Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

Mr. Ramon likewise notices the Dark Star and calls 6k1 immediately.
"6k1, I'm afraid we might have to go home already."
"Don't you wanna watch Mikey with the others here?"
"Not when that evil being over there's about to attack your family!"
"What?!"
She sees the commotion going on at the Dreemurrs' table, but keeps her cool.
"I know who that is, and it's not as bad as you think."
"You sure about that?"
"Trust me on this, but you and the kids still have the right to go home if things escalate from here."
Meanwhile, Frisk realizes that this was the same being that pranked them alongside Giratina and Scipion, but they still keep the barrier up.

The Party
The Dark Star completely ignored Toriel and Asgore's actions, thinking of them as meaningless and worthless beings. It hovered before the barrier, looking at Frisk deep in their eyes.
"There is something special about you, mortal. At first, I saw a kind soul. A pure-hearted, courageous human who cares about their friends and family like so many of your kind. However, now that I have a better look at you, there is something more..."
The Dark Star's eyes widen and became brighter, being in a trance.
"Yes... I clearly feel it... It is very faint. So faint and pathetically weak that I highly doubt it will ever grow. But it is here. The moment the young fox did his ridiculous trick on you, I felt this power growing slightly. I see... hatred... bloodlust... darkness... Almost like there is two of you..."
The Dark Star's eyes went back to normal. "I would like to ask you about this faint dark power inside you and eventually empower it. Unfortunately, this is not something I am allowed to do. In a way, we are allies as both of us serve the beings called nominators, so I will respect their wills. But I wonder... will you be able to always repress this dark power? Or will you let them taking over one day? Because if you were to succumb to it..."
The Dark Star then turned around and started to leave, flying to Sans with it's usual angry/annoyed eyes, completely ignoring him and Ralsei. It laid down next to them and finished to spoke "...You will be this dark soul. For the rest of your life."
The Dark Star's eyes and spikes disappeared as well as it's dark aura as it stopped moving, seemingly going to rest and turning into a simple orb with a star's emblem at the center.
Meanwhile Thorax noticed another pony near Twilight and asked Pharynx if he knew her. "Yeah... She's Power Stroke, 6k1's pony counterpart. I was with her when mad Scipion attacked us." "Really? I hope you didn't struggled a lot with him." Pharynx shook his head. "Please stop talking about that. I rather dance with you and these ponies rather than going into a dangerous train under attack again."
Thorax happily greeted Twilight, even is she wasn't from his timeline, as Pharynx simply raised his hoof at her. "That's too bad that your Spike couldn't have come with you. And that's really a nice dress you've got there! It's almost like it was done for a special occasion!" Thorax said to Twilight.
"I also heard that there was something going on with ex-queen Chrysalis. I hope she got punished in your timeline." said Pharynx, more interested by what he considered the biggest traitor in history.
"And will this bother you and Power Stroke if we were to dance with you?" asked Thorax, as Pharynx rolled his eyes. He clearly did not wanted to do it, but he was ready to make some sacrifices for his brother, especially after what he've been throught.

Gale wished on some level that the Twilight of his world was in the party, but she was currently busing handling an issue regarding Cozy Glow, anyways, Pharynx. He'd also like to join in the dance, but he was too shy about joining in.
Gale: Oh man, I'd love to get up there and join Power and pals, but I am kinda unsure about this.
MD: C'mon don't be shy, Galey. No one's out to make fun of you, nor will laugh if you mess up.
Gale: Really?
Mr. Godzilla: Of course, people here love you, they won't make fun, I promise.
Gale: Alright, hopefully this will go smoothly.
He then joined the dance floor, trembling a bit.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."

GC's Base
Ika keeps talking to the other blue punsters, having a great time.
It's time for the Death Battle... and luckily, Zanreo has a few contestants for that. Manga Movie Yoshi, along with RoboKing, the robot replacement for The King of All Cosmos... she wished them luck! She had been working on a way to send in tributes even away from home, and in this case she figured it would be okay to just auto-send them.
Zanreo then overheard her name... only to realize she wasn't the "Zan" they were talking about. "So there's someone else here with my name... interesting..." She then goes over to the dancefloor, changes the music to this and somehow starts spinning around like the Geddan dance.

