Welcome to HGS: Another Side Another Story. It is a roleplay spinoff for the Hunger Games Simulator forum game, akin to both the RP's in the Roleplaying section as well as the ITTs in Forum Games. It tells the story of the Hunger Games in the Arena of Panem, the nominators who sent the tributes, the tributes themselves both in and out of the Arena or even other people relevant to the Games. In addition, it also tells their stories beyond the Arena.
You can jump right in with any character, like your nominator self, your tributes, etc. The structure of this RP will be open-world. Don't worry about not being skilled/experienced enough or being new to RP'ing. Finally, ASAS accepts any skill level or RP style. Other than these, there are some important rules to note, which are:
- No godmodding will be allowed or tolerated here. The offending player will be given punishment depending on the severity.
- Please communicate anything important you plan on another player with the said player first. Don't just execute it without their consent.
- Don't be rude to other players, both out and in-universe. This extends to RP offenses like railroading, guilt-tripping, coercing, or other forms of forcing them.
- This RP is related to the Hunger Games Simulation:Beyond the Possibilities forum game. Thus it will have events based from that game, including the tributes. This means if you want to RP as tributes, please nominate them officially on the thread first, with misses not being counted. This has to be done after an incident with a player who hasn't joined the game itself yet.
- Since this RP is Loose Canon in relation to the main HGS thread, the host's interpretation of events isn't necessarily 100% canon. Every player has the right to deviate from what the host says and go with their own interpretations. If multiple players have their tributes involved in the same event(s), please communicate with each other so that you're on the same page regarding how you see them.
- This RP chronicles the lives of the nominators and their tributes behind the scenes. While dark plots are acceptable, the overall tone of the RP should be light-hearted and comedic. This RP is not a Cosmic Horror Story or action story about defeating evil. It is a Slice of Life comedy with some adventure to it, first and foremost. Our previous RP, Convergence, is not representative of the intended tone, and the grimdark tone of that RP is one of the main reasons it was retooled.
- Nominators and tributes alike can transform into Pokemon whenever they enter a Pokemon Mystery Dungeon World (but they can bypass this with certain items/methods or shapeshifting) or via other means outside it such as a season event, Transformation Trinkets, or shapeshifting. The players are free to choose the Pokéforms that best suit their characters and even give them color schemes outside the standard and Shiny colors, but there is a hard rule for this. If you want your character's Pokéform to be a Legendary, Mythical, or Ultra Beast, please ask the RP mods for approval. Outside the Arena, these Pokéforms are still OP, but we want to give leeway for tributes who theoretically can have them such as deities.

Detective Gamechanger's Base
A sharp-dressed man in a green suit and yellow tie is standing by the entrance of the base. He is of average height and has whitish skin, though still a bit darker. He is Billy, one of the nominators and the organizer of the party.
Indeed, after the nominators' returned and settled their problems, they decide to have fun with a party. Billy also sent invites for all the other nominators out there, as well as basically anyone else, including tributes, non associated parties, interested nominators who haven't participate yet, or even those who just wants to hang out.
The place itself in the base is refurbished for party purposes. Fancy chairs and tables are set everywhere for people to relax, as well as put food and other objects for the latter. There's also various collections showcased, including those belonging to the Detective, like his classic cars. Various themes to the base are set too, including detective noir as GC would have preferred.
Billy is now awaiting for other guests to arrive. He is also ready to give them a pleasant surprise during the party pertaining to his nation.

Psyche thanks Billy for his offer to help with the potion. She nods thoughtfully as she listens to Eirin. "I see..." She turns to V. "What do you think, V?"
V considers it for a moment. "I think it'd be better that way," he says quietly. "Me... being able to die, I mean."
Jin, meanwhile, grins at Cirno and Ika. "I hear you two are worthy of our little club here." He looks up at the sound of Power's voice, spotting her and Carlos. He turns to Sans. "That would be them right over there, would it?" He sees Psyche run over to them and greet Power, giving her a brief stroke of her mane. She then moves to hug whom Jin recognises as Ichigo, with a cheerful cry of "Big bro!"
Unfortunately for Maki and Felix, the danmaku is too much for them, and try to dodge as they might, they are each thrown backwards by the attacks. Maki is then karate-chopped by Sandy. Neither of them are seriously injured, but they're both very annoyed.
Maki dusts herself off as she gets back on her feet, glaring at her attackers. "Who dares to mess with the Great Ninja Maki?"
Felix, too, seethes at those who have intervened. "I'm gonna-"
He is interrupted by Billy Mays' offer of the Felix Felicis, and his eyes widen at the proposition. "Ah... I know what this does!" he says. "Maybe if I take this, everyone will follow my dress code for once!" He pays Billy Mays without a second thought, apparently forgetting about what had just transpired.

