The Year is 7057.

Humanity and Metahumanity have more or less roughly combined it seems in order to face the enemies of humanity that have arisen in these long thousands of years. Humanity has colonized the moon, and those left on Earth have acclimated to a much more harsh and dangerous climate. The remaining cities have been encased in protective magic-technology based domes and traverse the world through train lines crisscrossing the skyline.

Nonhuman entities still exist but are now much rarer and by and large are in reconnaissance, observation, data encoding and administration duties. However this does not mean they are necessarily restricted to such duties.

In order to complete objectives and make an effort to reclaim the world outside the domes, the Heroes of the Domed Cities need to make excursions into the "wastelands" outside to recover items, artifacts and data from the Old World prior to the Calamity that caused this new order.

However, the Heroes of the Domed Cities are not alone in their explorations.

Within the old cities and desolate countryside, there remain the adversaries of humanity - The Machines and the Shadows. The Machines were seemingly uplifted by some alien presence according to records, and launched a rebellion that persisted into thirteen wars with the Machines that caused humanity's current state.

The Shadows are misshapen, dark creatures that seem to be born from fears and dreams. Nobody has any record of where the Shadows came from or, indeed, what their origin is outside of the Nonhuman Operatives of the Cities. For whatever reason, the Shadows yearn to find and destroy humanity, attempting to consume any humans they can find.

Even as the world exists in such a state, there remains hope blossoming somewhere in the deserts and eroded cities...

Welcome to one of the possible futures of the My Superhero Academy franchise of RP's on TV Tropes. In this RP, you'll be playing as one of the various Heroes associated with the Domed City Dahlia, tasked with acquiring various items and data from the old world. Dahlia is currently in the northeastern edge of the United States, preparing to send out a team of Heroes in order to scavenge from New York and expunge Machine presence.

The Heroes of New Saint Academy are regularly sent out to forage and fight. In the interest of stability and structure in an uncertain world, the Academy structure is preserved and utilized to provide some sense of normality and socialization among the Heroes.

Before we go further, the Code of Heroes must be mentioned. Since the days of The Saint, the code has undergone changes and restructuring. This is the present day state of the New Saint Academy's Heroic Code.

1. Be a Hero.

2. No murdering your fellow Hero.

3. No intense emotion on the job.

4. No sparing of Machines nor Shadows.

5. No use of mental powers on non-Machine and non-Shadow targets.

6. The Machine and The Shadow are your enemies. Do not communicate with them and do not sympathize with them. They will kill you at the drop of a hat.

