Misused (alt names crowner Feb 9, 2020): Those Two Bad Guys

Any objections to making the move now? A mod will need to create Bumbling Henchman Duo and move the the sandbox contents there.

I think the sandbox needs to explain a bit more what the trope actually is and a bit less refer to other tropes such as Laughably Evil.

The second paragraph doesn’t do it for you? What information is missing?

I think it's good to go, but if you believe anything else should be added, specific suggestions are welcome (general suggestions, i.e. "the description should explain better what the trope is" is useless at this point).

We're at 2207 wicks. A difficulty here is that when a Those Two Bad Guys wick is ZCE or potholed into a character duo's names, typically it's hard to decide whether they're a Bumbling Henchmen Duo or not.

Just delete these unidentifiable links.

Thoughts on the video example before I take care of it?

Definitely doesn't fit Bumbling Henchmen Duo. It's probably Big Bad Duumvirate meets Villain Decay? I haven't played Kingdom Hearts so I'm not sure.

Looking at the example list for Big Bad Duumvirate, one of the characters involved was listed...with someone else.

...and looking at what we have for TTBG's pic, that looks to be JAFAAC as well, so that's not being carried over. Now to look at the quote and the quote page to see if they can be moved to the new name.

Someone keeps re-adding the wicks. I swear it was 2164 yesterday, now it's 2167.

When you check the page histories before editing, and you find that someone's adding it (or, you know, could be a wick that wasn't there before), be sure to PM.

We have a number of subpages that probably should be cut after moving fitting examples to Bumbling Henchmen Duo.

Also, the worst wicks to be cleaned up are when the sentence just refers to a pair of characters as Those Two Bad Guys, assuming everyone knows which characters they're talking about. I usually try to look up on the work's page who the example refers to and swap the example with the characters' actual names, but it's often difficult.

I just cut sinkholes or, if the sentence absolutely hinges on this, replace with "a pair of bad guys" or similar. Makes it a lot less stressful.

I cleaned out enough wicks to bring it to under 2000.

One question: do Croup and Vandemar from Neverwhere qualify for Bumbling Henchmen Duo, i.e. are they funny and clumsy? I have not read the book, so I have no idea, I only see that they are the most often potholed as Those Two Bad Guys.

No, and that's one of the biggest things giving me reservations about the thread's conclusion. Like SniperJ said on the previous page, I think they're examples of a legit trope that matches up to (part of what) Those Two Bad Guys is currently describing:
