Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

I appreciate your offer to help, but I do want to be sure that you and the 'Brijes are truly ready before you leave here to continue fighting for the Dreamers. (Zuma says to Fire Eyes.) We will leave things to the Elite Alebrijes for the time being.

(Knox looks at the rest of the 'Brijes. They all still seem extremely exhausted, and Knox himself knows he can't just leave them to go off by himself.) ...Guess I'll just...make myself comfortable somewhere, then. (Knox sighs.)

Fire Eyes sighed and looked away. As much as he hated to admit it, Zuma was right. It was likely an evil alebrije would be extremely difficult to face, especially in their states.
"I suppose so... Damn it all, if only I could remember where Raven Beak sent Blood Moon!" the Chozo exclaimed, angry.

If you think we ain’t ready to deal with the “Nightmares”, as you called ‘em, then why don’t we just try to find Blood Moon once everyone is good n’ ready? Or at least look for clues where Raven Butt sent him? (Knox asks.)
That isn’t a bad idea. Perhaps you could even go to some of the places Fire Eyes went before to help jog his memory of where Blood Moon went? While being careful, of course. But that’s up to the others, I suppose. (Zuma says.)
I’m down for looking for clues once we’re rested up and ready. (Joaquin says.)

"I... I am not sure. They had agreed to not interfere with your escape on ZDR, but... I don't think I want to have them involved in this. And since they are likely hunting other Stanfords as we are talking, Raven Beak or one of his elite guards must be constantly watching them. I know they tended to do that, in case we needed reinforcements." Fire Eyes explained to Knox

Then it sounds like our best bet is to continue to work by ourselves if getting Fire Eyes’s friends would be too risky… (Greta says.) I hope we don’t get spotted by Dark Stanford or Raven Beak’s forces while we’re out looking for Blood Moon.
Yeah…or if Blood Moon will even listen to us if and when we find him. (Veena says.)

"I'll think about it," says the prankster, who yawns, "but I think it's way past my bedtime already."
The other foals yawn as well.
"Wish Auntie Pow-Pow was here to see our paintings..." says the green filly.
"I can arrange with Belissima and/or the folks upstairs to send them over to her!" says Justice.
"But what about my paper sculpture?" asks the prankster.
"I dunno if it can fit in the bunker, that's why I thought it would work better as a centerpiece here!"

"It's not every season that your own tribute appreciates you during it, huh?" Power smiles.
"Wish that happened more often than tributes betraying their noms," says 6k1, "but I hope Tina sends me a thank-you letter this coming Death Battle!"
"And when is that?"
"About nine seasons from this coming one, assuming one MM per season!"
Asriel internally cringes, remembering when he mocked Psyche right after killing Asgore in S220.
"Anyway," says the young goat, "after having to sit through all the school rules, we spent the whole afternoon at the school fair!"
"Really?" asks 6k1. "Tell me all about it!"
Eastborough, Eldritch Labyrinth
Once Noelle has made sure that the team's rescuees are alright and healed their injuries (if any), the team continues running.
"Are you saying that we might be able to at least get more rescuers in here to help us?" Berdly Prime asks Libby.
"Hey, don't give the stupid eldritch guy any more ideas to make this goddamn mission harder!" Susie scolds him.
They then hear Ralsei's screams get louder, and they dearly hope that it's really him this time. True enough, they round the corner to find him and Kris fighting off some more flesh monsters.
"Guys, you gotta help us!" Ralsei cries out as he tries tugging his scarf out of a monster's mouth while trying to block the others with one FluffyGuard shield.
The other shield was already destroyed, so Kris, not flinching at all, slices through the monsters attacking the other one. They beckon the team over to help them free Ralsei and get everyone out of this maze.

Very well. I shall send them up. (Belissima's voice echoes.) And I suppose I can keep the boy's paper sculpture down here. I must say, it IS quite a lovely sculpture. Might make for a good keepsake of my little misadventure in this ghastly parallel world.
(A wave of junk brings a glass dome to Prankster Pony's origami sculpture and places the dome over top of it.) There you are, darling! It's safe and sound.

Don't beat yourself up over it, kumpel. (Greta tells Fire Eyes.) If I had been you, I don't think I would have predicted that Ridley would have ambushed me there either. Even Colby wasn't able to catch him in time.