7. No Relationships between Heroes.

8. Do not withhold items or collected data.

  • Real Name: Sue
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: ???
  • Appearance: *Appearance: Sue's ususal look. These days she goes around as a regular human, if only for convience's sake. When she's asleep or incapacitated, she reverts to her true form.
  • Personality: Sue is wild, wily, fun-loving, rambunctious, curious, arrogant, and stubborn as all hell. She does whatever she wants whenever she wants, regardless of what anyone else tells her or expects of her. She is capable of following orders, but whoever's giving them has to earn or command her respect before that can happen. She does have a more insecure side. One that isn't sure if she's doing the right thing. But it never bothers her for too long, or if it does she tries not to show it. She's also rather temperamental, quick to anger and quick to judge. But she's also quick to make friends, and eager to make them. And she'll stick by her friends to the end. (Assuming they don't stab her in the back.) She also has her own sense of justice. An eye for an eye, tooth for a tooth. If someone's done wrong to her or people she cares about, she'll do wrong back. Or perhaps worse.
    • In her years wandering the Earth, Sue has become a bit more... grounded. In many way, she's the same as she ever was. But having forgotten so much and seen much destruction and devastation has somewhat tempered her rambunctious and given her a wealth of experience to draw on. But at the end of the day, she's still the same impulsive monkey girl and prefers to think with her heart instead of her head.
    • She also doesn't give a crap about the 'heroic code'. She doesn't mind most of it. Things like 'be a hero', 'don't murder fellow heroes'? That's obvious. But a life without emotion? Without real relationships? That's not a life worth living at all. She'll work with the Academy to protect civilians and her friends, but she won't be anyone's soldier.
  • Powers: Sue has all the natural abilities of a monkey, albeit enhanced to human proportions. She has great strength and speed as well as incredible agility and dexterity, and that along with her tail and hands-for-feet opens up a lot of options. She can also heal faster than humans, and often recovers from injuries that would otherwise be fatal. (Though something extreme like cutting off her head could still take her out.) Additionally, as part of her heritage running back generations, she can make clones of herself from hairs on her body, though only up to two at a time. Any more and the last clone she made is replaced.
    • Shapeshifting: Sue is able to morph her body and alter her appearance. Usually she uses it to appear as a normal human. Nonhumans aren't as common or accepted as they used to be. She can also alter her a body to certain extent. Anything from stretching her limbs, to increasing or decreasing her size, to growing additional appendages like extra arms or wings. But without her staff, anything else is beyond her.
  • Gear: Year ago, Sue possessed a long red staff that she could use to fly and extend her reach. However, she lost it years ago. She isn't sure how or why, but she hasn't found it since. Though she's certain it will turn up.
  • Backstory: Not much is known about Sue. Rumor has it she used to be from some tribe of monkey people in the jungle, living out a simple if boring existence before coming to civilization. Whether or not that's true is up for debate. Not even Sue is sure if that's true. The only thing she's sure of is that she's been around for a very, very long time. So long that everything started to fade away or blend together after she was around long enough. All she knows is that at some point, she dedicated herself to helping people and anyone she cares about. So that's what she's done.
    • For the last several years, she's been travelling the world, saving people in trouble and beating up anyone or anything that's tried to stop her. At some point, the Academy got wind of her. She wasn't too sure about joining up. Especially with what she'd already seen of them. But travelling by herself for so long got old. She still didn't remember everything. But she knew she used to have friends. Used to have fun. And she wanted that again. And may the Jade Emporer help anyone who got in the way of that.
  • Miscellaneous: Sue enjoys intense action flicks and wacky comedies. She also has a number of other skills she's picked up, but they come as spontaneously as her worst impulses.
    • Sue is also an experienced and resilient fighter, hunter, and survivalist due to her years of traveling.

