Eeeeeeyeah, I think that's a bit of a stretch. The suggestion and current are about equal...I like the pose of the suggestion more, but the current's more obvious about it being a glove. Neither's exactly great quality.

OP, but it could use a quality upgrade.
I genuinely can't tell what's happening in current. The guy on the right does not look like someone who has been slapped, and it took me two or three looks to even see Homer holding the rest of the glove - it looked like some weird floating hand.
I'd be okay with any of the suggestions, but 3 is probably the best in terms of being high-quality, looking like a glove, and showing an impact.

The current has a really weird angle, making it difficult to see what's going on. Any of the suggestions are better. I really like 1, but it has bad quality. 3 is good too. I don't really like 8.

The current falsely gives the impression that the page quotation comes from the same scene as the page image. (It doesn't.) Also, it'd be better to use something where you don't have to look as closely to be able to tell that the glove with which someone is slapped was removed from the hand of the person doing the slapping, rather than just "slapping someone while wearing gloves."