(She wearily leans against Joaquin, who wraps her arm around her and leans his head against hers.)
You two look tired, kumpel. (Greta says.) You should get some sleep. Frankly, we ALL should, really. We're going to need all the rest we can get if we're going to try to find Blood Moon.
We got enough beds here? (Knox asks.)
(Zuma goes over to a small closet and inexplicably pulls enough beds for everyone to sleep on out of it, despite how small the closet looks.) Here you all are. Sebastian loved having visitors, so he made sure to always have spare beds on standby.
Uh huh, checks out. Pa loved invitin' people over to our house when I was a kid, too. (Knox says. He emits a sad sigh.)
(Zuma motions to the large, royal-looking queen sized bed.) You're welcome to use the Elder Alebrije bed if you'd like. (He says to Joaquin and Veena.) It's going to be yours eventually anyway.
You sure, Zuma? (Joaquin asks.)
Positively sure! I don't mind sleeping on one of these smaller beds. (Zuma says.)
(Veena looks at the bed, then looks to Joaquin.) I think we should let Fire Eyes have the big bed, Joaquin. He's been through so much today.
Good point, Veen. (Joaquin says, looking over to Fire Eyes.) Fire Eyes? You down for having the big bed tonight?

Fire Eyes silently nodded at Greta. He could tell everyone was tired.
"If you do not have enough beds, I am willing to sleep on the floor. It won't be the first time." the Chozo proposed. But despite this, Zuma managed to gather enough beds for everyone much to his surprise.
Before he could reach a bed, Joaquin and Veena offered Fire Eyes to sleep in the royal bed.
"I..." the Chozo said, unsure of what to answer.
After all, this was the bed where Coatl used to sleep. The Elder Alebrije that Blood Moon murdered in his madness. That was enough to make the Mawkin uneasy.
"...No. I appreciate your offer, but a simple bed should suffice. The royal bed is yours. After your victory over Ridley, I believe you deserve it." the Chozo said, giving the couple a small smile.

(Veena nods.) Alright. Have a good night, Fire Eyes. (She says, giving him a quick hug before heading to the royal bed with Joaquin.
(Everyone gets into their respective beds.)
Whoa, this bed is super comfy, man. (Joaquin says as he and Veena enter the royal bed.)
Oh yes…almost reminds me of my bed back home… (Veena says. And this is most likely going to be her and Joaquin’s bed going forward, too. She is still a little boggled about this.)
Good night, everyone! Rest well! (Sticky says to the others.)

"Have a good night too. Rest well." Fire Eyes said to the 'Brijes, quickly hugging back Veena as well, before going to bed.
The Chozo looked away from everyone else and sighed, lost in his thoughts before trying to sleep.

"Thanks, Miss!" the prankster tells Belissima.
The other foals also wave to her as she sends their paintings over to Ichi's bunker. They're delivered to the Teleportation Room, which Ichi can retrieve later.
"Now let's get y'all cleaned up before bed!" says Justice.
"Awwwww!" go the other foals.
"That's right, kids!" says the prankster's mother. "This whole place is a mess!"
Eastborough, Eldritch Labyrinth
"Whatever that plan is, we gotta split the work here!" says Berdly Prime. "You two, at least one of you should continue watching over my other self and Philip with Noelle," he tells Libby and the Smol One, "and Susie, help Kris free Ralsei while I deal with the other creatures!"
"Got it!" they say.
And so the trio split up and do as tasked, but the flesh monster that's eating Ralsei's scarf continues tugging hard at it.
"Susie, help!" He cries out as his last shield gets chipped away. He's freezing it in place, so he can't move fast enough to get his scarf out of the creature's mouth without tearing it in half.
Susie steps aside and prepares to swing her axe, but Kris warns her not to.
"So what? He can just buy a new scarf after this!"
Underground Bunker/The Database Library, Basement/Asgore's Home
Frisk and Asriel tell the others about the fair, which was at the school courtyard. While it had the usual carnival flair, it was much, much smaller than Las Pegasus or Beach City Funland, and the rides were slower and more kid-friendly. The carnival games were likewise simpler, but Frisk and Asriel bring out a lot of prizes to show to 6k1, Power, and Ichi.
"And we even got cotton candy and had our pictures at the photo booth!"
Asriel also shows them pics of him doing funny faces at the camera while Frisk's deadpan look was the same all throughout. Toriel likewise shows more pictures she took with her phone, showing her son enjoying pink cotton candy like Ralsei. 6k1 notices that the fair looks similar to, but not exactly like a mini-version of the Cyber City Carnival, but she doesn't point it out.
"I'm glad that you two had fun!" says 6k1.
"Aww, thanks!" says Asriel, while Frisk smiles a little at her.
And soon enough, the Dreemurr Family finish their dinner, and Toriel gets up to clear the table.
"Is there anything else you'd like to talk about before we say goodnight?" she asks 6k1, Power, and Ichi.
"Nothing much else."
"None from me, too. Besides, my fam's waiting for me to finish my dino tour for them!"
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"
"Nothin' on my end."