"Well, somecreature needed to rule the kingdom while I'm out, so..."
Twilight shakes Thorax's hoof in return when he compliments her dress.
"Thanks! This is my coronation gown, redesigned as a party dress by Rarity!"
She turns to Pharynx.
"And yes, our Chrysalis refused redemption, and she teamed up with Cozy and Tirek to spread fear and distrust among the ponies and take over Equestria... So after the final battle against them, we turned them into stone."
Thorax then asks if he and his brother can join her on the dance floor.
"Of course, you can! There's still plenty of space!"
Power sees Gale trot his way to the dance floor.
"Hey there, Gale!" She reaches out her hoof to him. "Want me to teach you some dance moves?"
Frisk just stares at the Dark Star as it makes its speech. Once it vanishes, they desummon the barrier, and Asgore and Toriel cool off their hands.
"Does that mean that Chara might be inside of me? I thought they died long ago..."
"Ah yes... them..." Sans approaches them with empty eyesockets. "I saw an alternate timeline where i fought this soulless child. They were DETERMINED to kill everyone in the Underground..."
Ralsei joins Sans at the table. "I don't know who they are, but killing everyone? That's a terrible thing to do..."
"I don't know why exactly they wanted to do it, but I sensed that there was still good in them..."
"You tried Sparing them, too?" asks Frisk.
"Yes, but I dunked 'em. But they kept coming back to fight me..."
"And were you able to defeat them once and for all?" asks Ralsei.
Sans clenches his fist. "No. I tried stalling them with my special attack... but i fell asleep. Then they killed me right there."
Both Ralsei and Frisk cup their mouths. Asgore and Toriel's eyes quiver.
"The First Child... we thought they were going to free us..."
"But instead our kingdom fell into despair after their death..."
"And all that Asriel said was that Chara hated humanity, so we really don't know why they did that..."
"But whatever happens, my child..."
"We will be here for you."
The royal goats give Frisk a loving embrace. 6k1 walks to them and puts her hand on her sibling's shoulder.
"And if Chara starts taking over you, I'll see if my scientists can purge them out of your body."
"Whoa..." says Carlos, "Sans may be a goofy skeleton, but now I know that no one should mess with him!"
"You're right," says D. A. "When he says that he'll give someone a 'bad time', he means it!"
"As for Frisk over there," says Mr. Ramon, "they're determined in a special way. But now that this 'Chara' might possess them anytime, I really think we should go home."

Gale was a bit relieved that his friend, Power, would teach him some dance moves.
Gale: Alright, Powie, I am ready for those lessons.
Other Dancers
Meta Knight was still hiding out when suddenly Lucina invited him to dance.
Lucina: My dear knight in shining armor, may I have this dance with thee?
Meta Knight: Uh, I am... unsure.
Lucina: C'mon , Meta, you'll have fun and lose all your worries in the dancefloor.
She then picked him up and brought him over to dance. At the same moment the rest of Bale's group, minus Pythor, went out to dance as well, Mr. Godzilla and Mini-Deadpool with one another, Charlie and Alastor, too. While Diny danced alone shaking his heads to the music joyfully.
"Bingo! If two species hate each other, they will wipe each other out on their own."
GC's Base
Changing the track to Harder, Better, Faster, Stronger by Daft Punk, Ichigo begins busting out his best techno turian
impression on the dancefloor... then notices Gale approaching.
"Hoo boy... this is gonna be awkward AF."

Power prances around, weaving her way through the other dancers. She silently cringes as Gale's nickname for her. At least 'Pow-Pow' had a better ring to it...

Zan Partizanne talks to 6k1 again.
"I heard that there's a person that would potentially be a danger to us."
Meanwhile, Kirby cheers on Meta Knight dancing. Ribbon overheard Sans' speech and flies up to them.

Felix stares at the potion in awe. Excited, he slowly, deliberately takes a sip of it. He feels... oddly pleasant and satisfied.
Psyche watches as the members who have acquired powers in their previous seasons - which, if she recalls correctly, are just Suga and Jimin - are depowered. They blink in confusion for a moment, then look down and attempt to call forth their powers. Of course, nothing happens.
"Thanks, Billy," she says. "But what about V's immortality?"
She is then approached by Giratina and gives him a nervous smile. "Ah, it's a pleasure to meet you! I love reading and writing fanfiction; in fact, I run an entire school dedicated to the craft! Basically, it's a form of creative writing where you write stories involving characters, elements and universes from cartoons, books, video games, etcetera. Most of my students write fanfiction directly based on the Hunger Games seasons!" She explains all of this very enthusiastically.
Kirby
GC's Base
Zan replies to the DM.
"I heard of Zorua, who could potentially endanger us."
Ribbon then flies back into Kirby's table.