Pecan attempts to pick up a twitching Tabby as best she can. Black colored veins pop out of her skin.
"Well, she wasn't drinking alcohol, she was drinking Coca Cola. She seems to infected by something judging by the abnormalities I see. There might be an unwanted guest here."
She drops an unconscious Tabby on the ground with her overwhelmedness. She tries to wake her up.
"Errgh..."
Pecan looks the spill on the floor. It looks familiar to her.
"Wait, that might be Nightmare Fuel!"

Power's group is instantly greeted and dogpiled on by the guests.
"Whoa whoa whoa, slow down! We've just arrived!"
Tabby then tells her that 6k1's Arena tributes died.
"Wait what? We were having so much fun coming here I missed part of the season! I'll go ask her later for the recap."
Susie also introduces herself to Ralsei, who does the same before looking at her with a derpy face.
"Are you sure you're not a pink dinosaur?"
6k1 sees Ichi and approaches him.
"Hey there! I'm glad you all made it safe! Tell me all about it!"
Sans also notices Carlos and Power and uses a shortcut to go to them.
"yo carlos! power! jin and i have been eggspectin' ya."
He holds up a plate of scrambled eggs as he says this.
Power's group was about to split off when Tabby starts succumbing to the Nightmare Fuel. 6k1 announces on her earpiece:
"We don't know for sure who spiked it, but parents, keep watch of your kids. Ralsei, be on standby for healing. The rest, stand your guard. If things get worse, you can go home."
"Gotcha!"

Light and Hope

Fira listens to Tabby's words as she takes a nearby can of potato chips and eats it.
Nemo smiles at the Ramons' response. "I hope for the best to you, Mikey. You're a good friend."
Soon enough, Dave and his group arrives, and the base's security system allows them entry. Dave, seeing Fira snacking on some potato chips, approaches her. "Hey, it's nice to see you here safe and sound."
"I should have been the one to say it, Lord Dave."
"Enough with the Lord thing, will you? This is a personal party, not a formal occasion, so you can just call me Dave here."
"Okay.... Dave."
"That's more like it."
"You should ask 6k1 something though; I believe she mentioned about someone named Zorua planning to create a second Great Destruction by nominating EVERYTHING...."
"(sigh) This old Timesucker stunt again? I'll ask her about Zorua later."
Then Tabby suddenly faints. "Wait, what? What's going on?" Dave ponders aloud.
Meanwhile, Riku and Kairi stumble upon Felix and Maki's duel. They decide to stand back, and prepare their Keyblades ready in case Felix attacks them, since they have been told some time ago about his.... very unusual code.
On another area, Link and his companions are taking a small dinner, when suddenly they see the BTS members.
"Oh boy. Here's hoping they're not gonna go kill on sight...." Link sarcastically remarks.
Ninten, meanwhile, is looking the future Chosen Four. Then he suddenly realizes something from earlier.
"That Scipion guy we encountered earlier.... For some reason, I just realized that.... Giegue's PSI aura was also near. Could it indeed be that he had been revived by that guy after that season? Hmm.... Then again, I'm sure if that's the case, he'll avoid me or the future Chosen Four when that Scipion arrives here. So best not to tell Ness and his friends about it right now." he thinks to himself. Soon enough, he spots Ness and Paula, and waves at them.
The Faraway World
From beyond existence as is known to almost all beings other than themselves and two other entities, five hooded being are sitting in thrones, watching over events. They are called the Overseers. Joining them is the mysterious Entity of Balance, Nomnus Statera. It appears to be a figure in grey, with its features neither male nor female.
They make note of Zorua's plan, and scoffed at their plan. As if they actually knew that existence doesn't stop at what is perceived as everything....
Shang Tsung's Palace
The great sorcerer Shang Tsung also happens to be watching the recent events in the Arena, alongside an avatar of his current master: the Entity of Darkness, Terminus, one of the two other entities who knows of the true scope of creation. He appears as a masculine figure in black. He also hears of Zorua's plan, and also scoffs at their plan.
"Foolish one. One who knows nothing can understand nothing. And the only known tech capable to do something at that scale in this plane was those devices made by Timewrecker, which my group had looted off his ship after his fate. They will soon learn.... that there is a biggest fish out there."
Unknown place
Somewhere within existence, a feminine figure in white is also looking at the events in the Arena. Her name is Genesis, the Entity of Light, and the other entity who knows of what lies beyond what is perceived as "everything" by the likes of Zorua. She simply raises an eyebrow at hearing their plans.