  • Name: Alula Selesnote
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 23note
  • Appearance:
    • Human: Of a mere 5'6". Medium build but light and athletic. Her eyes glow soft with latent magick that focus on a strange, diamond-shaped sigil on the skin of her back. Seems to move carefully yet in a way nearly inhumanly graceful—as if constantly unused to moving around in her own body.
    • K'narii: Same height. Parts of her synthetic form seem to levitate through unknown means; possibly from the innate magick running through her. Of a strange metal akin to bone that emanates bodily warmth instead of lifeless cold—the outermost layer is soft like silicon despite its appearance. The glow of magic escapes through the cracks in her form as well as her eyes upon use, and she moves fluidly as ever with not a hint of gears or actuators or any other kinds of traditional mechanisms.
  • Personality: Alula is curious and serene, gentle in heart yet able to harden herself when the call of duty forbids her from showing great emotion. She comes across as both an old soul and a young child in her mannerisms, empathetic by nature but also sensible enough not to let her own softness override her judgement. She treats the rules given to her by the Academy as something to be wary of, and is more than willing to bend or break them if her sense of morality compels her too—albeit only if she's sure none around her will be at risk of getting hurt for it. Alula feels a deep sympathy and sadness for whatever enemy she cuts down, and is innately disturbed by the deaths of her fellow Machines in any situation—though she'll obey orders if they're given to her, there's a sense that she won't be able to stay complacent for very long...
  • Hero Type: Recon
  • Powers:
    • Magick: An ancient form of magic; sometimes referred to as the Old Magic specifically. Alula's magick manifests as a fiery gold that forms into runic shapes upon being cast—no spoken words are required for her spells, and instead she seems to hum in strange tones to assist in her casting. Alula is capable of launching impactful bolts of magical energy from her hands; capable of knocking an opponent off of their feet and burning them to the second degree—as well as apply her sorcery for healing purposes, which she is most proficient at. Alula is also capable of using her magick to boost herself briefly in midair, skate at superhuman speed along the ground, and latch onto uneven surfaces—she is thus able to hang from ceilings, run on walls, and even fight on the ocean itself if need be. Alula can also channel her magick into the blunted edges of her blades to give them cutting properties akin to superheated plasma.
    • Inhuman Athleticism: Alula is able to leap to a height of around 15 feet from a standing position, and using her magick as a midair boost effectively doubles this to 30 without considering momentum gained beforehand. She is tremendously nimble and athletic, and even without her sorceries can scramble up sheer vertical surfaces and react to threats with reflexes and flexibility unmatched by those without some form of superspeed. This is reflected in her weight, too—Alula is unnaturally light for her apparent age and size.
  • Gear:
    • Seles Armblades: A pair of sharp, sleek blades mounted upon the arms and made from a distinctly alien and unfamiliar metal alloy. Their focus seems to be in terms of durability rather than offense, as they've already been blunted from use and appear to be well-worn from before her time. Still, they are marked with ancient runes and allow Alula to channel her magick through them, which makes up for their otherwise aged state. Alula claims that these blades originally were created by a small tribe of Machines, but her family stole them upon defeating them and began attuning their magick in order to use them for themselves.note
    • Strange Jewel: Embedded in Alula's neck is a strange, softly glowing golden gem that appears to be fused with the skin—naturally seeming to pain her if poked or touched. She seems protective of it, and only offers vaguest explanations that it is a traditional implant of her family's to assist in their magick.note
  • Background: Alula claims to be of a secretive and an incredibly old family lineage, who passed on their knowledge of ancient magicks to her once she was ‘of age’ and encouraged her to join the frontlines in the battles against the Machines and the Shadows. In actuality, Alula is not even a human at all—in fact an advanced kind of Machine known as a K'narii and has lived in relative isolation from even her fellow synthetic organisms outside of her small tribe. Having used her magick before as a healer and an occasional hunter-gatherer, Alula has decided to infiltrate human society and the New Saint Academy in an effort to direct attention away from her own tribe—claiming that they have been made extinct eons ago and hoping to contribute in eventually making a change in societal perception of her and her tribe as a whole. Though she is fearful of being discovered and despises the thought of slaying her fellow Machines, she is determined to show that at least some are peaceful—or at least worth enough as sapient organisms to stop the systematic destruction of her kind.
  • Etcetera: As a K'narii, she is almost completely mute by human terms and at most communicates through frequencies and vaguely synthetic chirps/whistles that can only sometimes cross into the human range of hearing. But in order to preserve her identity, Alula settles for not attempting speech at all—using limited sign language and a lot of pointed looks and gestures to get her meaning across to other people.

  • Name: Beatrice Bianca
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 25
  • Appearance: New Saint Academy doesn't have a uniform, but if Beatrice was your only exposure to heroes you'd assume they did. Her usual outfit on missions is something akin to heavily prim and proper military regalia: Long pants, a stiffened (armored?) jacket over a tight button-up shirt and polished black boots with metal soles. On her off time she switches to a utilitarian grey blouse and dark blue jeans while still wearing her boots. Bea herself is tall and thin with short-cropped blonde hair and sparkling blue eyes.
  • Personality: Bea is the typical cold, hard and serious type usually associated with the loyalest members of the New Saint Academy. To her, the Heroic Code is sacrosanct and even when they aren't out on a mission she tries to exemplify it; this tends to her ending up with few friends and a fair number of people resentful of her. She seems to have no life outside of the missions; spending her downtime training her abilities and preparing her body and equipment for the next battle or isolating herself in private ostensibly to meditate away her emotions.
  • Hero Type: Assault Type
  • Powers: Limited Metalkinesis. Beatrice can 'push' pieces of metal within a small radius of her body, applying a bit of force to them. While she has fairly fine control over how much force she gives and what direction the push goes, she is still ultimately limited to imparting force rather than maintaining consistent movement or levitation on an object and the range makes it difficult to affect anything she couldn't reach out and grab normally (though it does work through physical barriers). She mostly uses this power on her own equipment, imparting more force to her sword swings, increasing the velocity of her bullets or most notably using her powers on the metal soles of her boots to slide rapidly in a direction or even provide additional height on her jumps.
  • Gear:
    • A large, straight-edged sword.
    • A chunky firearm with limited magazine capacity due to firing over-sized bullets. Without assistance from her powers, the range is very limited. She occasionally claims the primary purpose of the weapon is to deal with insurrection.
  • Background: Some would say Beatrice has a fairly boring origin, growing up as part of the sheltered and scared population of Dahlia. She signed up early, taking on her power as soon as she was considered safe to do so. She's run missions before and has proven to hold fast to the Heroic Code and notified her superiors of major breaches within her own team. Uncorroborated rumors suggest that she has at one point been outright responsible for a field execution of a teammate; the actual reason varies but always comes back to the other person breaking the Heroic Code. Beatrice herself refuses to talk about previous missions, noting that her reports are on file with administration and available should the need desperately arise.
  • Et Cetera: Beatrice often finds herself frustrated with the limits of human physiology. She has also picked up a number of nicknames about her cold and serious personality. Beatrice also has a well-hidden fondness for elaborate dresses and other feminine clothing but finds such garbs impractical for both missions and day to day wear and besides there's only so much her budget can afford.