The party
Pharynx smiled a bit when he heard about Chrysalis's fate. At least, in her world, the tyrant have been punished. Who knows, maybe this will happen to the Chrysalis of his world as well.
His thoughts were interrupted as his brother thanked Twilight and started dancing. "What are you waiting for?"
Pharynx growled. "Well, I never danced before and I'm not exactly thrilled by it. And I don't want to look ridiculous." "Well, I'll teach you then! It's easy, really."
Pharynx cringed and started to ankwardly follow his brother's move. Firebrand watched him and Gale drom afar and silently chuckled mockingly. They're both ridiculous. But at least they're trying their best. he thought to himself. Drinking some beer, he waited for a Metal song to play as they were his favorites.
Meanwhile, Giratina listened to Psyche with interest. "I see. It must certainly be an entertaining activity. Now that I have more free time, I might start writing books as well. I'm old and this something that interested me since a very long time."
He then looked at the BTS's group and frowned a bit. "I have heard many things about you, young ones. You may already be aware of this, but you will have to face people that killed or manipulated you in the past, like Maleficent or Voldemort. I suggest that you should be careful once in the Arena."
Not so far away, Scipion sneaked in behind 6k1, a bottle of water into his hand. "Having fun, are we? And you just have to put these kinds of songs, not exactly my favorites. I've heard there was some problem regarding Zorua, what's exactly the deal with her?"

"Well, that was quite a lot to take in. Why don't we just go..."
He then makes the jukebox play Exponential Entropy once the current song ends.

"Basically," says 6k1, leaning closer to Scipion so he can hear, "they're gonna go Timewrecker by nominating the Multiverse and EVERYTHING."
The music blares across the dance floor. It's too loud for Ichi or Power to hear what she's saying.
Twilight leads the Changelings to the dance floor and hears that the song has changed. She tries dancing to it, but trips on her dress.
"Are you okay?" Power goes to her and helps her up.
"I'm okay, and thanks!"
Twilight dusts off her wings.
"So what about them? Are they just like the ones in our universe?"
"Pretty much, except that their Chrysalis is still at large..."
"I hope she's stopped as well..."
The two ponies continue dancing.
"Rarity, are you okay? We gotta get you and your friends outta here soon!"

GC's Base
Psyche nods with a smile. "Okay! Good luck with that, then!"
The BTS members jump a little when Giratina addresses them. They all look a little worried after the warning, especially Jimin. RM, however, puts on a brave smile. "We will. We'll do our best."
Once V has been made virtually immortal, the boys are ready to be summoned to the fanfic school in order to go to the arena. "Good luck, guys!" Psyche says to them, waving. "I really hope you guys will come out of this season okay."
The boys smile and bow. "Thank you," they chorus. "We'll do our best!" They wave goodbye to everyone, disappearing in a shimmer of golden light. A few minutes later, they appear on their podium in the arena. They all look a little nervous, but they turn to each other and give each other little pep talks, encouraging one another to stay strong and fight through the season.
Meanwhile, Yukari summons and opens a gap, taking a peek at the alternate timelines. One may catch her eye. It appears rather unremarkable at first, hardly any different from the current timeline, but something feels... off. Upon closer inspection, however, one would find that, on BTS' large podium, Jimin is standing on the edge of it, remaining as far away from the other members as he can manage. The other members are all facing away from him, staring off into space with worried expressions on their faces. V's stance is stiff. His eyes are clouded and showing no emotion at all, and he doesn't react when Jungkook rubs his back in a feeble attempt at comfort.
He looks... broken. Completely and utterly broken, as though his soul had left his body, leaving only an empty shell behind. The other members, including Jimin, continuously shoot him worried glances. Suga is clenching his fists so hard that his knuckles are turning white. All in all, it's a rather depressing scene - a far cry from the determination BTS are now showing in the current timeline.

