OK, here's where this thread is standing, with the unlocking:
Given the widespread backlash and complaining about certain aspects of the work (i.e. Dexit), we wanted to communicate very clearly what we are not willing to put up with: prolonged, circular complaining (or wonking).
Of course, with a controversial subject that has a large impact on the gameplay, Dexit is in one of those areas where there it may be on-topic to discuss it, but the nature of that discussion can wildly vary. As has been said elsewhere, we ix-nayed discussion of Dexit entirely because it never seemed to happen without devolving into that kind of complaining.
However, we're willing to unlock the thread after this 3-day cooldown period because the Pokemon General thread has been stable enough. And -
Can I discuss Dexit?
Yes. But if there is prolonged wonking on it, the thread just becomes an echo chamber of complaints and we do not like that. No one likes that. The same rules as ever apply. Be a constructive, healthy space. Have conversations about what you like, and what you don't like, but the thread should not get locked into a series of bitter complaints.
If you have questions or concerns about mod implementation or action, we have a thread for that here.
Alright? Thank you all for waiting this out. I hope we're all good now.

The inspiration is defenitely pollution, yes, but they turned that inspiration ina a creature that purrifies the enviroment instead of polluting it. Its not that complicated.
You could also point out that the inspiration also what caused a shift in the balance of nature itself, one such example being the dark and light pepper moths, but we know too little to jump to those lengrhs.

- Watches new direct and sees Yell* ...I can't believe there is a worse looking team than Flare.
I thought Flare was kinda cool. Seriously, the most ridiculous one is Skull or whatever it was.
If there's a book you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it. Toni MorrisonI like that team Skull was super pathetic and treated as a joke. It was funny, but if these new guys are also treated as super pathetic I'm worried that every evil team going forward is going to be just a joke.
I'm just weirded out by these people being fanboys over this random girl who just so happens to be good at Pokemon battles.
Goddammit, Schezo...The evil teams getting increasingly harder to take seriously is meant to catch people off their guard so they spring the next team Galaxy on them
New theme music also a boxI mean it's really not that far off. In prior games such as Emerald or USUM your player character was able to develop a fanbase through side activities. Trainers having fanbases is a pretty common occurrence as it's considered a class in it's own right. Important characters have been shown through dialogue and flavor text to have some sort of niche following. This is especially if they show to have a side-job outside of their work. Marnie could possibly be doing other stuff on the side or resonate with a certain group of people enough to have one. And we should take into consideration how big gym spectator-ship is being highlighted in this game.
I can't get over the fact that the female grunts have body pillows of her.
It's been 3000 years…All joke teams end with double ll's.
Pretty sure those are just posters/wall scrolls.
I personally want to believe that Marnie probably was someone known before she took part in League challenge for people to gravitate to her like with Team Yell.
Or if we are to believe that everything' rigged, then they could be a paid hype squad to make her seem more important than she is.
Continue the bloodline, Fujimaru! The website page for Team Yell says they're towels.
Found this translation of dialogue from the Japanese trailer. Marnie doesn't approve of Team Yell if these translations are accurate.
Figured they were those types of fans.

‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’just like pokemon's own unpleaseable fanbase!
New theme music also a boxJust like a lot of fandom's unpleasable fanbases....
...wonder if they are commenting on anyone in particular?
I mean, I doubt Yell was created in between the National Dex controversy and now, but considering there's probably been other shit the fandom has gone crazy over (and Yell seems to be made up of adults)....
One Strip! One Strip!Yell seems more like the defense force side of fanbases, the ones that harass (or other the unpleasant things) anyone that disagrees or "tarnish" the what they're in support of. People here did make the comparison to hooligans in sporting events.

‘My ignorance is just as good as your knowledge.’Not having played Gen IV, was Galactic all that malicious like Rocket and Flare, or were they more of the hopelessly misguided brand of Teams like the rest of the series?
Yeah. Between how heavy Galar seems to emphasize the sort of spectacle you expect from major sporting events, the parallel is pretty obvious. I will say that even if they're played up as losers, they'd still be different from Team Skull since the latter was actually on a much more powerful and malicious organizations payroll. Assuming they somehow don't have anything to do with something more sinister going on, that'd be a pretty significant difference.
...It'd be cool if the protagonist actually got a large amount of fans though, considering they inevitably curbstomp everyone into the dirt.

They were all so dumb they didn't know what their boss's goal was.
They also tried to blow up a town and are implied to have killed a roughneck's pokemon so they are somewhat malicious.
Just as a note: I've seen two possible Galarian forms.
- Hoothoot: In the jobs portion of the Japanese trailer, there is a Hoothoot with a book on its head.
- Klink: I saw it on another forum, but can't find it anywhere, but there seems to be an icon somewhere of a Klink with spikier teeth within a wheel.
On an entirely separate note, if Bede is sponsored by Rose, and the player and Hop are sponsored by Leon, then who is Marnie sponsored by?
To be fair to the grunts, Cyrus never really told anyone what his end goal was.

"We're all paper, we're all scissors, we're all fightin' with our mirrors, scared we'll never find somebody to love."fanatics dont need logic, just a passion. There are plenty of real life examples to chose from.
As I recall, they were like Team Plasma in that some members were just there to cause shit and steal stuff, while other members were true believers to the cause, except dumber since they didn't actually know what it was they were doing or how it would help make the world better, they just blindly believed Cyrus like he was a cult leader.
The admins where basically the same, with Saturn following Cyrus because he found him charismatic and later made a reformed Team Galactic after he found out what Cyrus was planning, Charon was amoral and just in it for profit, and Mars and Jupiter were just Cyrus fangirls who didn't care what he was planning or what they were doing.
Yell looks like a combination of toxic sports fans and idol worshippers. Not always the most pleasant of people.
Your preferences are not everyone else's preferences.
Or with The Fair Folk also being fairies.