It's clearly a case of backroom political albumizing.

  • Name: Huxshathra "Hux" Adams
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: 22
  • Appearance: A tall (6'6"), imposing man with coarse, dark hair and inhuman red eyes. Dark skinned, with tribal markings covering his body. He prefers simple black clothes, generally sleeveless shirts and athleticwear.
  • Personality: Hux comes across as hardened and abrasive. A serious, dedicated member of New Saint Academy. This, however, is largely a facade. He pretends to be a good little soldier most of the time, but it covers a genuine concern for others, even for the supposedly soulless machines and shadows that he's expected to cut down. He keeps his true nature well hidden, revealing it only to those he trusts.
  • Hero Type: Executor
  • Powers:
    • Physical Specimen: Even without his powers, Hux is at the peak of human fitness with minimal training. Possessing the strangth, agility and stamina comparable to top athletes. It's likely a result of nonhuman lineage, which would also explain his red eyes.
    • Black Armor: Hux's power is to coat his body in a substance blacker than void. This dark energy moderately enhances his physical abilities, and Hux can reshape it at will, even forming blades or blunt weapons with it, though he can't extend it more than an arm's length from his body. The energy also covers his clothes and anything he's holding, applying its property to them as well.
    • Uncreation: The black armor's most potent use, however, is to erase - at will, Hux can cause the darkness to rapidly eat away at anything it touches, erasing it from existence entirely. The speed at which this happens is determined by how durable the target is; the harder something is to break, the longer it takes to eat through it, and vice-versa.
  • Gear:
    • Devil Claw: Hux's weapon takes the form of a clawed, armored gauntlet. The clawed hand of the gauntlet can be fired off, remaining connected via a wire through which they can then be retracted. It can also be used as an impromptu grappling hook. The claw is enchanted to channel his power in a way other weapons do not, allowing him to keep it cloaked in his black armor even when it leaves his normal range.
  • Background: Long ago lived a tribe that desired power at all cost. They sealed ancient and terrible creatures inside their own bodies for power, or so it is said. But despite this power, the tribe began to die out. The last girl born to this tribe, called the Last Scion of Ahriman, was used as a sacrifice. Her parents, wanting to restore their tribe to its former glory, offered her to Angra Mainyu, a creature said to be the source of all evil. It accepted the deal, and tried to consume the girl, but she was able to fight back, killing the creature from within and absorbing its power. With that power, she became a great hero, even taming an ancient vampire and making him her husband.
    • Thus goes the story passed down by Hux's grandmother. Hux never really believed it, assuming it to be largely embellished. But when he signed up for New Saint Academy, expecting to recieve powers, he was told he already had a latent ability. After testing failed to draw it out, Hux, tired and confused, offered a solemn prayer to his ancestors. In that moment, he covered himself in ancient darkness. Naturally, with such a powerful ability, he was a shoo-in for the Academy. This was fortuitous, as his true goal in joining the Academy was to dismantle the existing hierarchy, believing peace is possible with the Machines, if not the Shadows. But for now, he plays along with the Academy and their foolish code, biding his time until he can change the system from within.
  • Et Cetera: Hux has a fondness for sewing and for stuffed animals, and is a surprisingly talented seamster.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

  • Name: Cifer Cartfield
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Doesn’t age-looks 15
  • Appearance: “Bzzzzzzzz. Did you hear that? That was my thoughts on the matter.

