Lily – Sorcery Class

Lily looked conflicted by the handshake anyway, so an inner part of her almost accepted the rather startling hug from behind. Though with that came a whole slew of other issues; namely the hot flush she got that would definitely be considered unacceptable to the rest of the Aquatos.

Who aren't here, she reminded herself—but she still couldn't help but blush with embarrassment even as she lithely slipped out of the demoness' grasp. She'd never seen one in person before, and her immediate thought was big.

The thought immediately following that immediate thought was ‘tall’.

“Um... ahem. My name's Lily. Lily Aquatos. Nice to... to meet you too,” she managed finally, smiling politely as she attempted to sound at least somewhat composed. She refused to let her etiquette escape her in its entirety, but she reached out to delicately shake Sam's hand even after the delay. “I'm... I-I'm sorry, I'm not familiar with... with all this. Normally I'd be somewhere a little more... uh, organized?” she hesitated, glancing around at the discarded bottles (which were thankfully getting picked up now) and pursing her lips. “I... I didn't... know a lot... coming here, I mean...”

Despite her strange hesitance in her speech, there was this sense of underlying strength to her hiding beneath the surface. Her occasional stutter sounded more like she was purposefully withholding part of herself rather than typical social anxiety, but at the same time she still kept this odd lace of refinement to her tone. That and her posture was meticulously straight and perfected, and she overall gave the impression of someone dignified and disciplined.

To an extent, of course.

Shane - Squad 1

Okay, so new kids now - first one being a 2004 Disaster, the second being...ooh, a pretty girl. Shane knew he probably should try and concentrate on getting ready for class, but this was too good to be true. He chuckled when he saw Ellie wrap the girl up in her arms for a hug, and walked over.

Stuffing his hands in his pocket, Shane looked over the new girl and smirked, "Ahh don't worry about it, babe. You're absolutely fine as is."

He then for good measure winked at her.

Cole - Squad 4

"Well, I try. My powers can get a little...unpredictable." He wiped his forehead and smiled. Great to have a pretty girl like Evelyn complimenting him - and no doubt that she was pretty. The third eye never even entered the picture - as far as Cole was concerned, she was lovely.

And so when she voiced some doubts about her abilities, Cole went and put a hand on her shoulder. He knew how it felt. When she described her powers as utilitarian, Cole found himself wondering if she was naturally given that power. But he figured it was really none of his business.

Cole stated, "Don't worry about it, you can probably do the same with enough time and practice."

The class really seemed to have a lot of colorful characters. He looked forward to finding his home here while he could.

Mason - Squad 1

The rubbing of a cat caught his attention for a moment and brought his attention back to the world of the waking. He looked down and smiled a little bit. He wondered if this was just...a thing that happened with Sam.

So far, it did.

Ellie's little offer for assistance wasn't lost on him, and he offered a little grin in the middle of her massive crushing hug on the new girl (Lily, apparently), and he pulled out a note pad.

Discuss possible Lightning-Based training with Ms. Ellie.

A pause.

Among other possible activities.

Putting it back in his bad, he tried his hardest to wake and held a hand out to the new Squad Mate and, technically, new friend. "Pleasure to meet you, Miss Lily. Name's Mason, Mason Bridges! Gotta say, thankful there's a new face around here so I don't feel so terribly left out."

"Hope we can become great friends." He grinned, his glasses askew, the bags under his eyes prominent

Sam could only shake his head at his team's antics.

"Sorry if that was uncomfortable for you" He said "Just something you have to get used to, they are very affectionate, but mostly harmless" At least to their own and civilians. Don't wanna be on their bad side

Pulling a candy bar, he left it on a table, if anyone wanted it.

"Bozo is... interesting" He said, mostly serious "He knows what he is doing, but is under the effect of something or other, so be ready" Well, at least he warned the new girl.

Wake me up at your own risk.

