Are we sure he’s Master Mold? There was an image of Nimrod when Rogue read Gyrich’s mind, but I can’t recall any hints he’s a fusion with Mold like in the comics.

Maybe, but Beast and the X-Men being upset is also understandable. I don't think Beast was mad at her specifically in any case.

"They truly were a Aqua Teen Hunger Force"The reporter, Trish was Beast's long-time love interest throughout the 1990s, E For Extinction, which they're adapting for this, is actually where their relationship ended.
Trish ditched him for the sake of her career, Beast brushed her off by saying "oh btw, I may have been gay the whole time"...
...Yeah, a lot of E For Extinction shows it's age nowadays. Don't know how they're gonna approach the Xorn stuff (and the ending does indicate they're going there), 'cause that's aged worse.

He's definetly someone they've fought before and the audience has meet. That convo with sinister would ne kinda bizzare if this was a new guy to the audience
Now of course this could mean he's a really weird choice like sabertooth or Graydon creed. But I kinda assume they'll use his comic basis here since this show is usually faithful

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."I mean, yeah, he's obviously a returning character. Like I said, we get a quick but clear glimpse of Nimrod. But I don't see any indication Master Mold is involved, and it might be easier to have him just be an evolved form of Nimrod from after the events of "One Man's Worth" rather than a convoluted "got merged with a Master Mold" backstory.
My guess would be Bastion is Nimrod, here framed as an Evil Counterpart of sorts to Bishop. He comes from a future where mutants persecuted and destroyed machines and has basically come back to try and prevent that future just like Bishop came back to prevent a future where machines persecuted mutants, and he takes the form of Bastion to better blend in. It would be a good way to cover the Bastion stuff while also adapting the sympathetic Tragic Villain Dark Messiah aspects of Nimrod from the comics, which kinda got ignored in his previous appearances in the show.
Can someone please explain who or what Xorn is to the uninitiated please…?
An X-Man who was revealed to be Magneto in disguise. He went super terrorist, died, was revealed to actually just be impersonating Magneto, came back, had a twin brother who took his place on the X-Men and I think is dead again now?
Average Grant Morrison X-Men plot, really.

Xorn is a character introduced in the Grant Morrison run. He's a Chinese zen monk with healing powers and a star for a head, forcing him to wear a metal helmet, and a charter member of the X-Men. He's also at the center of one of the most ridiculous Armed with Canon fights in Marvel history.
See, the idea with Xorn in Morrison's run was that he wasn't real. The big twist of that run was that Xorn was actually Magneto in disguise - the "star for a head" stuff just being an excuse to conceal his identity in a way that would prevent Professor X from reading his mind - as part of his latest plan. This led into the climax of Morrison's run, in which Magneto attempted to take over New York and the X-Men had their big final battle with him, culminating in Wolverine killing him.
Problem was, a lot of people - in Marvel and outside it - freaked the fuck out about Magneto being portrayed as actually evil and doing the exact things he'd been saying he was gonna do for decades and people at Marvel immediately began scrambling to try and retcon it all away. The resulting panicked retcon was a complete and utter mess involving twins and drugs and all sorts of shit, with the end result that the current canon is that the person in the Morrison run was basically Sublime (another villain from the Morrison run) impersonating Xorn impersonating Magneto impersonating Xorn, and also Xorn has a twin brother.
Nowadays this is increasingly ignored as much as possible in the comics, with most modern stories that refer to the Morrison run seeming to lean towards the much more sensible implication of "Magneto kidnapped and impersonated Xorn but was under influence from Sublime", but the original retcon has never been explicitly decanonized. The Xorn brothers are now just regular members of the X-Men/mutants who's gimmick is being badass monks.

