Memers, there's a difference between busy, disabled, and socially awkward. All that means is that someone struggles being social, not because they can't do it but because of anxieties or lack of social awareness or something.

Anyway, you really need to explain and support your stances better. So far all you've done is make arguments nobody else can follow.

Anyway, Socially Awkward Hero is a different trope and any definition stuff needs to be saved for a different thread. This is about WUGTSSTW. I feel like the Socially Awkward Hero stuff is derailing us too much.

We're trying to redefine WUGTSSTW, not Socially Awkward Hero. If Socially Awkward Hero has issues or needs to be redefined, it needs its own thread.

The discussion was, should we redefine this trope to match the way it's been misused, because the use on the site does not match the definition written up on the site that looks similar to Socially Awkward Hero.

(The core of the problem is the misuse, not the overlap)

Exactly.

The issue is that the trope as described currently is basically just Socially Awkward Hero. The issue isn't with Socially Awkward Hero but with WUGTSSTW, which can easily just be redefined without ever touching Socially Awkward Hero.

Welcome back Memers! I thought you lost interest in this thread, but turns out I'm wrong lol. I believe others already gave you adequate responses, so I'm not gonna repeat the same things.

Anyway, I think we might need to make a crowner after all or advertise this thread so more people will give their opinions.

^^ If that redefinition includes removing "sucking at dating" as part of WUGTSSTW, I am all for it. Your crowned suggestions crowned above didn't address this directly so I wanted to find out.

With that said, here's an updated version of the crowner options:

• Redefine as "student hero has mundane life", move the resulting misuse to tropes like Socially Awkward Hero.
• Split into two tropes: One for teen heroes who struggle, and one for teen heroes who don't.
• Merge with Part-Time Hero into a trope, hypothetically named Heroism Is Easy Life Is Hard, about heroes struggling with balancing jobs/school and their heroic duties.

Okay, so let's start it with something about how not all teen heroes have busy and loud lives. Some teen heroes have calm and ordinary lives along heroism. Their life consists of waking up, going to school, and literally saving the world on repeat.

I like it but is the link to One-Hour Work Week in relation to Part-Time Hero? Because that could be confusing.

It was in the original and I didn’t change much of that section.

ETA: deleted that sentence. I understand what it was doing there, but it has more to do with Part-Time Hero anyway.

Edit: Swapped in the new description to start so at least any usage newly-decided as misuse will stop. Wicks and examples still need to be checked and moved, however.