Lily – Sorcery Class

...‘Babe’? Lily frowned, confused. I've... never been called that before...

The wink did naught but draw a blank expression from her, and she tilted her head a fraction to one side before drawing back slightly in surprise at Mason's introduction. Managing to smile back—a noticeably more subdued and cautious affair than his—she accepted his handshake, making sure her grip was gentle after noting his fatigue.

“Rough night?” she guessed with a look of sympathy, before lacing her fingers together and clasping them neatly into her lap. “I understand. I hope we can be friends too. Don't push yourself, though.”

Wren only sniffed the air and humphed to herself; lazily  skittering over to the girl and nudging her side with her head. Mildly taken aback by her appearance (and especially the membranous eyelids that flickered across for a brief second) the Aquatos carefully petted the harpy with her off hand, inwardly sighing in relief as she eventually lost interest and 'ported back to her seat.

It was a short interaction, but it made it seem like even Wren had learned some self-control as well.

“I guessed from the beer bottles,” she responded in a rather flat voice to Sam's warning, motioning to where they'd sat before returning her hands to their clasped position. “Not... proper, but... I'll deal with it. If he really is good at what he does. I'll go by your word.”

Well, she couldn't deny that this was going to be interesting.

She just hoped it wouldn't be overwhelming.

The air around her lost its moisture all of a sudden as she suddenly took in a deep breath. It was somewhat therapeutic. She loved water. Which as an Aquatos went without saying, but she in particular found it incredibly nourishing. To calm her nerves, she discreetly began to practice—letting tiny droplets of water dance upon her skin in a bouncing fashion; like hot fat in a fryer. It was good control training. Especially if she attempted to do it in patterns. The more particles she could manipulate individually, the better. The more invisible and minuscule said particles were, even more so.

Public displays were encouraged in the Aquatos family. If one could do it without anyone noticing, then that signified excellent skill.

As it stood, Lily's aura of droplets was more akin to a nigh-imperceptible mist.

Iridium Wonders - Sorcery Class (Theoretically)

"Bozo is fueled by alcohol." Mahvash had very deliberately walked in, not appeared. And walked a bit hard. Walking was hardly a stress test, and she'd had weeks but still. Lady did not have cells and had to keep her body touched up 'manually'. No cracks. No visible cracks. Stable humanoid apparition. And perfectly grabbable when she and he had a moment.

She smiled though if only in greeting before clearing trash along with the others. "Still, he's not fueled by overflowing garbage and does in fact have an instant sobriety spell. So, he has no excuse for this. Or whatever is probably growing in the mini-fridge this time."

"An intervention sounds grand." And overdue. Gotta wonder what S. Solutions expected when they slapped a new sign on the same institution.

"For now though," she added with some levity. "I have my leading men on both sides and we're not sashaying down a red carpet." And both needed something that she'd find Sally for if she didn't need the same je ne sais quoi. "Don't think I won't drag you two down one if that's what it takes."

Vivian-Sorcery Class

Viv had slipped in behind the others. Her sweatshirt hood was up, and under it her eyes tired and flat. Today she was wearing grease and dirt-stained black cargo pants and a ragged gray t-shirt with the words EVERY CLOUD HAS A SILVER LINING BUT LIGHTNING KILLS THOUSANDS EACH YEAR WHO GO LOOKING FOR IT. She eased herself into a seat, narrowly scanning the new kids. A drone buzzed in after her. It was a new design, silent and equipped with spider-like legs that let it scamper up the wall and tuck itself away in the corner with only a few lenses poking out like weapons.

Anyone looking closer might have spotted a small glowing amber light at her temples, or that her hands were twitching slightly. This quickly stopped, however, and she stepped forward to greet the newcomers with a thin smile and firm handshake. First the new boy. "Hello, Cole. Welcome to the University. What inspired you to join us?" Behind and above her, the drone's cameras whirred as they focused in on the subject of her interest.