  • Personality: Cifer is essentially the epitome of The Stoic, a man of few words and words of few letters. He oftentimes responds to questions with a Glance or look that answers said question. He does have emotions, however, and he will lay them show when he feels extremely strong about something. He completely denies the hero’s code most of the time, believing in absolute freedom of intrigue and action. This belief stems from a personal desire to see what exactly made the shadows and machines, though he keeps all unrest to himself, lest it comes back to bite him later.
  • Hero Type: Assault

  • Powers:
    • Voidheart: Cifer is a voidheart. This basically means that he is composed of a materiel from beyond that which is inhabited in, specifically long dead reaches of space. Voidhearts form when cataclysmic events (such as the Big Bang) shake the entire multiverse to it’s core and scatter life throughout the void. Most Voidhearts don’t age and can’t technically die, as their bodies aren’t organic. They also have the ability to use the eternal black who thin them to fight, usually manifesting as tendrils. Most also use their abilities to morph their bodies into more ‘normal’ looking ones, and so they transform to their natural form when using their abilities. Further uses of the eternal black include creating wings, extra arms, even projectiles.

  • Gear: A combat pistol, used when his eternal black is too strained to function properly.

  • Et Cetera: Cifer tends to resent authority and conformity, hoping to one day abolish the Hero’s Code and allow for absolute freedom.

Well, dunno how this'll go but I'll leave this here and make adjustments if need be, I suppose. I've...got a backstory, but I'm not entirely sure on all of the details yet but hopefully the sheet's good enough regardless.

  • Name: Croire/Ramialia
  • Gender: Male and Female respectively.
  • Age: 20.
  • Appearance: "L-Look, I haven't h-had much time t-to u-use a needle and t-thread to fix m-my clothes and we had plenty of duct tape, s-so..." Croire stands at 5'5. "...Nuisance." Ramialia stands at 5'9.

  • Personality: As you...may have guessed from the last few parts of the sheet, Croire's...odd and in terms of personality, that's no different. Ironically, despite being the more 'dominant' personality, Croire's anything but, being almost crippling shy, meek, anxious, apologizing a lot (both for himself and Ramialia's hurtful comments/actions) and having pretty low self-esteem/worth to the point he's not good at accepting praise and expects people would prefer to interact and talk with Ramialia.

    • Ramialia herself is harsh, rude, short tempered and more than happy to crush anything that gets in her way. Implying she cares for her 'host'/'partner' is typically a good way to invoke her ire and typically lash out with violence, having a CONSIDERABLE amount of disdain having to work with others, making friends Either way, it's not entirely sure what causes them to swap between personalities or if it's literally two people sharing one body.

  • Hero Type: Defense.

  • Powers: Okay, gonna be a bit here.

    • Nil Vortex & Fulhur Petulans: It's not entirely clear whether Croire simply generates an aura of negative energy that attracts the Shadows, if they're terribly unlucky or just flat out being a magnet for Shadows for some other reason, they'll typically go after him in a fight. As for the latter half of the power, Ramialia creates a tether between her and one or many foes that deals slow, if constant damage with it hurting a lot more the further away enemies are from Ramialia. Granted, it's not a fool-proof way to keep an enemy's focus on her but it's typically enough to get their attention.

    • Shock Siphon: A power both of Croire and Ramialia share and a more passive effect. Any damage they might sustain, they can convert a portion of the impact (kinetic, magical, etc) into energy to either strengthen themselves for as long as they're in combat...provided it's not enough damage to outright take them out of the fight or store it to use the power below. Croire becomes more resilient to further damage and Ramialia gets faster.

    • Dernier Périple & Exitium Impetus: If all of that's not enough, they've have this power...which is more more of a last ditch effort by using all of the stored up energy and the rush of adrenaline causing a far more dramatic effect depending on who's in control. With Croire, it causes his cells and body to rapidly regenerate, giving him an incredible healing factor and durability to match. ...The drawback to such a thing is that after a minute, the constant regeneration starts causing considerable, potentially fatal harm the longer it goes on as he literally burns out and Croire's unable to stop this power unless the opposition's been defeated or Ramialia takes control which will mean he'll be unconscious from anywhere between 24 hours to several days.