So... Ridley didn't joined us yet. That's a good sign, I hope our favorite parents killer make it to top 3, or even better, become the mass murderer of that season. Scipion thought as he was lying down on Giratina as the dragon finally made his way to the party. Scipion then jumped off of him, followed by Firebrand, Zarblin, the Dark Star, Giegue, Pharynx and Thorax. But just as they arrived, he saw Tabby throwing up a liquid he knew too well.
"Nighmare Fuel? How did this idiot drank some? I just arrived and I'm greeted by this..."
This clearly didn't pleased the Zoroark as he angrily walked towards Tabby as the rest of his group simply watched. "Out of the way. I might be able to remove it from her if it's not too late. Nobody wants another nightmare fuel incident."
Zarbling began to approach Link naively. He didn't knew at all about the Hero of Time, but something intrigated him since he shared a bound with the hero of hiw own era. Snoring loudly, he began to sniff Link.
Giegue noticed that the Dark Star was right. Ninten and the Chosen Four were here. Uneasy, he began to float to the other side of the party. Thorax noticed it and after reassuring his brother that he would not go too far, began to follow him.

Akumo has seen Scipion walk towards her.
"nOt ThIs BaStArD aGaIn!! He WaS aNoThEr FaIlEd AtTeMpT bY tHeM... mY pLaNs ArE dEfInItElY gOiNg To Be FoIlEd By A hUgE cHaNcE."
It stops spying through a ceiling window in the base and disappears into the woods.

Once greetings have been made, he prepares to comment on the Tabby situation when Scipion arrives in time to extract the Nightmare Fuel, much to his relief.
"Well, Scipion... you may be a bit of an a-hole, but at least you're not 100% a dick."

Neptune is now at the snack table, looking for... "Pudding! This party is just getting better..." she says as she grabs a cup.
Ika grins. "So, seems like I have some worthy opponents already... but I'm not gonna clam down just yet, suckers! Better jet ready, because I inksist on winning this..."
"Well, I've played a bunch of Kirby games - that's where I learned about him - and also you, though I admittedly haven't gotten too far in that game, the Kirby 64 one..." Zanreo says as she starts rambling about the games.
Meanwhile, Meito Anizawa is excitedly watching the fight between Maki and Felix. "A real epic anime-style swordfight! Hell yeah! And... some sudden new challengers appeared too? This is just getting better!" he shouts as fire starts burning around him.
Later, as Zanreo sees Tabby has collapsed, she runs over to her. "Hey, you alright? What happened - wait, Nightmare Fuel? But how?"

Bale looked at Tabby concerned and spoke up.
Bale: Oh no, Tabby! It was Nightmare Fuel, I wonder who was the one to spike the drinks with it.
He turned to his group and told them
Bale: Guys, be careful not to drink those things.
He then saw Alastor drinking one of the spiked beverages, and suffering no effect whatsoever.
Bale: Except for you, Al.

Ralsei approaches Tabby and uses Heal Prayer on her. 6k1 then checks her pulse.
"We need to keep watching over her in case there's still NF in her body. If she starts acting unusual, then I'm afraid she will have to go home."
Several of her tributes groan, even Power, but understand that Tabby's health comes first.
Toriel comes back with Asgore, the latter still holding his mouth.
"I am never consuming chocolate ever again..."
He then sees the unconscious Tabby.
"Huh? What happened to her?"
"It was the Nightmare Fuel, Asgore, but it seems the others have already taken care of it."
"Who spiked her drink?"
"No idea, but it's over now."
6k1's tributes regroup and take the time to recover from what they've just witnessed. They then receive the signal that it's safe to party again.
Power calls Ichi over to share their forest adventure with the DM. She sees Twilight being taken aback by the Changeling Brothers' unreformed states.
"Don't worry, they're from an alternate Equestria!"
"Alright, but I'll still be careful around them!"
Carlos rushes to his family and gives his brother a hug.
"Good luck in the Death Battle! D. A. and I will be cheering for you!"
Seeing that Power's still busy, Sans goes to Carlos and tells him about the Blue Pun Clan.
"Sure thing, Funny Bones! Sign me up!"
D. A. wanders around while reading her guidebook, while Ralsei looks for Kirby!Susie, still curious about her.
Frisk then SAVES their progress and gives their mom a hug.
"Awww! May I hug them, too?" asks Asgore. "We'll be like a family again."
Toriel thinks about it for a moment, and allows her ex-husband to do so. Maybe she's not ready to reconcile with him yet, but she's already taking baby steps.

Jin follows Sans to where Power and Carlos are. He smiles brightly and reaches out to shake their hoof and hand, respectively. "Greetings, fellow blue punsters! I'm Jin. Worldwide handsome." He chuckles. "I don't know many English puns... but I do know a lot of Korean ones!"
He turns to Ika with a smirk. "Tsk, tsk. Overusing puns isn't the wave to go." Again, his tone is light and playful.
Psyche, meanwhile, observes the commotion with Tabby with a worried look on her face.