Squad 2+3

Martin couldn't help but smile when Mahvash came in and started to help, mainly because it was difficult to look at her and not smile on any sort of day, but she did usually help put things into perspective for him. Plus she was really going all out on her form today, it had been a bit since he had seen this much effort go into her container. A treat like that was usually reserved for a celebration or something. Maybe it was his birthday.

It was then Martin realized that he had forgotten when his birthday was, which probably was a good indication of his stress level from trying to attend classes and help build the new future of heroism. "Sorry, I haven't really been myself for a bit," he scratched the back of his head and had the good nature to look bashful about it. He could get all dreary on a day when it wasn't probably his birthday. There was still hero work to be done, and cleaning a classroom so the rest of the class could learn in a clean environment was worth doing despite his anger at the mess.

"How about we put any punishment on hold, oh right. The place is all set up, now we just need people to help us move in," he turned to look at his team. Even with the full knowledge that they had powers he knew he would have to trap them into helping him move. "So if anyone wants to help get stuff onto the eighth floor of an apartment complex I am willing to buy pizza."

"We'll take a moment for that," Mahvash spun a bottle before tossing it in a bag. They had everything needed to make a spontaneous disco... if the bottles could orbit Jupiter and she and Perry could coax glowing spirits into them like gogo dancers... "That is what you have an organization for. They don't have to do everything perfectly. They just have to do it. Got to let the baby walk."

"...what?" She tilted her head first when Martin told her the place was set. And she only appeared to be trying to one part crush and smother him a moment later. "Oh, I have no problem putting the other stuff on hold then. ♫ Wake up. Break the rules. Rock the boat. Make Love. Fall over laughing.♫" Mahvash shimmied then did just that. Well, fell over laughing.

A swirling brown portal opened up in front of the teacher's desk before spitting out a disheveled Bozo. He was holding a bottle of rum in one hand and a Captain Morgan in the other, almost in a daze as he groggily sang something about a dead man's chest. He seemed on the verge of passing out. But as soon as he noticed his class, his unfocused gaze cleared up in an instant.

"Oh. Sorry about that. I suppose we have a class, don't we?" With a wave of his fingers, the bottles in his hands disappeared, as did the empty bottles strewn across the room. Desks and chairs were set up right and the smell of alcohol and intoxication was exhumed from the premises. In moments, it was as clean and pristine as could be.

"Once again, I do apologize. Sometimes my particular habits can get somewhat out of hand. Now, today we're going to be doing something somewhat different. But before that, let's see how much you've been paying attention, shall we? What can anyone tell me about other dimensions?"

"There are theoretically infinite dimensions throughout the multiverse, however some of the most well known would be the multilayered formation of Hell, the various heavenly planes, the elemental realms, and other such. Most are created naturally, through with outside interference and enough power one can craft their own plane to reside within." Clay's eyes were clouded over as he spoke, not a hint of his accent in his much to plain voice. "Reaching other dimensions is as simple as having a location or placing a beacon there for a rift to be opened to, for instance the Valax Invasion of 40XX an-" Clay clasped his head and slammed his fist against the belt around his waist, letting out a hiss of pain. "Right, all that," he sat down and put a hand on his head, already feeling a burning headache coming over his own mind. The belt being so closely connected with his mind kept his newly awakened third eye from hitting him with splitting migraines, but it brushed a bit to close at times.

Squad 3

Martin spun with Mahvash, getting a full appreciation of her newly crafted form and kissing her even as they fell to the floor. Which would have been more romantic if they weren't surrounded by booze and trash. However with Bozo's appearance that didn't bother him too much. At the very least their teacher was taking the initiative to apologize for the whole thing. That was more then most around and he wasn't in the business of holding grudges. "We could stop by there after classes if you want to see it." he kissed Mahvash one more time before joining his fellow classmates, a vibrant blush on his cheeks.

At Dante's offer he gave a grin. "Well I hope we see you next Saturday then. Could always use more help!"