    • Ramialia on the other hand gets far stronger and attacking one tethered foe causes a powerful spike of electricity to harm any others that are tethered to Ramialia. ...The issue with that is if she doesn't stop (and she WON'T considering she's been pushed this far by an tenacious/annoying enemy) or Croire retakes control (which means she'll be the personality/half that'll be unconscious for 24+ hours) she'll essentially go berserk until she's either knocked out or nothing else is left standing.

    • Soul Shift: ...Not exactly a power and more of their genetic make-up. Like you might've gathered at this point, with the two personalities and powers Croire and Ramialia can swap between appearances as their cells and body rapidly change to take on one of two completely different appearances in a matter of seconds. The only real combat applications it would have would be one personality taking over if the other is incapacitated although if either of them take way too much damage, it'll be fatal for the both of them.

  • Gear: Croire tends to swing around a longsword that's...more of a tuning fork considering it's missing the middle of the blade and a grappling hook gun to scale buildings while Ramialia...is quite content to bludgeon opponents into submission with a lead pipe.

  • Background: No-one's entirely sure where the duo came from or who the pair actually are...Croire simply goes quiet and looking rather depressed while Ramialia will sharply comment it's none of your damn business. With the whole 'transforming into a different person' bit, it's obvious he/she/they aren't exactly normal and with neither of them having any next of kin to speak of, most assume they're orphans who's powers ended up backfiring.

    • Some even say Ramialia's a Shadow that gained sentience and melded with Crorie's body rather than consume it to use him as a puppet and only being restrained from taking permanent control by the armlets on their wrists. ...Which Croire will outright deny, getting incredibly flustered while Ramimalia will typically scoff and either go along with the rumor or tell those asking they're as mindless as a Shadow if they believe that sort of stupid nonsense.

    • And a few think they're the result of scientific and magical experimentation and modification of either trying to combine multiple people's powers or magical prowess or give someone lacking powers an artificial one. Either way, neither of them are saying anything.

  • Et Cetera: Despite his insistence that he's not good at much, Croire's skilled at cooking, sewing (either patching up clothes or making something new) and...kind of repairing machinery while Ramialia's far more athletic, being stealthy...and using her powers to give machinery an electric jolt in an attempt to jump start it. ...Both of them enjoy candy and whatever desserts they can get their hand on. Not that Ramialia will admit it.

[up][up][up] Accepted.

[up] Uhh, R Alexa? About the backstory. It doesn't really fit. For one thing it seems to be set more in the past during the older RP's as opposed to 7057. Plus I'm not entirely sure a machine to turn people into metahumans would be a thing at this point. There was a whole point earlier in the backstory here that discussed the human and metahuman thing. Plus some other factors that'll come up later that'd just make too many questions.

