I just discovered the trope Sincerest Form of Flattery and I genuinely have no idea what it is. It's a subtrope of Follow the Leader, which is Trivia, but this trope is Mainspace and seems to require creator admittance, which definitely should make it Trivia, but most of the wicks are on main work pages.

Oh yeah, there's also only 150 of them, and this has been around since 2009.

[up] Basically Follow the Leader where the creator outright states that it was inspired by a popular, trendy work.

Identifying Trivia is the role of this thread, but if it is The Same, but More Specific then it needs Trope Repair Shop attention.

Yeah, that's the thing. I know about that thread but wanted a second opinion since this trope is so baffling to me. I kinda want to do a wick check to see if the examples even follow the "creator admitted it" rule.

Should def be Trivia, and needs a shout out to Inspiration Nod in the description.