Evelyn – Sorcery Class (Squad 4)

That they're terrifying and I only have bad experiences with them, Evelyn absently thought upon hearing Bozo's question, only to look with concern over at Clay during his... detailed answer.

That belt of his... is it interfering? she thought to herself, unconsciously brushing her fingers against her own forehead as her Third Eye peeked out of her skin momentarily. It shouldn't sting like that... not unless there's some sort of interference...

She internally frowned.

...or implants. But he doesn't have them. Right?

She anxiously drummed her fingers against the desk a moment before clasping them together on top, leaning forward slightly to disguise her nervous shaking.

...he's okay. I'm sure he's okay. I just need... to talk to him. After class. Yeah. He's... he'll be fine. I'm sure he will.

Beneath her skull where it lay dormant, her Third Eye rotated and burbled before shifting into a snow white with purple veins. They pulsated momentarily—the supernatural organ bulging and swelling a little from the newfound experiences—before reverting back to its usual state.

He'll be fine.

Lily – Sorcery Class (Squad 1)

Lily subtly dismissed her display as Bozo entered, staring at him with what looked to be suppressed incredulity as he arrived via beer-portal. She supposed it explained the surplus of alcohol in the room, at least...

Oh. He tidied up.

Her mood lifted in an instant at the familiar lack of clutter, and she shifted in her seat with newfound attentiveness. She tried to disguise the fact that she'd been on the verge of a panic attack before. It was fine. Everything was fine.

“D... D-D– ahem. Excuse me. Sorry. Um... other dimensions. As...”

...I didn't get his name...

“...he said, theoretically infinite number of layers and planes, though I'd like to expand by mentioning the theory of an o-omniverse. The concept that in the same way we once thought there was only one universe, there could conceivably be more than one multiverse as well. Th-this could... have interesting effects on our existence and position in the grand scheme of...”

She swallowed.

“...b-but that doesn't matter. Sorry. Uh... yeah...”

Okay. Just need to not do that again. Ever.

Oh my..., Dante looked at the kissing duo, I would have loved it if these lips would have been touched by mine..., he knew it wasn't the time to be heartbroken, but he couldn't help it.

Dante nodded at Martin's answer and was ready to answer to Bozo.

There also are entities that are powerful enough to create dimensions...   , he began, adjusting his mask belts a bit,    ...Things like pocket dimensions and oneiric dimensions...   , the jester trembled a bit at the last words.

That aranean bastard is so damn good at creating them...

...d-depending on their creator, they vary in sizes. From the size of this classroom, to the gargantuan size of the multiverse, or even bigger sizes!

Squad 4 – Sorcery Class

Ah...so Bozo's got some self-awareness after all...

Well, I'm not sure if these could be also considered dimensions, but I think that mindscapes are dimensions too...   , Iuvem thoughtfully answered, with a hand on his chin,    They're places hidden within your psyche. Their morphological makeup might vary from person to person, as they represent their deepest feelings and thoughts, or even themselves, in a way, making them connected. So if someone somehow came inside your mindscape and, well, damaged it, there could be physical repercussions of varying.gravity...   , he explained.

Seeing Clay suffer the impracticalities of having a supernatural eye and a hi-tech belt drew Iuvem's concern to him. However, he believed that Evelyn could be able to deal with these problems. And he'll be happy to help them, if they needed some assistance from him...

Squad 4 - Cole

"Well, I'm already from another universe, so...I guess I feel like while I'm here, I should do some good." It wasn't the whole truth, but really, it'd be best to leave worlds better off than when he showed up.

And the professor was in, through a very impressive magical portal - Cole almost jumped when he heard that portal open, only calming down when he saw nobody else was on edge. Yeah, he thought, this wasn't his version of this place. He just had to get acclimated to knowing he'd be seeing places and people here he was familiar with in...other contexts.

