Akihisa Ikeda, the creator of Rosario + Vampire, returns with a new supernatural action/ecchi harem series.

Who else is enjoying this new series so far? I loved Rosario + Vampire, so I'm excited for new work by the same creator.

I seems a bit rushed and I feel it would be better if it toned down some of the comedy (Kai's silly scythe-form face particularly) but the second chapter was an improvement on the first as Catboy was quite cool.

I expect that the male lead will turn out to be a lot shadier than he seems based on that first chapter bit. But so far it's all right.

Chapter 3: Kai looks cool when he's angry. I wasn't expecting Nyarlathotep to turn up but things are definitely getting interesting.

Double post for Chapter 13: First we have Nyarlathotep, now we get a mention of the Great Old Ones in general. So this is a weird manga version of Lovecraft then?

Looks like. I also like how the main character is an older woman instead of another high school girl, and has to go through the workforce. It reminds me of that other manga featuring an older protagonist that I really liked before it turned out the writer was a creep.

Apparently, the sales of the first volume were not fantastic. Here's hoping it manages to pick up, because I really am personally enjoying the series. Like Rosario + Vampire, it seems like it's taking a bit to really get into the actual plot.

Ah, and now they're in the tougher ranks.

Yeah, Shogy is very cute. She's probably my favourite characters in the series so far (and I feel quite silly for only now realising that her name is from Lovecraft as well)

As for a work page, I have been meaning to do one since before Christmas but keep forgetting/having other projects to work on so I would say to go ahead and make it.

I loved Rosario + Vampire, this manga really makes me wish this was R+V Season III.

That said, the manga is excellent, the art is on point for Ikeda and has that classical occult style that makes even the most typical of mooks and baddies have an air of creepiness and danger about them. (see the latest chapter).

Love the characters. A lot of their mannerisms and styles evoke the personalities of R+V characters. It's amazing.

Anyhow, here's hoping it lasts for a good while, in spite of the reality of manga production. The plot is moving pretty fast with introducing the "top 13" rankings that Chloé will probably outrank, and Kai's backstory is still simmering in the background.

I'd kill for R+V cameos. We already got the Bat, but gimmee morreeee

I'm really hoping the series ends up a sleeper hit, and gets more attention. I'm still really enjoying each chapter, as the group grows and we seem to be touching on the actual plot.

It's also kind of interesting to see a protagonist that is a Christmas Cake, since most series have teens. Sure, Chloe looks rather young but having an adult woman is kind of different and refreshing.

Been enjoying the story so far. Surprised at how Lovecraft-heavy the setting is. Pretty much every characters' names reference something from the Cthulhu Mythos, like "The Cats of Ulthar" or "Herbert West–Reanimator"

I really did not expect it to really fully embrace Lovecraft stuff, but here we are. I guess it's Lovecraft with sexy magical girls and reverse harem antics?

That chapter really leaned heavy into the horror elements, huh? I mean we knew things were headed that way with the amount of Lovecraftian lore. But really starting to hype up, and hopefully it starts to get more attention from here on out.

No, we do not. I had been thinking about that earlier but didn't have time to make one. I think we have enough to build a decent enough one at this point.

Oh man, the plot continues to thicken.

So our new villain is actually after Kai? There's obviously a bigger story going on there, with who this "Oscar" is and why he's revived after seemingly being killed. I sense Kai backstory incoming soon. And everyone gets completely wrecked, one after another. But new power incoming, with Nyarlathotep joining the battle. I wonder what sort of powers we'll get from this combo?

Just binged all the available chapters. This Manga's pretty much exactly what I want out of the premise. Heck, we even got an all-too-rare mass battle sequence!

Loving the monster designs in particular, which kinda surprised me considering it opened with a Bedsheet Ghost army.

Shoggoth only being able to say "Tekeli-li" is one hell of a deep cut.

Yeah, the author seems to be good about doing research. Rosario's one of the few things I've seen that averts Sirens Are Mermaids and portrayed them as mythologically accurate bird people who are also cute Japanese girls with sonic attacks.

At least I'm pretty sure that's how the myths go.

Anyway, it's been fun seeing that attitude applied to Lovecraft.

And the plot continues at a break-neck pace. I do enjoy it, I just hope that this story doesn't end so quick and we have to wait another 6 years to hear from "Akissa" again. But ach, I can't act so entitled... Poor Akissa was sick last month, hopefully he's fully recovered. It'd be unbecoming for me not to be appreciative of the work mangaka's commit to.

The developments are pretty nice. I really liked Kai's new form and I hope to see more of it in the future. Same can be said for Arkham's new strike team, with scouters and everything.

Kai's moment with Chloe here feels very reminiscent of Rosario Vampire. I think the author likes to have their heroes experience an edgy-berserker phase, only to be calmed down by luv/friendship. Still with how quickly things move in GRG, can't help but think Rosario Vampire did it better. I mean, I liked the latest chapters, but my problem is how little time we have to enjoy the story beats.

Great to see it back. I am not terribly knowledgeable about Lovecraft, but I am guessing these new characters are named after characters of his as well?
