I... assume the part of the description about Reforged on VideoGame.Warcraft needs to modified a bit.

Yeah was shocked to see this one too. Very, very recent.

At least the "Wha Happun" element seems pretty obvious from an external perspective. The Remaster was too big of an undertaking for the amount of time allotted. They promised more than they could deliver and they're not going to go back on the explanations that they gave, either.

The vid basically states that Activision-Blizzard presumably felt they needed to ship something they could put on their fiscal report. Hence Reforged being a rushed mess.

Was Blizzard self-publishing before being bought out by Activision? I think they did right?

Yes. I arbitrarily looked up the original Diablo, and Blizzard is listed as the publisher.

Looks like the next episode will be on Resident Evil 6. Didn't expect that one. surprised

[up]I'm more confused. Like it's one of the games that feels like it's mostly fan outrage than actual background problems.

Larkmarn Since: Nov, 2010 Relationship Status: Hello, I love you
#60: Mar 12th 2020 at 10:50:42 AM

The background problems seem to stem mostly from Capcom going "hey, let's make a game that'll be bigger than RE 5 no matter the cost... so we'll throw a ridiculous number of people at it, and also make it four games in one." Plus drama over how the games' demo shot it in the foot.

[up][up][up] Apparently there were some…

…just more of the "excess of ambition and lack of focus" variety.

edit: double [nja]d

edit 2 Huh, I just realized there was another episode released a few days ago about Thrill Kill. Is it me or has the release schedule become tighter lately?

Wait, wasn't 7 considered "a failure" too when it didn't sell 5 million back in 2018? Or am i misremembering?

It still amazes me how RE 5 is the best selling of the franchise

No, its not considered a failure. Otherwise, RE 2 and RE 3 remakes probably wouldnt exist as they do now with the RE engine.

7 costs way less than 6 to make I think so Capcom made more of a profit.

[up][up][up] RE5 being the best-selling is almost certainly just because of the goodwill generated by RE4. Happens all the time, that's why X-Men: The Last Stand was the best-performing of the original X-Men trilogy, despite universally being agreed to be the worst one.

The first two were really good, so people expected the next (and at the time, last) one to be just as good, so they went in droves. Then that movie tanked all that goodwill and the next three X-Men movies all made less than it, even First Class, which itself then restored a lot of the goodwill.

RE4 was good, so people expected RE5 to be good, it wasn't, so RE6 underperformed, so back to basics with RE7, which was good, so RE2Re sold well, too.

"Finished up the script for the next What Happened, and it's currently being edited. Very pleased with this one, as it chronicles a game that had a myriad of long developmental issues, but wound up being one of the more successful titles of 2016!"

I bet it's Doom! Hopefully.

Yep, for a change of pace we get a game that escaped Development Hell stronger than ever.

"It was originally gonna get distributed by Electronic Arts."

The devs must have felt the cold shiver of death down their spines…

AAAAAAAAAH HA HA HA HA HA!

…Seriously though, I cannot fathom how they managed to make this movie before performance capture was even a thing.

[up] ? But it's not supposed to be an adaptation of a game.

I didn't think it was a bad movie. I'd personally rate it around average.

The premise probably would have worked better as a game, though.

Question, what ads did people get on this? Because I managed to get the freaking Epoch Times and someone hocking herbal supplements which is... distressing, I guess?

I mean when a live-action Arknights ad is the least cringy ad you see, that's terrifying.