An Ordinary Oddball

  • Name: "Old Man Elijah" (It's suspected that this is some sort of alias.)
  • Gender: Male
  • Age: Very Tired Old ManTM
  • Appearance: A familiar face. His hair has grown even longer, and he usually dresses in humble hooded robes with many layers. He has black tattoos that could be recognized as belonging to the Ahriman tribe (though because of his own special nature, they are not a boon or a burden to him) in addition to an ancient murderer's brand on his forehead, almost too faded to be recognized. A ribbon seemingly woven out of hair as dark as night is braided into his stark locks. He treasures this innocuous ribbon greatly, as well as the tarnished silver crucifix around his neck. "Don't fucking touch it—"
  • Personality: Elijah presents himself as nobody but a simple scavenger and courier, who both scrounges for scrap in the wastelands and ferries both it and people across the dangerous space between domed cities. How he survives in the wasteland for such long stretches of time is anybody's guess, but any time he is asked about this, he discourages further questioning with an aggressive answer. He seems to have a proclivity for indulging in vices despite everything else that he does, and has also hinted that he remembers what the world was like "before all this bullshit happened."
  • Hero Type: Assault
  • Powers:
    • Fearfully & Wonderfully Made: Elijah, having seemingly cast aside any notion of "shame" from the past, may biokinetically manipulate his own body to change it into various hideous battle-forms. By touching or consuming parts of a biological being, he may choose to absorb their biomass into himself, which he can then spend to increase his physical parameters or heal himself. This even extends to the Shadows, but does not work on the Machines. Wounds inflicted while he is transformed are supernaturally hard to staunch and induce unnatural fatigue. Theoretically, there seems to be no upper limit to how much biomass he may choose to hold within him at a time, but larger battle-forms guzzle more fuel, so it is wise to conserve resources to help ensure that he doesn't end "up shit creek without a paddle."
    • Fear No Evil: "For the First art with thee." Elijah emits a constant aura of menace that he can only turn down, never turn off, and is very resistant to whatever supernatural fear effects the Shadows may choose to throw at him. Unfortunately, this means that the Shadows also have a degree of resistance to this power, due to being formed from fears themselves, but this can vary from the "small fry" Shadows to the "big catches." The Machines, however, may be affected with no resistances—this may manifest as their code going on the fritz as they learn exactly what fear is. Elijah might even be considered part-Shadow for certain "past actions" leading to him obtaining this power, as his hands are suffused with red veins that resemble dripping rivulets of blood the more that he uses this ability, which resemble some of the red markings seen on Shadows.
    • Even With A Jawbone: Elijah is supernaturally skilled at fighting with whatever is lying around at the moment. Whatever he can get his hands on has the potential to become a deadly weapon. When weapons are present, they seem to be drawn to him when he has need of them, and can end up in his hands whether because he took them by force or because of what appears as a sheer act of God. People are wary of him because of this, if not for his other monstrous abilities, because despite his claims of being a humble scavenger and courier, his prowess in slaughter leads many to believe that he was a former mercenary of some sort. "If only they knew..."
  • Gear:
    • Lacrimosa & Severance: Elijah favors a spear and a sword that he says were forged with "bone-ash and star-metal." Even though they look like ancient and backwards weapons, they have proven to be the equal of modern vibro-weapons, and are able to take down both Machines and Shadows. When asked about them, Elijah once said that he had to melt down another weapon to reforge it into these ones, and then refused to say any more. The spear is named Lacrimosa and the sword is named Severance. They keep showing up in the oddest of places whenever Elijah loses them.
    • Abel & Seth: While Elijah has expressed his dissatisfaction with modern blasters, he has picked up a pair of mundane blaster pistols that he treasures greatly. He remembers to perform maintenance on them regularly, and gets sad when they get nicked or chipped. They are named Abel & Seth, and Elijah seems to be able to tell which is which, even though they are the same exactly identical model of pistol. When asked where "Cain" is, the only response he gives is a blank stare and a harsh "Fuck off."
    • Besides his weapons, Elijah has a collection of "junk" including a packet of old playing cards, a dog-eared Bible, a wooden smoking pipe, and an "old-timey" guitar.
  • Background:
    BOOK OF ELIJAH
  • Elijah, essentially, is Cain from the Biblical stories, except he did not willingly kill his brother Abel. He was infected by a strange virus from an unknown source (Cain believes that his Grandfather deliberately did this in order to teach humanity a lesson about murder because it "would have happened anyways" and somebody needed to be turned into the villain of a cautionary tale in order to be the one to continuously test humanity's morals and determination by spreading the dual "curses" of vampirism and were-animalism; if Cain didn't become the first murderer, Abel would have in self-defense), and went mad with blood-thirst under its effects. He willingly accepted his punishment and Mark in order to atone for his apparent misdeed. The story was eventually changed to its current edition because of a conspiracy engineered by vampires to hide their existence. He has hunted his kin through the ages—those that have been sadistic or given to excess, anyways—and previously decided to go on a bit of a sabbatical by joining the Saint Foundation.
  • While at the Saint Foundation, he and Marah, the Last Scion of Ahriman, fell for each other, though they had a bit of a rough start. Eventually, after an appropriate period of courtship had passed, they decided to settle down with each other and have a child. Their union was a bit scandalous, because of the age difference between them, but they eventually managed to stop most of the loose tongues from wagging. He and Marah are in a healthy relationship, to the general consternation and shock of just about everyone. Cain just smiles mysteriously when anyone asks how he wooed Marah.
  • After everyone in Cain's immediate family died, Cain reluctantly went back to his old ways, doing what he was doing before he arrived at the Saint Foundation and met Marah. Eventually, unable to stand much more of life, he sealed himself in a cave where he resided in a state of torpor for a very long time. He eventually had a vision where his Grandfather told him that Armageddon would begin if he did not intervene. Hearing this, Cain drew on the last dregs of his strength and emerged from the cave to do his Grandfather's bidding one last time, with both new and old blessings from his Grandfather. There are still records that exist of him trying to valiantly hold back the Shadows at the start of the great calamity that threatened to end the Age of Humanity.
  • Elijah seems to be a half-senile wandering scavenger and courier who is barely clinging onto life out in the wastelands and is only surviving due to some sort of miracle. However, nobody really knows where he comes from, and some of the older wastelanders will recount how Elijah came to their rescue when they were younger, and still looks the exact same to the current day. He knows a variety of old songs and stories from the Old World, and is freakishly skilled at combat—he openly professes that he hates the Shadows more than the Machines, seeing them as true evil incarnate while the Machines are simply misguided vessels without repercussions—that is, nobody has been able to bring any repercussions upon his head, ever. He suddenly expressed an interest in New Saint Academy as soon as it was established, saying that it was nigh time that he "sucked it up and revisited the past."
  • Etc: A number of old, crude carvings on landmarks in the wasteland say "ELIJAH WAS HERE" in large letters, along with a cartoonish carved figure with a large nose and a bald head peeking over a wall. This references a war meme thousands of years old, and how Elijah knows of it is anyone's guess. This only intensifies the mysteries surrounding him, and many seek to capture him to see what further secrets he may hold. "Heh. Let 'em come."

