Suggestion: Dark Messiah

I have a suggestion for the page Dark Messiah. The picture is from "The Apotheosis of Hoche"◊, a political cartoon by James Gillray.

I think the halo and putti illustrate the "Messiah" part well, while the halo being a noose and the putti being decapitated heads illustrate the "Dark" part well. Plus the guillotine.

If that doesn't work, there were suggestions from the previous Image Pickin' threads that might work. I liked this◊ picture from Carnivàle and this picture from Death Note.

Neutral; either 1.1 or 1.3 works.

1.3 is my preference.

I'm surprised 1.3 is so popular ... ok maybe not since Death Note is pretty popular.

But I'm kinda worried that it doesn't illustrate as well as the other two do.

Well there might be something else from Death Note that works better?

I can generously see "leader" but not messiah there.

I agree, 1.3 is not illustrative and I watched the anime. It's just someone posing coolly against some creepy imagery. If I had to pick something from the suggestions so far it'd be 1.1 but I'm not really in love with it.

I tried digging into ImageLinks.Dark Messiah for alternatives but this is the best I could find:

I think the first is too close to The Antichrist and not sure if the second illustrates well enough

I think 12.2 works well enough if we can't find anything else.

Ooh, I like the V for Vendetta one.

I'm torn between 1.1 and 12.2.

12.2’s pretty good. You see this guy celebrated despite all the destruction he seems to be directing, and the Dark Is Evil + Malevolent Masked Men look adds to it.

Prefer it with the title, the presence of the word 'vendetta' does hint towards some sort of grand agenda.

Much better. It looked like a poster with that text.

I prefer the logo-less version.

21 version
