Elektra is currently on the hand page.

Also I just noticed that MCU Inanimate Objects was created. I haven’t checked the byte count yet but I know there’s been a whole issue with troping objects.

First off: I apologize for believing that Marc Spector was in the Marines. The MCU wiki is truly not 100% reliable despite the cited sources. To this day it bugs me that they did not specify which US military Branch Marc was officially a member of, unlike in the comics where he was in the Marines.

Secondly: The "Innanimate Objects" page is currently at 91,172 bytes. However, that causes the "Others" page to be at 32,253 bytes.

I think "Others" should be excluded from the 40K rule. It's literally the page for characters with no other place for them. Unless someone wants to figure out what to do with the LMD's and the Framwork.

Also I thought Moon Knight was in the Marines too. It'll probably be clarified once he appears again and it goes more into his past, especially once Bushman is introduced.

Also on an unrelated note, should Helstrom be added the MCU pages? It's listed as such on both wikipedia and the MCU wikia.

[up] If you allow me a little time, I'm sure I can expand the LMD section and the Framework section to make them both over 40K.

[up][up] Word of God confirmed Helstrom was separate from the MCU the very day of release; there are two Looper interviews with the showrunner and one of the two main stars linked on the main page saying so. I'm not sure why Wikipedia and the MCU wiki don't reflect that, but I've looked into it fairly extensively.

My issue isn't whether Others is big enough (as you say, it's basically the leftovers, I don't see the point of a length requirement there), but... should any of the inanimate objects even have character tropes? I know there was a discussion on it that seems to have fizzled out, but now it's gotten to the point that they have their own page and that's... probably not good

I honestly don't know why we have them?

Their not alive (as in what you know characters are). These tropes could just go on the main page?

Could we possibly split all the objects and sort them into the Cosmic, Dimensions and Deities pages? Given how much significance they have in each film I feel that makes them characters in their own right.

Significance does not equal being a character. That'd be like saying Harry Potter's broomstick is a character.

Personally, I don't see the problem with having character folders for objects. We have plenty of tropes that apply to objects, so giving objects their own folders seems perfectly logical to me.

Yeah but their not characters?

You could just put those tropes on the main page?

I mean we do locations and organizations, why not objects? I also don't see an issue with it. People like troping things, especially high-profile items like the infinity stones or gauntlet.

In fairness I'm pretty sure we're not supposed to be troping locations as characters either

Yeah its looking like a pain. I let the thread that was supposed to figure this out know whats going on, but who knows If that'll go anywhere.

Idea - perhaps the Infinity Stones should receive their own page, and certain tropes that only apply to certain stones (for instance, Animating Artifact only applies to the Mind Stone) should be moved to the respective entries on the individual stones?

For one thing, it might streamline some of the character pages for certain movies (i.e. on Captain Marvel (2019), we only need list the Space Stone instead of listing the Infinity Stones as a whole with Space (Tesseract) in a footnote).

This is only a suggestion, feel free to ignore it.

I think we can keep the infinity stones within a single folder. Just give them each a subheading.

Maybe we should actually figure out if the weapons can have character pages before we make even more weapon-based character pages?

I would be inclined to say weapons shouldn't have character pages. They can be integrated into the main trope list, or if they're associated with a single character, integrated into that character's page

This thread was not leaning towards giving them entries unless they are sentient or treated as sentient, so no, don’t do that just yet. I would rather that discussion be revived and a firm policy decided on before more page splits.

Yeah, there's a difference between, say, Stormbreaker acting like a jealous lover in the new Thor movie, and the infinity stones that aren't given any character.

I think that having the weapons and other objects belonging to the characters in their own separate folders makes it more convenient to keep track of the tropes that apply to the various features about the characters. Adding the objects' tropes to the characters' folders would only make their folders more cluttered for no good reason and make it harder to find the tropes that specifically apply to their objects. Honestly I see nothing but positives in having folders for the objects and I don't see any reason not to have them, if it's because it's against the rules then I think the rules should be modified so that we can have the most convenient solution.

Yeah I don’t see the harm in it. The only thing wrong about it is that it’s technically under a character namespace. But people trope locations and organizations too so why not objects. It’s makes thing cleaner.

On a unrelated note calling them inanimate objects seems weird to me. How about artifacts or relics?

These questions and concerns should be brought to the other thread at this point. I really don't think we should be doing anything further to the objects on the page until that thread actually rules on what to do with them.

I mean, I'm pretty sure that thread isn't the one that they were talking about because there's a chat somewhere specifically about whether or not objects should be troped like characters. (Also you can just check back yourself and see if anyone is responding...)
