Not a traditional "Wha Happun?", but this entry in The Mediocre Spider-Matt retrospective series should feel right at home.
Matt covers the cancelled titles in The Webslinger's history. A sequel to Spider-Man vs. the Kingpin (1:27), Ultimate Spider-Man 2(4:09), Marvel Battleworld (7:13), Spider-Man: Web of Shadows sequel (8:11), and Spider-Man 4 (11:10).
Oh boy, Wolverine x Spidey.
ew ew ew
New theme music also a boxDon your favorite Sexy Whatever Outfit and get ready for the next battle because Matt talks about Dead or Alive 6 in today's episode.
The funny thing is, that "more serious and realistic/less fanservicey" approache is also one they had tried to push with the early trailers of DOA5, before backpedalling. The more things change, the more they stay the same, eh.
Still, gameplay wise, was 6 any… good?
Dead or Alive has to be the most misleading name they could have chosen for a fan servicey fighter
New theme music also a boxFrom what I've heard, it's fine.

Help me. I can't get it out of my head.Would anyone else be excited about a "Wha Happun" on "Urbz: Sims in the City" or is it just me? I actually still like some aspects of the game, but find it very odd.
The factor that determines if it's material for "Wha Happun?" is not whether it is "bad," or even "odd" but if it had a troubled development.

Does he bring up the "Core Values" incident from EVO Japan?
Watch SymphogearI think he did indirectly by mentioning how the more conservative costumes are default and more likely to be at eSport events than the unlockable more pervy ones.
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.@Will Keaton: Yes it wasn't particularly notable in that regard afaik. I'm almost certain it was a rush job and it didn't do well enough to warrant the sequel they were making. Maybe I'll join his patreon sometime and see what he says.
On another note… You think Star Citizen/Squadron 42 could qualify for this show at this point? It’s not rare that a game takes a long time to finish, but it’s rare that the Development Hell is exposed for all to see for years and years due to the whole crowdfunding thing.
He doesn't cover games or movies until after they have already been released and he's got details about the production.
So, no, Star Citizen will never be covered on this show. Because it will never be released.
Disgusted, but not surprisedHarsh but fair.
Bleye knows Sabers. It can still be cancelled but, uh, Chris Roberts might want to buy a secret military bunker to hide in before he takes that decision. >.>

New theme music also a boxThis week's episode digs into the confusing plot of the Harvest Moon IP and how it has nothing to do nowadays with the actual series it's supposed to be, now known as Story of Seasons in the west. "The original devs don't own the IP that the series was originally localized under" is a simple enough explanation, but... no, it gets crazier than that. Up to and including the original producer of the Bokujō Monogatari series moving to another studio to strike it out with new projects, which would subsequently be localized under the Natsume that had been making their own games with the Harvest Moon IP for a while by that point. And Lollipop Chainsaw is involved in all this too, of all games.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaSo… wait. This a single franchise that had different names on different markets and those different names ended up becoming two different franchises when the studios’ collaboration ended? Like if "Biohazard" and "Resident Evil" became two different series?
Yup basically. Xseed is also why you'll suddenly see Story of Seasons games on a variety of consoles and PC ports, whereas the earlier games were locked to their native console. So you get stuff like an HD remake of a GBA game on PC.
...Today I learned Marvelous has already bought XSEED.
Here's one I've been incredibly curious about, actually. I liked the first two Lost Planet games a lot but my biggest attraction with them wasn't what they where but what they COULD be. But Lost Planet 3 really just felt like a backslide on every front.
No super juicy details though, ultimately. It just didn't work out.
Bleye knows Sabers. What did you feel they could be?
"I am Alpharius. This is a lie."Basically I just wanted it faster, bigger and with a plot that's actually good.
Thing with Lost Planet is that your characters always feel so... Clumsy. For example, if you drop off a ledge that's a foot high your character will stumble and you won't be able to shoot your gun for a precious second. This is despite the fact that the grappling hook gave you incredible mobility in theory and would let you pull of some insane stunts.
The franchise always felt like it was a few extremely minor adjustments from being the most rockin' TPS of all time.
Bleye knows Sabers.
I'm glad the trend of gritty shooters is gone. After the 50th, they all seemed to blend together. Turok was NOT a franchise that needed it.
Help me. I can't get it out of my head.