[up] Well, I'm not personally fond of how much he draws from anime, and I was told that you don't do Discord - and I think by now Discord is pretty much essential.

And on that note, the Discord Link is up!

  • Name: Amelie Young
  • Gender: Female
  • Age: 19
  • Appearance: Amelie tries her best to recreate old world fashion and hairstyles based off of a confused collection of media from the time before the dome cities, which tends to result in "eccentric" and completely anachronistic reproductions of outfits from a wide variety of completely different time periods thrown together.
  • Personality: Amelie is energetic and eager to please. She views her position in Dahlia as an honor and privilege, which means she can sometimes be a real stickler for following the rules. In fact she's generally pretty invested in behaving properly in general, whether that's following the New Saint Academy's Heroic Code as closely as she can, or being polite and following social expectations. Whatever the case she tries to stay cheery and upbeat while encouraging other people to do the same. Considering it an honor isn't the only reason she's this happy to go into the outside world though. Amelie has a passion for the old world and its customs, often trying her best to emulate her (admittedly rather confused) idea of what people thousands of years in the past dressed like and did in their spare time.
  • Hero Type: Recon Type
  • Powers: Amelie has a grab bag of smaller powers meant to help her carry out her duties of recovering artifacts and items from the Wasteland.
    • Pocket Box She is able to store items in, and retrieve them from a pocket dimension, though it's size is only roughly that of a five foot by five foot box.
    • Directional Memory Amelie has exceptional directional awareness. She's able to keep track of both the positions of herself, as well as allies and enemies in relationship to each other, and can remember and retrace the path she took to her current location. (Assuming of course she was conscious enough to actually observe the trip)
    • Hurry! Finally, she has enhanced speed, being able to accelerate to around sixty to seventy five miles per hour over the course of a few seconds.
  • Gear: In cases where she has to engage in combat herself Amelie uses a collection of knives that she has been trained to use both for throwing and close quarters combat.
  • Background: Amelie's parents are scholars, they work to interpret and study artifacts of the desolate old world. So her house growing up was always full of artifacts and items heroes had managed to scrounge up, both replicas and on some occasions real. In their family the exploration of the outside was everything. Unlike her parents and siblings though Amelie never had the patience to sit still at a desk and analyze data for hours at a time, but she still desperately wanted to be a part of the process. So instead Amelie registered herself to join New Saint Academy at the first possible opportunity. Granted, school had never been her strong suit, but her eagerness and completely selfless devotion to the cause of foraging old world relics meant that she was able to prove herself as a valuable asset to the domed city of Dahlia. Her family still wishes she'd be an academic, and she may still be decently new to the whole hero thing, but she has no doubts that this is how she wants to spend her life.
  • Et Cetera: She takes her role supporting the team to the absolute max, keeping her teammates' favorite snacks and time killing activities in her Pocket Box.