He started to feel more confident when the professor brought up the subject of dimensions. Yeah, dimensions - a subject Cole was very familiar with, considering how many of them he'd visited, traversed, and fallen through.

"Well Professor, I've actually had a lot of experience with dimensions." Putting his hands into his pockets and looking around, he decided he could share, "I've been around the block when it comes to the multiverse, I guess you could say."

He knew it was kind of odd to say, but as someone else put it here, this was a kind of hub of the weird. So maybe he just fit right on in.

Hell, one kid seemed to be actually versed in travel between the dimensions! Would need to run him through an interview sometime.

“It’s also hypothesized,” Mason spoke up, “that some dimensions are capable of bleeding into others and affecting them somehow, someway, but especially the elemental planes. In fact it’s kind of suggested in a few studies that OUR dimension..” he pointed down to the ground. “Is a hodgepodge frankensteining of multiple dimensions! Isn’t that fascinating?!”

"The Celestial Bureaucracy is a plane above this one, just above the Elemental Planes (if it hasn't moved at all since I left). I passed them on my way down to this world," stated Jumping Bean matter-of-factly.

"I haven't been there for some while now...I wonder if I should go check on things...?" she wondered to herself.

Perry held up the Lantern of the Ether and immediately Bellpepper's flame swirled up inside it. The air opened up into a small rift so the class could peer inside the cold and dark expanse of the Other Side. A voice screeched in the distance.

The rift closed.

"The Other Side," Perry intoned seriously. "Where dead things go."

Bozo took a sip of champagne before addressing the class. "All fair answers, though each only covers a small piece of the puzzle. As has been said, there exists beyond this realm a vast array of other dimensions, each of them different and unique in their own way. The Celestial Bureaucracy is one of those planes, as are other realms such as the Abyss. However, the relationship between such realms and ours is a two-way street. As powerful and majestic as these realms are, they are unable to exist without ours. Our thoughts and desires, our very myths and legends called them into being. The Greeks invented Zeus, and so there was a Zeus. Humanity wanted a heaven, and so there was a heaven. Humanity wanted a God. And it was so."

He took another sip. "Of course, with science rapidly becoming the dominant force on the planet, it isn't so easy for new dimensions and planes to come into being. But the ones originally created so long ago still exist. And then there are those created by otherworldly civilizations that may as well be alien to us. Those exist too. As long as there is one person in the cosmos who believes, then so they shall be."

Another sip. "Also, there do exist parallel universes as has been said, but they are not truly the same thing as other dimensions, even if the term is often used as a shorthand. In fact, each universe has its' own set of dimensions, identical to ours except when they are not. That said, this isn't exactly my area of expertise. Though Professor Reinbach is an expert on the subject. You may want to ask him about it if you get the chance."

He placed the glass down on his desk as he took another sip, his eyes glinting with purpose. "Now, the purpose of today's class is to experience one of these dimensions firsthand. To start, we'll be visiting the Isle of Gratook. It's a lovely little place. I was last there when I was liberating the populace from the menace of the dark lord Gorgamesh. Now there was a nasty fellow. He spent more time attempting to devour his citizens then institute any meaningful policy. That's a politician for you. In any case, this should be a grand opportunity for all of you. Of course, there is a very small chance that something could go wrong, but I'm sure that it's nothing to truly worry about."

Chibuzo listened to what people had to say about dimensions.

Heaven, Hell, The Other Side etc...all of these dimensions and their beings came into being because of the humanity's thoughts? It is really so strong that it could be capable of creating entire dimensions?, he wondered.

Huhuhuhu...I wonder...could a powerful warlock like me be able to use their knowledge of magic to tamper and possibly control the reality-creating willpower of humanity? This sounds ambitious and all, but I need to learn more of this. Maybe not right now, but when I'll get the chance to do that...

Chibuzo stood up. "What are we waiting for, then...", he walked toward Bozo, his movement being calm and slow. "It's time to explore Gratok!", he put a skeletal fist on his chest, exhuding passion and confidence.

