Did you know that Earth is a lot more special than even you know it to be? Yeah, it's easy to get preachy and talk about how unique the world is because of how spunky we are or because we're a bunch of badasses or something-no, shut up, that's all wrong. It's all fucking wrong.

See, haven't you ever wondered why this planet, of all planets? Why this world has life on it? All these stories, tales, legends, mythos? Why this planet of all planets attracts the likes of aliens, ghosts, monsters, demons, and every fucking thing in between?

Yeah, that's what I was wondering too, until I finally found out what.

See, it's a lot simpler than what I thought it would be. So, I want you to imagine this. I want you to imagine this gigantic power source, capable of lighting up the entire planet and not even use a fraction of its power. The ability to give and take power and make us all...fucking better than we ever were, right?

Now, imagine this amazing, world ending, world creating power source...and then fucking smash it into a million little pieces, and scatter it all over the world. And now, imagine those little shards getting discovered by the stupid things that wandered around at that time.

Ever hear of the Loch ness Monster? That's just a dinosaur that got a chunk of this thing stuck in it! Bigfoot? Caveman who got a bit stuck in his spine. Every little thing in this world, as a mythos, is almost born from this...Anomaly.

And it ain't just living things either! A little chunk got stuck in a goblet and what we got? The holy grail. A little piece got lodged in a fountain and suddenly, it's making people live forever!

The Crystal Skulls, the Arc of the Covenant, Excalibur, Philisopher's stone? That's all stuff that came from the power of this anomaly! Including Vampires, Zombies, and everything in between! The people who get it? Get JACKED Up. But they get jacked up and STRONG and in some cases, really scary.

But you know what? Some people are starting to notice this world, and the weird vibes it's giving out. It's reaching well beyond space and time. It's reaching other UNIVERSES. Other DIMENSIONS. And it's bringing people here.

You think we got problems with the things that go bump in the night? Nah, you ain't seen trouble until you see some wild and crazy Sci-Fi dude fighting with a spellcaster over a Shard...and don't even get me started when a bad guy shows up! If someone wants those shards...and wants to hurt us with it?

Well kids...back in the Bronx...that's a nice way of sayin' we're fucked.

  • Name: David Livingston
  • Age: 14
  • Appearance: 5'5", very lithe build. Cold eyes and bleached hair. Seems to take pride in his appearance. Almost never seen without his trademark coin—which he usually performs tricks with in an idle fashion. When using his quantum powers, greenish arcs of lightning tend to crackle between him and the affected object, as well as manifesting a mild distortion to the air around it.
  • Personality: The cold, calculating type. Despite his age, David has incredible smarts when it comes to physics and mathematics, which are crucial for what he uses his powers for. Driven by logic and his own goals for the scientific community, David can appear cold and aloof at first glance but further investigation will reveal him to be incredibly vulnerable and prone to irrational outbursts when things don't seem to go his way. He prides his intelligence but finds it irritating when others flaunt theirs, and his outwardly expressionless demeanour disguises a deep sensitivity to the ones he cares about—despite his clear disregard for the opinions of strangers and his obvious discomfort when it comes to emotionally charged situations. David suffers from a type of inferiority complex brought about by a deep-set fear of those more powerful than him, and this is made most apparent by his unwavering desire to increase his abilities despite his superficial excuse of ‘for the betterment of the public’. Initially seeming obnoxious and robotic, David does eventually open up to reveal a more caring and benevolent side, but with his problems of overcompensation it may take him a long while to display this part of himself in full.
  • World: E-Verse, or more specifically the Earth of said universe. This version of Earth has a multitude of abnormal occurrences lurking just beneath the veils of normality: with aliens, espers, demons, gods, and superhumans working in partial secrecy amidst the world's usual happenings.
  • Skills:
    • Tactile Physics Manipulation (Quantum Energy Siphoning + Infusion): In layman's terms, David can alter the behavioural properties of objects by physical contact with them for indeterminate amounts of time. He does this by siphoning certain ‘aspects’ of an individual body's physics, i.e. draining the effectiveness of gravity on something such as his coin to cause it to levitate in one place (or remove any and all directional commands so as to make it permanently freeze). In this fashion, David can ‘program’ objects to do different things in a manner best described as ‘clunky tactile-telekinesis’, and he can command an object to move perpetually in one direction or spin for a set (or infinite) amount of time. Unfortunately, the sheer amount of concentration it takes to cause anything complicated to happen means David is usually restricted to a limited amount of simple commands at a time—and the larger the object, the harder it is and longer it takes for him to successfully begin to manipulate it. As such, David most regularly sticks to small objects such as his coin—readily using it as a ranged weapon which he can alter to zip about at lethal speeds and return to his grasp in an instant. David may also utilize ‘bursts’ of this quantum force for enhanced mêlée attacks—wherein he palms or kicks his opponents in such a way that they are sent flying at a greater distance than he'd be able to achieve normally—but due to the comparatively complicated nature of organic bodies, he cannot change their natures for more than brief seconds at a time, and even then it is limited to their respective momentums and kinetic forces. Despite his efforts, David also cannot alter himself.
    • Scientific Mind: David is a bookworm by nature, and has a great knowledge and borderline obsession for theoretical physics and their potential application in the real world. While this is useful in conjunction with his powers, David also applies this knowledge for less abstract usages—having experience with technology and tinkering as well as an innate skill when it comes to paperwork and studying. Perhaps this causes him to suffer in other areas, but David rarely cares for that anyhow—happy to spend his days as a hermit if he means he understands the intricacies of the universe just that little bit better.
  • Equipment: Merely the clothes on his back, his smartphone, and his beloved coin. Since the latter is already an exceptional medium for his energy powers, he rarely carries anything else.
  • Goals/Ambitions: David wishes to study these so-called Shards for their immense energy output, and whether or not they'd be able to enhance (or even replace) his current methods for a world of clean and accessible energy. With his aims this high and convinced of his own nobility, David is willing to pull some strings to make it happen—even if it results in a few ‘necessary’ betrayals when it comes to it.
  • Alignment: Ambivalent, often leans towards Villainous.