GC's Base
Kirby bids farewell to the BTS as they vanish. After the last song finished, Kirby jumps into the dance floor and turns on his own music, before dancing up and down. Adeleine joins and commands the others to join.
The Spacepod
Bebe wakes up after hearing the commotion inside. She then runs out of the Spacepod and into the base. Inside the base, she jumps into Kirby and hugs him. Kirby hugs her back.

Light and Hope

After Navi departed, Dave, Fira, Link, and Tatl decide to take a walk, before Zarblin suddenly shows up again. Link raises an eyebrow.
"Really? Him again? What's up with this guy, anyway?"
"I believe it's a Bokoblin-type, from the Era of the Wild," Fira says.
"Well, shoot. Seems like he mistook you for the Hero of the Wild," Dave quips, before summonng shadow hands to briefly restrain the Bokoblin.
"How about I do a little help?" the Advisor offers. Link nods.
The Advisor then chants something, before suddenly the Hero of Time's body is enveloped by a bluish-golden aura.
"A Shield spell? Doesn't that only nullify physical and elemental hits?"
"I modified it to act more like a mix of Shield and Reflect. It allows him to nullify physical attacks and cut elemental wounds in half.... and shocks something he perceives as a threat. Like this Bokoblin, for example. I made it last a bit longer than the normal versions too."
"Oh, okay. Besides, if all else fails, there's always a certain mask," the Lord of the Home Base comments.
"I really don't want to resort to that, but I will if he leaves me no other option. Other than that, I guess just leave him be?"
"Perhaps we should. Best to ask Scipion, since I believe he's the one bringing the Bokoblin along, anyway," Dave comments as they approach the Zoroark in question, who's chatting with 6k1.
"Hey, Scips. Was wondering where the hell have you been. Say, what's with your Bokoblin friend, anyway? Other than the Hero confusion part, we already figured that one out."
Meanwhile, Starfall approaches the dance floor. Going towards the jukebox, he waits for the current song to end, before entering a DJ mashup, which then transitions into the remix of Linkin Park's first single. He then starts to dance on it himself, doing a not-too-good-but-not-too-bad job at it.
In another area, Ninten has just finished eating some prime ribs when suddenly he hears someone calling him. His blood runs cold. That voice.... it can't be anyone else, now can it? Sighing and mustering his will, he begins to speak.
"It's certainly been a long while, isn't it.... Giegue?"
The boy then turns around to face his old enemy. However, upon coming face-to-face with him, Ninten notices that something is odd.
"You seem different than what I remember. The years haven't been kind to you, I suppose?" He sighs again, before continuing. "The years haven't been too kind to me either, truthfully. I've heard of and seen a lot of things ever since our battle. Such as your return, your second defeat.... Another one of which happens to be an illusion spell that allows me to look like I was back then for as long as I can manage. All to live out some expectations and to look like I don't really know much about what happened during your second defeat. In fact, I'm not sure if I'm even the same Ninten as I was back then. (sigh) But you're not here to listen to me rambling, I know. However, if you wanted to kill me, I'm sure you would have tried it already. I think you wanted to say something. So what gives, Giegue?"
Ninten closes his eyes, sighing once more and pondering over the years. His life is indeed never the same after that adventure. All of this because of his great-grandfather's foolish mistakes....
"I wonder if things could have went differently...." he unwittingly says out loud.
Hope: "Let's go. We'll be together." Lightning: "I only know... that soon, we'll be together."

Gale: Apology accepted Ichi, believe me, you're not the first person that has tried to kill me, still I can at least understand you were under pressure, so it's all good!

The Arena
The Spigell-controlled Peacekeeper finds the site where the Hector is buried. After a long day of digging, he finally digs it up.
"Your service was admirable, human. But we must part ways."
It removes its tentacles from its brain and jams them into the Hector's CPU.
"Ughhh... What just happe..."
He then sees the Hector rise up.
"And now... you must die."
It stomps on the Peacekeeper.
"At first, I was like "hmmm, yeah, buff choccy bunny." But bro: I don't think it's a joke anymore..."
Det. GC's Base
Just as Eredars was watching the trailer for Half-Life: Alyx on his tablet, the Dark Star appears.
"Awwww, just when it was getting good!"
Galis readies her katana in case it attacked them.
"One sudden move, and I will strike you down!"