?'s Pocket Dimension
The portal brought Letooce and her doppelganger into a black void, and it closed behind them. Letooce dropped her sleeping clothes and started screaming at the top of her lungs.
"HELPPPPPPPPPP!"
"Calm yourself, you haven't even been hurt. At least... not yet."
"WHAT?"
The doppelganger gave a sinister chuckle.
"I'm only joking. That isn't what I brought you here for. What I really want..."
She opened another portal for a few seconds, pulling a table and two chair out of it. She moved one of the chairs to the table and sat down.
"Is to have a little chat."
Letooce reluctantly moved the other chair to the table, afraid of what could happened if she didn't do so. Trembling, she sat down.
"Apologies that this place is barren, I don't often use this dimension. I didn't want to waste any time once I found out you were here."
"..."
"I already told you you were safe. Tell me about yourself."
"..."
"Fine. I'll tell you about me. I'm you, from another dimension. I don't actually live there, I'd must rather prefer meeting my counterparts."
Letooce finally tried to speak. "W-Why?"
"I just find them so interesting. Learning their likes, dislikes, their deepest ambitions and fears..."
"So you stalk them?"
"If that were the case, then why exactly am I talking to you? I made sure the others were well aware of me."
"Is that all you do?"
"I'm an observer, not a fighter. It would be a waste if I got rid of you so early. Besides, with the way you're acting and how this multiverse is, it'll be entertaining enough for me already."
Letooce sank into her chair. Her doppelganger didn't seem like she wanted to kill her, but she was still uncomfortable at the thought of her watching her every move, and just what exactly did she mean by "how this multiverse is"?
"You might as well get used to me, because I'll be sticking around for a long time... except for when you go to the bathroom. No."
"That doesn't make me feel too much better..."
Letooce's doppelganger held out her hand for a handshake. "It's been a pleasure to finally meet you, Nominator Letooce."
Letooce didn't move.
"Come on. It's rude to not greet someone you just met."
Letooce reluctantly shaked her hand.
"Nice... to meet... you too."
"You may go back to your universe now. Just one last thing."
Letooce's doppelganger got up and moved her chair away, afterwards facing straight towards Letooce. "Though I'd rather not have to, if you tell anyone about me, I'll make sure that'll be the last thing they ever hear from you. Do I make myself clear?"
Letooce, although she really didn't want to, nodded.
"Good. We'll soon meet again. Bye bye."
The doppelganger opened a portal for Letooce and waved goodbye. Letooce didn't waste a second and rushed through the portal.
Team Fruit Salad's Pit
Letooce arrived back at her room, and as soon as she did, the portal closed behind her. She tried to take a moment to catch her breath, but jumped when someone opened her bedroom door.
"Hi Letooce! Just telling you I data cloned the tributes!" Strawbrey told her as she peaked her head through the door. "Woah, you're kind of jumpy. Did I scare you?" She giggled.
"Nope! Don't worry about it!" Letooce blurted out.
Strawbrey stopped joking around, worried. "Is everything alright?"
"Yeah, really! It's just been a long day. Go enjoy the season already!"
"Alright. Bye." Strawbrey closed the door.
Letooce realized she left her sleeping clothes in the other dimension, and since there was no way she was heading back there, she took out another set and went to shower, still shaking slightly.
The Museum
Another season is here, and Haze was starting to get rather desperate, so he's getting out his most evil tributes yet. Of course, he realizes that this doesn't mean much, but it's the thought that counts?
After getting everything situated, Haze decided to get Hell's Chef into the museum as his cook. This is likely a horrible idea, but… uh… yeah, it's a horrible idea. But it's an experience!
The "good" chef quickly made himself at home in the Chef's Quarters, setting up various supplies and a few warning signs, such as a no smoking sign.
(Oh, right, he hates smoking. I guess I do, too…) Haze thought as he looked at the sign, touching it. After he did this, the Venomicon Haze befriended earlier flew over to observe the new attendant… which only pissed off said new attendant
AH! GET THIS THING THE HELL OUT OF MY WORKPLACE! Hell's Chef quickly started swinging his massive knife at the Venomicon, which darted out of the way
VENO! VENO! VENO! VENOMICON!
Shut up! I'll throw you into the stew if you keep that up!
Hey, hey! We're trying to… at the very least not kill each other! Plus, I doubt a magic book tastes that good.
(Hell's Chef simply gave Haze a death glare) The greatest chefs can work miracles with any ingredient on hand… Would you like a demonstration?
Uh…… no. Haze beckoned for the Venomicon, which quickly darted away, followed by Haze backing away slowly from the Chef's Quarters. Hell's Chef quickly got to work sharpening his knive, ready to make his cuisine