  • Name: Beatrice
  • Age: 23
  • Appearance: Beatrice likes to wear fairly movable clothing that still looks stylish, typically accessorizing with a backpack or other fashion. She is about 5'8. The only sign of her demonic heritage normally is her pointy ears and white hair.
  • Personality: The Legendary Dork Knight. Fixated on doing the right thing and upholding the order of society. Very grandiose and talkative about this dumb belief system and why it is the objectively best thing to do.
  • World: Beatrice is from a moderately Extra world with a heightened demonic presence and more powerful fashion industry. Everyone looks about as nuts as her and the threat of demonic invasion and possession has necessitated demonslayers that quickly rose to celebrities.
  • Skills: Beatrice is, by training, a martial artist. She knows how to fight all sorts of opponents when armed with Zeal and Ardor and has a high tolerance for painful bullshit of all kinds.
    • Also, Beatrice is half demon. This normally just makes her super strong and grants a healing factor to her, but when in danger she can activate the Demon Drive to give herself a massive surge in strength and durability. The Drive lasts for about 30 seconds and causes her to grow bright red chitin, a pair of wings, and gigantic horns.
  • Equipment:
    • Traveling gear—a backpack, snacks from home, and a modern smartphone with cute little charms on it.
    • Zeal and Ardor, a long staff and a tower shield respectively with little brackets pointing backwards. Vertically folding the shield in half reveals hinges and a sharp edge. The brackets attach to the baton when they fold all the way back as well, turning the weapon into a huge single-edged axe.
  • Goals/Ambitions: Pursue great danger until she either dies or grow sever stronger so as to show off her talents to all the plebs that have never even heard of her.
  • Alignment: Heroic

  • Name: Basil Adami
  • Age: 23
  • Appearance: Blonde-haired and brown eyed, prone to wearing retro mafia-esque suits, replete with suspenders and fedora.
  • Personality: Charming, soft-spoken, and generally polite, unless he's currently trying to kill you. Even then, he generally makes it painless. Basil is calm-minded and ruthlessly pragmatic, never endangering himself more than he absolutely needs to. One might almost call him a coward, but he's willing to face danger, as long as he thinks it worthwhile. Despite being a seasoned killer, he also has a sense of honor, and will generally refrain from harming innocents.
  • World: A futuristic world in the throes of rising crime rates. Cybernetics allow the wealthy to live forever, while the impoverished suffer. Despite the omnipresence of bodycams, the ease of video editing means police are more corrupt than ever. While quality of life has technically improved the world over compared to modern day, so has the divide between classes. Private militaries are commonplace, and the influence of corporations grows unchecked.
  • Skills:
    • Full Convert: Basil is a cyborg, of the 'brain uploaded into a robot body' variety. He doesn't bleed or feel pain, never tires, and is slightly stronger/tougher and significantly faster than a normal human. He's built for speed over strength, able to casually dodge bullets or outrun a sportscar. Of course, this speed is due to his incredibly lightweight build, meaning he can easily be thrown about by impacts. Thus, Basil generally prefers to avoid getting hit altogether.
    • Allegro: Basil can overclock himself, roughly doubling his already superhuman speed. He can do this for up to ten seconds at a stretch, but this ability overheats his body, so the longer he uses it the longer the cooldown period is afterward, and a in-built safety prevents him from using it again until his body cools completely.
  • Equipment:
    • Comms: Being a cyborg, Basil essentially has a smartphone built into his head, complete with camera and internet browser, and can pick up and communicate through any kind of radio signal (wi-fi, AM/FM radio, cell tower, etc).
    • Danse Macabre: Basil's weapon of choice is a long, razor-sharp monofilament wire. Sharp enough that a normal human's finger would be sliced off just by trying to grab it. Basil, however, is unable to be cut by his own wire, and wields it like an extension of his body. He's able to bend and move it by thought alone as long as its within a meter of his body. Usually coils it into a small ring around one finger when not in use.
  • Goals/Ambitions: Basil believes the Shards could be used to benefit the impoverished masses of his homeworld. Whether by providing limitless free electricity to poorer regions, or simply as a way to take over the world and forcefully make it a better place, he isn't sure, but he's damn sure going to try.
  • Alignment: Heroic, in a sort of anti-hero edgelord way.

