I have a relative like that who give me a lot of guff. Hence I usually just play it off tv or when he's not around.

Of course, this is a guy who loves reality tv, was an ardent fan of Smallville back when Superhero fiction was not popular, and thinks both Dragonball Evolution and The Last Airbender are completely faithful to the source material....which he's also watched mind you.

Fittingly, she at least likes the Supports and relationships now, if not the combat section? Does she ship Annie/Felix generally?

She’s the kid of my neighbors and they left her with us because they have to risk going abroad for something.

Haven’t hit twenty yet and I’m respected by adults. This is so going to look good on my record.

So I'm just now seeing the reactions to my post and oh thank fuck I thought I'd TOTALLY weirded everyone here out! I came up with it while my dad was drunk and playing his music really loud and I was blasting kpop in my headphones to drown him out while playing the game and it just... I don't know how or why it came to me, it just did. (Probably doesn't help that the friend who got me to play this game and the other friend who plays it are both kpop fans themselves, heh...)

I think Catherine & Seteth's ending was changed between updates iirc, but don't quote me on that one.

EDIT: I believe it erroneously used the VW ending on the AM route or something akin to that.

So, uh... I guess I proved some of our info about CF triggers outdated, because I just saw the short version of Coronation actually happen in the game.

I have no idea why she was in the monastery, I ignored her to the point of her not even being an option for the Goddess Tower date.

What I was trying to do was to confirm that her C rank doesn't have any earlier cutoff point, because it being on the same timer as C+ didn't make a lot of sense to me. Turns out it really doesn't, and I could in theory stuff her with food and gifts late into Chapter 10 to unlock CF. Anyway—

I rejected her when she wanted to unlock her C and let it sit on the menu, annoying me with that (!) marker. This is also how I found out (via a couple of backup saves) that you apparently need points for a B for the Goddess Tower option. Come Chapter 11, and it's still there. Remember how I was puzzled by this condition in said C rank? That's how you trigger it.

Then I looked at the monastery map, and sure enough she is in her usual spot in the Entrance Hall. Talking to her results in the option-less Coronation event, after which she vanishes from both the monastery and the support list.

Fascinating. The "unused" short version goes more into Developer's Foresight territory then, given that is pretty easy to get Edelgard's supports without trying.

EDIT: Wait, she vanishes from the support list as well? That's...actually pretty cool.

Meaning, the version of her C-support with no Sothis can only be watched between the start of the chapter and talking to her.

I've looked up some guides, and most of them don't even mention the Goddess Tower scenes having any support requirement, so I guess a support lock is one of those cases where you wouldn't know there's a failure condition unless you're trying to fail on purpose. Byleth has a ridiculous number of ways to bond with everyone, after all.

Edit: Okay, this is great. I have a save from the start of the chapter, so instead of talking to her I got her to C+ via food, sauna and instructing, then explored again on Week 2, and now she totally wants me to attend her coronation. After I literally ignored her for ten chapters.

That reminds me, does Edelgard's support log also disappears during Chapter 11 if you don't have her C+ support? In BE, that chapter's mission has a weird quirk where checking the support log just before the fight reveals Hubert's supports disappear while Edelgard's remain.

On the battle prep menu? I skipped to the mission, and her entry is still there. Hubert's isn't, but he was out and off the list from the start of the chapter.

You're her senpai (in the trope sense, since yes, literally speaking, this isn't quite right) and totally finally noticed her, so of course she's going gaga.

Unfortunately for her, in this timeline her senpai is into more questionable kind of relationships.

So playing through the game for the third time I'm just now really noticing that there are stories of people disappearing ever since the start but no one seems to actually do anything about it until Flayn goes missing. It kinda leaves a sour taste in my mouth. There is actually a possible exception to this, in that the very first chapter has Rhea talking about getting a report from Shamir about a "suspicious individual" that the plot never elaborates on, but it seems kinda off. Are we actually supposed to believe that Shamir was on the death Knight's trail for five months but failed to figure out his identity?

It's the everyone is incompetent till Byleth can solve the plot syndrome. Like if Shamir caught Jeritza who would the Students and Byleth fight?

Still it does indeed say a lot that there were disappearances but they only really cared when the noble girl sister of the high ranking member of the Church was a victim.

Kinda like how everyone only cares about Rhea dying at the end of SS not the countless amount of people transformed against their will.

We don't know what became of them, now that I think on it. And their transformation and berserk state was directly tied to Rhea's own, so there'd be reason to wonder if they reverted back if they were still alive as well.

But this also details just how busy the Knights are currently, since only Balthus reveals students being sent on missions was never a thing when he attended, and now cause of all the mayhem in Faerghus its required. Even if the students on some like Lonato are supposed to act as support at most.
