[x7] I'm not following the logic here. Remember Tomura is already very weakened thanks to Endeavor, Deku and all the others. Hell, even Shoto and Nejire got pretty good combo hit on him. So Mirio hypothetically beating him wouldn't invalidate their efforts. If anything it's the other way around. If Shigaraki can just escape and regenerate to full health, then all their efforts are moot.

Nah, I think Mirio is just going to keep the villains barely at bay before taking his leave.

If there's one thing that Mirio is weak at is protecting other people so his focus will be on distracting Touya, Shigaraki and Gigantomachia from attacking the others along with Best Jeanist.

I also expect Best Jeanist and Mirio to keep morale from collapsing and preventing the heroes from routing outright; aside from that, Best Jeanist and Mirio will probably exchange some words with Bakugou and Izuku respectively once they are being treated.

Bakugou will probably tell him his hero name (maybe something like Flashpoint) and acknowledge that his lessons were on-spot while Mirio will probably try to comfort Izuku from his Heroic Self-Deprecation and remind him that it's not One For All that makes him worthwhile, but rather that because he's worthy that One For All decided to stay with him.

Anyway, the next chapters after this will probably be dedicated to tying loose ends before we jump to the next phase of the manga.

I mean, an evil fire user dying in the Marineford equivalent wouldn't be that shocking.

Only if it Traumatizes Shoto and Endeavor in the worse ways possible, leaving them foreve scarred and blaming themselves for what happened, breaking their family for good.

At this point, I just want to see Dabi die for the sake of the Internet Backdraft from the Dabistans. It will either be cringeworthy, glorious, or a combination of the two.

Boo, spite should never be a good motivator even if it is justified.

Remember, self admitted misanthropist, and I'm also admitting to being a bit of a sadist, namely when it comes to assholes who really could use a kick in the teeth like the Dabistans.

Spite may not be a good motivator, but damn if it isn't catharthic.

I think he either dies or is captured by the heroes; no way that he escapes from this one.

Like, that's literally what Dabi is motivated by, and we've all seen what it'd done to him.

So yeah, don't be motivated by Spite...like ever.

Spite is anperfectly justified motivation given the context of situation. Ain't that right Lord Dagda, Father of the Tuath De danann You edgy Izanami Basement dwelling Celtic neckbeard disaster?

I do think we need to see more of how Dabi to where he is now, because this explains a lot, theres still a ton of context missing which can help recontextualize things just as weve gotten with Endeavor, but I don't think killing him is good because its clear he doesn't value his life. If you want him to die, have Shoto beat some sense into him first and THEN kill him off horrobly when he's only having his Heel Realization.

Dabi is definitely not dying here.

Not when Shoto is so tired. He must be refreshed for their epic battle.

Well, RIP to uwu softboi Dabi headcanons. The hardcore stans are freaking out in a way that strongly reminds me of certain fandoms' Ship Sinking meltdowns, so that's always fun.

With Mirio coming in clutch, it's started to occur to me that of all UA students, Bakugou will have been the least useful, with his grand contribution being to get stabbed instead of Deku. Poor boy keeps getting damselled.

I swear, if this ends up becoming helpful for mid-long term Todoroki family healing, I'll be amused.

Could you imagine this being a catalyst for Endeavor to make up with Rei, the amount of rage would be delicious.

Man this whole thing really is the antithesis to Itachi Uchiha.

Itachi was revealed that have genuinely cared for his brother & was a good man while Dabi wants to actually kill his brother and is a straight up monster.

Maybe that's part of the reason the Dabistan's are in an uproar. They thought Dabi was gonna be an Itachi expy, when really he's a Spiritual Antithesis.

So are we (or they I guess) ignoring that Itachi still royally messed up the little brother he "cared" about.

Well the narrative did sorta ignore that little detail.

Pretty much everything Itachi did was framed as completely justified and just examples of what a "great and wise and noble ninja" he was.

Shit man, if anything, Dabi is exactly Itachi if he actually was a nutjob and not "secretly good"

The amount of leeway they gave Itachi was so fucking absurd.

x3 Not ignoring it. Just pointing out the Draco in Leather Pants isn't exclusive to pure villains, it's applied to morally questionable too like Itachi.

Regarding Bakugo's screentime, the funny thing is that his screentime is not unusually high. Izuku has far and away the most screentime, and the next 5 have similar numbers. So in terms of votes and popularity, Bakugo is just insanely efficient.

Itachi does ultimately admit that his plans were flawed because he saw Sasuke as a tool for his revenge, to be sharpened via his own idea of reality. He forgot Sasuke was a person.

Also, i'd say Itachi was indeed the perfect ninja, the type they talk about early in the series. Kills his true feelings, prioritizes the missing above all else, and stayed true to his way to the end. And it sucked. It caused a giant cascade of failures, since Sasuke being vulnerable to Itachi's manipulation made him vulnerable to Orochimaru's and Obito's as well.

Naruto meanwhile is the worst ninja, prioritizing others over the mission and abandoning the rules, yet in the end his way is validated.

Bakugo is actually a decent bar to compare to Uraraka. Just like her, he's never really had an arc of his own, and just like her, his relationship with Deku is very central to his character. Yet, nobody seems to feel he's always getting shafted or anything of the short.

It's something I discussed with Yakuzu awhile back, although it was more comparing Uraraka to Shoto, namely, an unintentional sense of sexism in the fanbase, where it's okay for the guys to have their characterization defined by another guy, but a Double Standard is in place for the girls. Reason it was involving Shoto was because, as I pointed out to Yakuzu, Shoto's character was and to an extent still is heavily influenced by Midoriya. Only reason he's moved past that point is because of the whole "Keeping Up with the Todoroki's" thing going on.

Well one difference is that Izuku is also heavily defined by Bakugo, and much less by ochako. Like, the bakudeku mutual rival crush is very real, but Ochako-Izuku is very one-sided.