What is so amusing about this? Why do you take lives? How can you forget?

  • Name: Boney (TRUE NAME UNKNOWN)
  • Age: ??? (They died young, but no one knows how long they've been an undead bone-thing.)
  • Appearance:
    • Base Form: Boney appears as a short, skinny boy with long, disheveled black hair and completely black eyes wearing white burial robes with a white bandanna over his hair, going barefoot. There is a spine and ribcage seemingly embedded into him over what passes for his clothes. Additionally, two small arched protrusions of bone mark his pelvis.
    • True Form: Unknown
  • Personality:
    • Base Form: Boney is childish, and to put it frankly, has no spine. They'd rather hide than fight, unless they're trying to get to one of their bones. Then he'll fight to the death (but he's already dead). He's slavishly obedient to whomever has promised him that they'll help get his bones back. Boney constantly complains of hunger, but often gives up what little offerings he gets to other undead beings who look like they need it more.
    • True Form: Unknown
  • World: Boney is from a Wuxia world—Xian, yaoguai, and other creatures from Chinese mythology roam free here, only kept in check by each other and whatever side of Yin or Yang they happen to serve. Demon hunters and mercenaries sell their services in the Jianghu province, while the peasants farm whatever land is available to support the cities. The King continues to party away in the Forbidden Palace, uncaring of the plight of his people.
  • Skills:
    • Undead Physiology: Boney's "body" is merely a solid ectoplasmic projection made by his restless bones. As long as his bones remain intact, he retains his unliving mind and can regenerate his "body" at midnight if it has been damaged in some way. The only way to lay him to rest properly is to find and cremate all his bones with all the appropriate funeral rituals (or else he turns into a poltergeist at best or a demon at worst). Failing that, one can shatter all his bones, though that will leave his spirit stuck on the mortal coil.
    • Excavation: Boney is able to dig extraordinarily fast with his bone shovel. However, the tunnel will only be able to accommodate people of his current size. Digging bigger tunnels tends to slow him down.
    • Bone Manipulation/Animation: Boney is able to make bones dig themselves out of the ground and assemble themselves into tools and other useful things. He can also animate relatively complete skeletons into (admittedly boneheaded) minions.
    • Bone-Sense: He can sense the locations, sizes, and types of bones in the ground. The depth varies with his current level of power. This is useful for finding materials for skeleton minions.
    • Dowsing: Boney uses a pair of dowsing rods in an attempt to locate his bones. This can also be reapplied to find most other things.
  • Equipment:
    • Bone Shovel: This is a sturdy stick with the scapula of some large animal tied to the end. Boney uses this to dig tunnels.
    • Dowsing Rods: These are two carved rib bones in an L-shape. By holding them as dowsing rods, Boney is able to determine the location of things he wants to find.
  • Goals/Ambitions: He must find his bones. He must become whole again. He must!
  • Alignment:
    • Base Form: Cute Bone Child Looking For Himself
    • True Form: Unknown

Name: James Jones Age: 25

Appearance: Standing at 5'11 with black hair and brown eyes, his normal clothing usually consists of whatever is appropriate at the time, although he prefers subdued less noticeable colors rather than the bright and loud ones.

Personality: If I were to sum up this man's personality in a few words, it'll be that He's very protective and loyal to those he considers his allies, quick to anger but not one to hold a grudge, tends to not trust anyone who he considers to be inhuman, and while he'd rather talk and not fight he will not hesitate to shoot someone if needed.

World: Hunter: The Vigil

Skills: -Weapon Proficiency:(Pistols and Sniper rifles): James is proficient when using pistols and sniper rifles, gained through training. -Monster Knowledge: As a hunter he makes it his job to know how to kill monsters. -Danger Sense: during his time hunting monsters he's grown to learn when something wants him dead, and pick up on the general direction on where that thing is. -Quick reflexes: It's..just him having quick reflexes, nothing much else to say.

Equipment: He has some traveling equipment located in his backpack, along with a pistol, his phone and he is wearing some light armor under his shirt, it's good enough to stop a knife attack.

Goals/Ambitions: He believes that these "Sparks" as people are calling them should either be contained in a way that wouldn't bring others here before someone/something truly evil appears, or if all else fails should be destroyed.

Alignment: Heroic, or as heroic a hunter can be
