Currently, Star Wars: The Clone Wars is referred to as an installment, but I believe that it should be called a series instead since it's mainly a TV series. What do you guys think?

An episode is an installment of a series. That series is an installment of the franchise. That franchise is one installment of the Creator.

So should I refer to TCW as a series in general?

I'd also like to add that Star Wars Rebels and Star Wars Resistance are also referred to as series, so I'd like to also call The Clone Wars a series as well.

TCW can definitely be called a "series", albeit not in the Series/ namespace. Not sure what the issue is.

I had a dog-themed avatar before it was cool.
