Uh...someone might want to tweak the caption in the game's TV Tropes page.
I searched for the game's page in the search engine and I might've become at least partially privy to the game's big twist.
RE: Japanese collector's edition: Hold up, it gives you a card game and a model kit?! How often do you see that in the collector's edition of a video game?
What, the one demon bit? I guess it's not something immediately obvious from the outset, but all of the chapter bosses having similar names makes it not much of a surprise, and there's much larger twists involved
Square Enix has the model kit by itself up for pre-order right now. It gets shipped in October.
I mean not everyones played/seen a lets play of the original. The remake will be many's first time experiencing the game

"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaMy point exactly. I mean, the caption isn't bad by any stretch of the imagination. It's just a bit spoiler-y.
Maybe for now, we can use "Legend is Alive" since that's what they used in the announcement trailer in the Nintendo Direct? (I mean, I admit it's grammatically weird, but it's way less spolier-y, I think.)
And since I'm here, yowza, the HD-2D series is making waves, isn't it? We see it for new games like Octopath Traveler and almost immediately we're seeing remakes like Dragon Quest III and now Live A Live, which until now has never ever been released in the States. Even crazier is that recently I learned the director of the original Super Famicom game would later direct Chrono Trigger and Parasite Eve.
(On that note, if this and the Chrono Cross remaster sell gangbusters and Chrono Trigger gets the HD-2D treatment, I got half a mind to bet that the Internet will implode in on itself in excitement.)
Man, I think I learned about this game from this very website too. Crazy to think it's gonna be back in the public consciousness in a big way.
I decided to play the original version to prepare myself since I feel like spoiler dodging will be extremely hard. So far I've beaten Prehistoric and Sci-fi.
HD-2D Bahamut Lagoon and Treasure of the Rudras would be wonderful, too. That entire era of Unique artsy Squaresoft SNES RP Gs deserves to be more well known outside of Japan and Fan Translations.
Hell, do a whole HD-2D collection of the Illusion of Gaia, Terranigma, and Soul Blazers due to their shared connections as well.
In the meantime, the Character Trailer is now in english:

Watch SymphogearGod, when megalomania kicks in i just get shivers
"Have a good day. Have a good week. Have a good month. Have a good year. Have a good life." ~CiviaJudging by the trailer, Square-Enix considers the existence of the Medieval chapter to be Not A Spoiler. Which is pretty weird, honestly.
De Romanīs, lingua Latina gloriosa non fuī.Its pretty out of context, making it look as generic as possible and doing their best to cloak a certain someone in dark energy as to not give away the demon kings identity.

Watch SymphogearIt'd be better if he wasn't yelling who he was.
I'd also point out regard The final chapter not being a spoiler, considering Oersted is kind of the breakout character, appearing in other medias referencing the game like Final Fantasy Legends and Theatrhythm Final Fantasy, that boat has long sailed.

re: Medieval chapter not being a spoiler, I do think that "You will repay my loyalty... in death!" kind of gives it away that there's a betrayal in the works. One of the translated versions of the original had "Continue your apologies... from the bottom of the abyss!" as the equivalent, which I think is a bit less spoilery.
So, let's hang an anchor from the sun... also my TumblrWe rarely see a main villain be playable let alone see his fall from grace in a jrpg.
Mileena MadnessChrono Trigger gets the HD-2D treatment
I don't think Chrono Trigger would really work in the style? It adds a level of abstraction that really goes against CT's feel
HD-2D Bahamut Lagoon and Treasure of the Rudras
Bahamut Lagoon was definitely my first thought for a follow-up if this does well. Good chance to add in some QoL features and make guides less mandatory
Treasure of the Rudras might be tricky. Even ignoring the difficulties in translating the spell system, the game is massive and highly detailed. And not very good Not sure how worth the effort it would be
I learned about this game a while ago, spoilers included, and was disappointed that there was no feasible way to play it. So this news was really good for me! Knowing the spoiler just makes me more interested in playing it to see exactly how it plays out.
I AM SO EXCITED, OMG OMG OMG, LIVE A LOVE IS BACK EVERYONE!!! THIS GAME IS ALIVE AGAAIN!!!!
ME HUMING THE MAIN THEME AGAIN
Ok,ok, I return back to earth, I am really excited for this, I almost abandoned all hope for this to happen in my lifetime but here we are!
Live A Live was a great game for me and is one of my favorite games of all time, being there up with Super Mario Galaxy and Fallout. Now I want to see them improve on the old game and how they are going to make it longer, since you can beat the game fully in less than one day. To match up with the price they need to make it significantly longer or I will not buy it, since the OG is in my emulator.
What do you think about this? Is it ok if it's as short as the OG, or should it be longer for you to buy it?
Personally I'm in "cautious optimism" mode. I think it'll be good, but by this point we all should know better than to board the hype train so readily when it comes to videogames. Especially videogame remakes / remasters.
Squeenix at least has a pretty sound track record on this front, so it's unlikely we'll get a disaster like the GTA Trilogy remake.

Disgusted, but not surprisedYeah, they need to be faithful to the original as well as add new stuff in it. If it ends up as long as the original then there is no need to buy it.
They need also to improve on the gameplay a lot and this time need to balance the heroes out or the final chapter might be not as enjoyable as it could be.
I have faith that Team Asano (who are handling this game) will be able to update the mechanics to be more enjoyable. And apparently people have been seeing UI changes and stuff from the original in the trailer footage.

*cough*Secret of Mana remake*cough*Final Fantasy Pixel Remasters*cough*
(otherwise in "cautious optimism" mode myself though, but most likely going to wait for reviews and/or sale)
wait people think the Pixel Remaster OSTs are bad????
I did say "pretty sound" and not "flawless".
Disgusted, but not surprisedSquare Enix's track record for remakes is like...is it for a console? Then it's probably at least okay. Is it for mobile? Then all bets are off. Probably just the oddest bit is how they go through waves where they'll have a string of crappy remakes and then suddenly swerve and have a bunch of really high-effort ones that are really good, or at least accurate.
The Mana remakes so far have been like...Adventures of Mana was fine (not amazing, but it was fine), Secret of Mana was extremely underwhelming and Trials of Mana really was a full remake top to bottom, and Legend of Mana was more of a remastering. There's also their work in remaking/remastering the Saga series.
Not Three Laws compliant.I found Trials of Mana's remake to be very Meh. Putting aside that it has the production quality of a game 3 generations back, the occasionally painful voice acting, the almost complete lack of a difficulty curve, I wasn't found of how of all the mechanics NOT to revise, it decided to keep the original's "Classes are locked behind random drops" and "You got no way to respec except for an item that drops in the literal final dungeon"
Many years ago, this very website taught me this game existed. Let's see, is the old entry still there?
Ah yes, "the best battle choice box in gaming history".