As you’ve now read, Xorn is complicated.
Another thought on today’s episode:
Bastion may have legitimately destroyed Charles dream and killed any hope of Mutant/Human co-existence. Even the X-Men seem to have given up on it to some extent. Track finally got what he wanted, but only after not wanting it anymore. This is truly the Darkest Hour for everyone.
One Strip! One Strip!, & Ok, thank you to you all for your help, much appreciated!!
Now the question remains; How did/does the ending of the latest episode tie into the “Xorn”/Magneto mythos/story arc…?

On the plus side, the Xorneto nonsense did bring us X-Men: Death Becomes Them, and from there, Floating Hands' other delightful X-Men fan-cartoons:

If I had to guess they will just have Bastion control or impersonate Magneto to truly spark war between humans and mutants and just won’t do Xorn thing.

...oh god we're not getting Onslaught right? He was fine in MVC but not in the comics.
Death is a companion. We should cherish Death as we cherish Life.
We might. Onslaught came before OZT in the comics, but they could flip things this time.
One Strip! One Strip!I never get why people would be worried about a comic character being adapted even if his original story is terrible. Because... the show might rewrite them to be better?
Kaze ni Nare! You think sublime will appear here? Not in this story arc but a future one.
Him and Cassandra nova are the only "main x men foes" to not appear here.

"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."There's a lot of "big" X-Villains that haven't appeared here; there's only time for so much in ten episodes. Sublime and Cassandra I would say aren't gonna appear. Sublime is too big and high concept to be jammed in with everyone else, Cassandra is the same and her role has largely been given to Sinister and Bastion.
Reporter lady sure has a way with words
It's almost impressive how Trish keeps angering the people she wants to help.
So how does I absorb Kinetic Energy Shaw get killed by falling rocks?
One Strip! One Strip!I'm pretty sure that the way Shaw's powers work in the comics is that he can absorb kinetic energy from things - including attacks that hit him - but that doesn't mean he's invulnerable or anything like that. Like, there's a scene in the Joss Wheadon run where Shaw (a psychic copy of him but same difference) fights Colossus and wins by letting Piotr wail on him until he's got enough kinetic charge built up to knock him out with one hit, but Colossus' hits still do damage and afterwards Shaw is bleeding, bruised, and clearly relieved he managed to hold out long enough for his rope-a-dope to work.
I assumed Invulnerability came with his strength increase. Some level of increased durability is usually part of the Super-Strength package. In fact, as I understood it, it's rare (though not unheard of) to have one without the other, and the highest the level of your strength, the more invulnerable you are to go with it.
It's all relative of course. Someone who's invulnerable to punch to the face from Beast will likely still need to get their jaw wired after getting clobbered by Colossus.
Also, Shaw's powers can be overloaded if he's hit with too much too fast, so maybe that happened here.
One Strip! One Strip!spoiler heavy reactions in the folder
Again, the density of this story is pulling it down. It needs more episodes and more time to do these things. Things were getting a little too much for me by the end of the episode. Like the jump between Rogue draining Gyrich and her on the streets with the X-Men finding her.
I did like the cameos of Ross, the Hulkbuster base and Cap. I hope we'll see more of Cap possibly in the SHIELD's role from the comics of shutting down OZT. I did not expect it to be Cap and Rogue to share the scenes. The mid-series trailer seem to link Wolverine and Nightcrawler to him. (still waiting him to go to town with some swords)
There's just not enough time to give Rogue to full arc she deserves here. On the other hand, we see her going the closest the series can get to friggen Omni-Man and that's a cool display of power. Her trying to hew the ideal and then just murdering Trask for being no help feels like it needs more deconstruction that the time will allow but we'll see.
The mixed reaction of both Roberto's Mother and the President were interesting. Not being unfriendly but being far too concerned with optics to really be on the right side.
The intro keeps showing Nimrod inside Master Mold so I'm sure they're keeping the fusion aspect of Bastion intact.
Also Spider-Man did cameo in X-Men TAS too as among the heroes saving civilians when something was happening to Earth.
I didn't get why Beast lashed out at the reporter. She wasn't being condescending at all.
