Abandoned Sandbox Cleanup

This thread is for combing through the sandbox namespace and cutting pages that are no longer serving a purpose. Some criteria on what we will and will not cut:

• Okay to cut:
  • Sandboxes for abandoned and/or completed projects
  • Personal sandboxes only if the troper is confirmed gone, or if they otherwise consent to a cut

• Not okay to cut:
  • Sandboxes for ongoing projects (page drafts, project threads, pantheon work)
  • Personal sandboxes currently in-use, or belonging to tropers who don't consent to a cut

Why do this? Well, mostly to clear up space on the wiki and clear out some unnecessary bloat, as well as to clear up sandbox titles or create pages out of long-in-stasis drafts.

So from a quick look through the list of pages in the Sandbox/ namespace, I discovered Sandbox.Nightmare Fuel. It hasn’t been edited since 2019, and is an outdated copy of NightmareFuel.El Goonish Shive. Why, exactly, does this sandbox exist?

It might've been drafting space. Or maybe someone from the cleanup thread made it. Lemme see...yeah, this is a bizarre one.

The page’s older than the NF cleanup thread, so it definitely isn’t a product of a thread. I can’t tell if it was drafting space or not, since NightmareFuel.El Goonish Shive was seemingly recreated back in August, leaving the original creation date of the page unknown.

The "creation date" is apparently "NA" which is also super weird.

It might help if you link the list of Sandbox/ pages.

Anyway, Sandbox.Nightmare Fuel seems to have been created in April of 2017, then stuck around for three years before finally being imported to the actual page by nombretomado. I think we can cut it.

Yeah, I always forget exactly how to get to the namespace list so I couldn't add it before.

I'm good with cutting it.

I just went to Administrivia.Namespace for the link to the namespace tool.

Anyway, I found Sandbox.A Darker Shade Of Black, which looks like an attempt at a TLP draft considering A Darker Shade Of Black has never existed. It has only been edited by RJ-19-CLOVIS-93, who I can't ping because of hyphens. Should we request that it be posted to TLP?

Maybe? RJ does tend to make their TLP drafts along with sandboxes for...reasons only known to them. IDK why this one hasn't had a draft.

Here's one I found: Sandbox.So You Want To Write AYKTTW. It feels redundant to other, more well-built sandboxes and policy pages regarding TLP. Cut?

Yeah, sounds like a cut.

Next on my radar: Sandbox.We Do Not Make Tropes. On the hand, I had to point out this concept here regarding someone complaining about The Karen (yes, it's relevant here). On the other hand, it mentions TLP by its old name and has Fast Eddie's veto back from when he was an admin. Cut?

We could just state directly in the cut reason that the sandbox is just an old Administrivia draft with Fast Eddie vetoing it on the same page.

I'd be fine with that, though we used to always say in the Image Pickin' discussions for pages with images that had Eddie's fiat that he no longer has authority here. While I'm leaning towards cutting as the situation I mentioned seems like it won't happen often, I'll probably wait for a bit or for more people's opinions until cutlisting just to be safe.

I mean, I feel like there's a big difference between "sandbox that outright has an admin calling it useless" and "bad images kept due to bias".

True. Considering I've just received another support vote, it's gonna be cut.

Next page, Sandbox.Jottings. Made by a troper who hasn't edited since 2016, does not appear to be wiki content but more like some text adventure idea. Cut?

Wow. That's something you can probably put on the cut list without even asking.

Next page, Sandbox.Magnum 12. Three headers, not made by the troper who has the name, the troper seems active but hasn't edited it at all so they probably don't care about its existence. Cut?

Those are mine. The first and last can be cut since they have served there purposes.