Iridium Wonders - Oh, yeah the class

Mahvash shimmied with the moment, taking the appreciation. "Let's." She said it quickly, smirking at Martin's blush even while frantically straightening herself up after Bozo's arrival.

"Other 'universes' are well, other sets of points in spacetime. That's the basic. Some beings carve out bubbles with magecraft, some placesactually breach the boundary of space that this Earth is in and have different physical laws, and others hold almost exact copies of familiar things. And they're all made possible by the sheer size of spacetime and the boundless possibilities within." And in all of them, there is only one Nasu. The same one who told me I die in every one of those but one. For a New Years' Present.

She started off jotting notes at Bozo's answer. So, he went with the tulpa theory. Popular among human travelers. For some reason. Though he goes to its extreme, saying creations need only one sentient mind, presumably 'average' or even less. I could write a paper on the implications. For one, no person could judge anyone, because any sapient being can create their own god and maybe draw power from it. Also, lends probably unwanted respectability to persecutors, if they want to force a populace to collectively create a single otherworld for all of their souls after death and create a tulpa strong enough to secure them against all the things out there.

When he mentioned visiting the Isle of Gratook, she held on writing and immediately begin uploading Rienbach's book on dimensions. When something went awry, if they ended up in the Abyss again, she could paint with Zenestria.

"Excellency," she started after Sally had spoken. "After you've addressed that, if I may add, what's your plan when that 'very small chance' happening comes to pass?"

Bozo began shaking a bottle of wine as he considered his answer. "I'm glad you asked. If something goes awry, the most likely outcome is that you'll all be scattered to kingdom come across the different dimensions. But even if that should occur, there's no need to worry. In such an event, I would immediately send out an interdimensional beacon to your locations. Touch the beacon and it will take you back to the classroom in an instant. As for any precautions, the best thing to do is to stick to your squad. Even if the class is broken apart, there's a fair chance you won't be separated from your squadmates. If only because your squads are that much smaller. Though hopefully it won't come to that. Now, are there any other questions before we proceed?"

Vivian-Sorcery Class

Viv was, as usual, pretty tired. Doing maintenance on the Suit was fun but a lot of work, and between that and her workout regimen she knew her grades were slipping. Still, it was worth it. There had been some weird glitches in the core, but with Armada's help she'd mostly gotten them ironed out, and the new interface seemed to be working great. It allowed her a level of control over the drones which would surely come in handy. And that was just the beginning...

The latest attack had solidified three ideas in Vivian's head: they weren't ready for the next encounter, she certainly needed to improve things, and magic was just too dangerous. From what she'd seen, most of the bad guys had been using it, and even on her own side she still didn't trust some of the mystical types. Give me Clay's guns or even Evelyn's weird eye. At least I can kind of understand them. And Bozo certainly hadn't made a great impression. Still, all of this might come in handy some day.

In the corner, the drone continued scanning, recording everything that happened.

Squad 4 - Cole

Wait, Cole thought with a gasp, we're gonna be jumping dimensions now? He immediately found himself thinking about all the possible ways for this to go up shit creek without a paddle. He bit his lip.

This could either go well or, like other field trips so he heard, badly.

"I just hope everyone's ready in case things go an unexpected direction."

Cole decided to make ready just in case things did in fact go badly - as they so often seemed won't to do.

Shane - Squad 1

Wait wait wait, we're doing ANOTHER field trip? After how fucking poorly the last few went?

Shane felt like slapping his forehead. This was just getting aggravating, how incompetent the heroes around here were getting.

Squad 3 - Van

Van was a bit late to class again, due in part to the Sword of Tear acting up. But going by the fact that he walked in on discussion of dimensions, this was looking like it was gonna lead somewhere...exciting. Well, exciting or scary depending on your preference.

He took a seat with Squad 3, noting the presence of the new kids on the squads.