"On my way, Pow-Pow!"
Ichigo joins Power in telling 6k1 about their adventure leading them to the party.
"So all in all, it was a mostly uneventful nature walk rather than the crazy adventures I heard y'all went on before the last two parties. Truth be told, I was just a tad disappointed."

"Other than that prank Scipion pulled on us, the kids had so much fun!" says Power. "I'm just glad we didn't get into too much danger!"
"To be fair Ichi," says 6k1, "the road's relatively safer than the mountain."
Power sees Carlos also telling his family about the trip, then gets approached by him, Sans, and Jin.
"Oh, the Blue Pun Clan? Sure thing! My name can be considered a pun if you look at it that way!"
"and jin," says Sans, "i had to one-up ika and cirno with my own flurry of puns, but i didn't restrict myself to just bone puns! diversity is key!"
"And you make foreign language puns?" asks Carlos. "I know a classic one!"
He whispers into Sans's ear canal, and the latter disappears. Sans instantly reappears with a glass of milk in hand.
"Hey Sans, what are you drinking?"
"soy milk."
"Hola milk, soy Carlos!"
They high-five each other. Power giggles.
"Is that all? If so, let's go and meet the others!"
After they've left, 6k1 just realized something.
"Ichi, I'm rather surprised Power didn't get flustered when you said her nickname."
She takes one more look at the TV and sees that the season's almost over.
"I wonder who the final Death Battle contestant will be..."
"So you were pranked by an evil fox?"
Frisk nods.
"And there was a girl that you wanted to befriend, but your friends doubted it?"
They nod again.
"And you also shared stories with the others?" both Asgore and Toriel ask.
Frisk nods one more time.
"I was worried you might get lost or injured..."
"But we're glad you're safe!"
"Thanks."
"And Frisk, about this 'Ralsei'..."
"He's over there talking with that girl named Susie, thinking she's from Kris's world..."

"Still, I was hoping for the excitement and, well... actual adventure that y'all had in your pre-party quests. Now I kinda wish the mountain option hadn't been struck down without so much as a vote..."
He watches as Power inevitably gets swept up by the other Pungeon Masters, sighing and shaking his head.
"All these pun lovers associated with the color blue gathering in one place and forming their own little private club... I kinda feel like you arranged for it with all your Batman-level planning, 6k1," he says. "As for Power not being embarrassed by her nickname, I dunno what to tell ya. Guess she finally realized it wasn't that bad or something."

"Well, when your mountain trip suddenly had a surprise appearance by a certain nightmare fox along with his eldritch minions..."
Ichi then mentions the Blue Pun Clan. She laughs nervously.
"You should go ask Carlos's dad, it was his idea!"
"Well, Mr. Ramon, our little field trip was tame in comparison to the one we told to the others, and also all our field trips before, but we still had fun!"
"Really, D. A.? Maybe next time you should invite all your classmates here!"
"Yeah!"
"And good luck to you too, Mikey!"

"Oh, yes, it could be," Jin tells Power. "'Pow-Pow' sounds like a good name for a young superhero, like Anpanman!"
He laughs with mirth at Sans and Carlos' pun. "That's a good one! I'd tell you guys a Korean pun, but I don't think I can explain it very well... the translator ARMY make them easy to understand for international ARMY, though!"
He glances up at the television screen. "Oh no, it looks like that season's almost over... I'm going to be in the Death Battle with your brother soon, Carlos."
Psyche approaches the group. "Another blue tribute who likes puns?" she says in response to Eredars. "Seriously, what's with punsters and the colour blue?" She giggles.

"Well, the original plan for me was to nominate an Oceanid by the name of Nepto Cassadora and have some scientists modify its genetics and mind even more to spout out puns more often, but I might just nominate a blue tribute that's naturally puny, like Batman and Robin! Mr. Freeze."

She shows the others a picture of a red pony with a black bar as a cutie mark.
"Her name's Pun Pony, and her mark's a one-liner!"
Sans and Carlos gasp.
"i know my bro hates 'em, but sometimes he can't help but giggle at 'em!"
"While my bro doesn't mind them at all! And speaking of him..."
Jin then tells Carlos that he's about to leave for the Death Battle with him.
"Well then, good luck to you and your crew!"
"we'll just watch ya... behind the scenes."
Power winks and makes a rimshot sound.

Walking into the base alongside Power, Ichigo waves to the other partygoers.
"Sorry we're late, I just wanted go on one of those adventures that Power and some of you fine folk have experienced on your way to the last two parties. It was surprisingly more of a peaceful nature walk than I expected."
He notices Gale and decides to get straight to addressing the elephant in the room. Or he would have, had Tabby not fainted after one drink.
"Okay, who spiked the drinks?"
