I remember this being mentioned at one point. Looked promising.
Dude, the thread's only a day old, and we don't even have that much information on the game yet.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Sounds like that’s more the fault of their marketing, then. When was the last time anybody saw an ad for a game costing less than $40 in a place the general public would see it, anyway? ...Come to think of it, when’s the last time I even saw an ad for a game that I didn’t specifically seek out promotional materials for?...
SoundCloudI think "crash and burn" is a bit of an exaggeration. They don't do gangbusters, but they do modestly well enough for what they are- i.e. modestly budgeted games.
...like, HarmoKnight released to decent critical reception at least and I don't think Tembo the Badass Elephant did too shabby either. It's not Pokemon tier for obvious reasons but they still get as much buzz as a digital-only game could ever ask for. I don't think Town's gonna be any different, especially since the game's pitch ("RPG that takes place entirely within a single town") is inherently frugal where resources are concerned.
🏳️⚧️she/her | Vio Rhyse AlberiaDepending on when it comes out in the US, I'll give this a shot. It looks pretty, too.
Watch SymphogearI'll get it. It looks nice and I'd like yo support GF branching out.
Was kind of hoping it'd be out before Pokemon and while that's still possible, I wouldn't be surprised if it got delayed until after Pokemon and ended up coming out early next year instead.
As much as I want to be optimistic, I wouldn't be surprised if Game Freak advertised Town as "from the creators of Pokemon." In other words, Advertising by Association.
Despite everything, it's still you.GameFreak has applied for the trademark "Little Town Hero."
Looks like this is going to be the name of this game. Fully expect the official reveal in the next Direct.
"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."I really like that name. It's cute, and definitely more creative than just "Town".
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.October 16th; name confirmed as Little Town Hero
I didnt expect it to come out so soon, with the info drought and all. Money is kinda tight but ill put it on my backburner.
I love Axe's flaming Pickaxe/shield weapon.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Huh. So it looks like a puzzle/rpg, where it's about strategy rather than spamming attacks. From what little we see in the trailer, beating the various enemies/bosses is about figuring out the right moves and when to call in the right assists at the right times.
While it's a different genre, that kind of reminds me of Punch-Out!!.

"The difference between reality and fiction is that fiction has to make sense." - Tom Clancy, paraphrasing Mark Twain. The style is so cute and Puni Plush that it feels like Little Dragons Café with fighting elements. I hope this game is decent and doesn't bomb; GF should make stuff outside of Pokemon.
I liked Little Dragons Café on paper but in practice the lag kinda killed it for me XD;
The Protomen enhanced my life.Looks promising, and it's a big step forward for Toby Fox.
And Yeesh, I've never seen so many people on social media upset at the fact that a studio is making a game not connected to a billion-dollar IP.

Starting up a new thread for Town, a Nintendo Switch game by Game Freak set to release this year.
Recently a new screenshot has been released, with a character being shown fighting against a bird-like monster. Anybody else think that this game'll be at E3? Because I'm sure it is, and I want to know more about it.
