiting for the catch.
I absolutely cannot help but adore handsome 2D boysMan Shaddiq really don't know how to play like the higher chessplayers.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.I expected more subterfuge to be honest, but then again that would out of character for Guel.
Speaking of our of character, I don't exactly remember #5 being this passionate about someone else.
Demi-Barding is missing it's backpack, wonder if the second pilot theory is legit. So like is Pom-pom head an agreed upon nickname for Chu Chu by the school?
So I guess Shaddiq wants a conflict between the Assembly League and Benerit? I guess that's why he outright just admitted to everything while he was broadcasted to everyone? And reveal he was hiding Norea in his basement? Um, I don't really get Shaddiq's plan here?
I'll be honest, I really don't like the Norea and #5 shipping moment to be honest, and it's really just angst fuel for her death to be more shocking. Just like Petra's death. What's the point of both besides giving motivation for #5 and Lauda?
Well that was dark. If you thought the ending of the last episode was bad, this episode made it worse.
To distract Guel and his allies from finding Sarius, who is the key witness of Shaddiq's connection to Dawn of Fold, by transporting him on a escape ship, Shaddiq and his squad not only fight Guel and his forces, but they also unleash a deranged Norea, who just witnessed the recent events on Earth from the news and wants revenge, who proceeds to pilot her Gundam and her Drones to destroy the school. Cue students getting hurt or killed during the attack including Petra. Elan 5 manages to stop Norea's rampage going further by convincing her to run away with him, only to killed by one of the Dominicus suits.
Rip Norea and Petra
Having seen this week's answer, I can offer (hopefully acceptable) answers to some of your questions.

Elnora did destroy those mass-produced Lfriths so I see that even if he fails, he can count on someone else to stick it to Elnora. Sadly, that will get Benerit to move against the SAL.

I can imagine Elan-5 x Norea was to be a love letter to the original Mobile Suit Gundam, specifically Kai Shiden's doomed crush on Miharu Ratokie.

It was more like a reverse Kamille and Four situation lol.
The three finest things in life are to splat your enemies, drive them from their turf, and hear their lamentations as their rank falls!I mean, last episodes were showing that El5n was getting feelings for Norea and felt sympathy after seeing her notebook so I'm not surprised he's suddenly caring for her to risk death.
There really was only one way Norea could have ended this episode, by dying. There's no way people would be fine with her after doing a massive school shooting with rich Spacian kids as victims.
I'll teach you a lesson about just how cruel the world can be. That's my job, as an adult.See what happens when you leave the couch, Secelia? And goddamn, this episode wouldn't have been out of place in Victory, wouldn't it?
I didn't really see him developing feelings at that moment, at best it was empathy due to her breakdown. Maybe if I actually know anything about his past I would be more willing to accept it, but as it is now, the relationship really needed more time to actually develop than just minute long scenes of them stuck in the basement, which unfortunately there isn't enough room for it due to the limited number of episodes.
Yeah at this point I was glad Kenanji sniped Norea. I pretty much have no potential sympathy for her. I get she had a tough life but attempting to mass-murder a school is beyond pale. At this point killing her was a necessity, like putting down a rabid dog.
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Another thing to comment on: Miorine's greenhouse was wrecked when the fighting in Asticassia started. Wonder how Suletta will react to that?
Also, I can't help but ask, do you think that Shaddiq unleashing Norea knowing that she would go on a rampage count as a MEH crossing on his part? Personally, I think it does.
Very much. Earthian or not, Shaddiq could have come up with something better since he got to learn the ways of the Spacian. Sadly, thinking about Miorine was what helped doom him.
For all Prospera manipulated Suletta, she never planned for her to be endangered like she implied to Miorine. Once the duel brought Aerial's Permet Score up to 8, Prospera had neither a desire nor a motive to involve Suletta anymore.
If Miorine refused, Prospera would have taken Aerial and used her the same way without Suletta. She just needed some other Benerit group head (like Guel) to be a Fall Guy.
Prospera could have kept Suletta under her thumb to get at Miorine some other way, but she'd eventually want to separate them before her intentions for Miorine inevitably turn lethal.
