[up] In "The Day That Wasn't," it did look like Robomom had outgrown her programming and wanted to tell Diego something (probably one of the many secrets Hargreeves was keeping — maybe that he killed himself), but that day was erased by Five via time travel.

Yeah, Luthor definitely fared better in "The Day That Wasn't," where Allison was able to be there for him when he learned that his mission to the moon was pointless. In "The Day That Was," he ended up spiraling without her there. Also, in "The Day That Wasn't," Vanya definitely learns that Harold is a creepy stalker way before she learns it in the revised timeline.

I definitely think there's an irony that the everything might have gotten solved sooner and better if Five hadn't done anything, but as soon as he tries, he fucks everything up.

Trouble is the commission were a necessary part of equation so they probably would have come up with something else to push towards the apocalypse.

[up][up] That's why I first thought that he was tricked into intervening and I was really disappointed when it turned out that this wasn't the case.

I think that timeline revising was always part of the timeline — mainly because that was before Harold gets his fake eye and we know that Luthor was clutching the fake eye when he died, so in the "original" timeline, without Five's original intervention, Harold still gets Vanya to learn about her powers via getting beat up and then, perhaps, convinces her to kill her family? I don't know.

I am not sure because even in this altered time-line he never got the glas eye...in fact he didn't get it in either reality.

It just doesn't make any sense.

It all ends completely different in the original timeline, so it probably wasn't part of the natural course of things for Fives to screw it up, it's just that he - like his siblings - is too flawed to be helpful in the situation he was thrown into.

But in the altered timeline, he still gets beaten up and needs the eye, even if he never gets it. So in the original timeline, that must have still happened, but this time, he gets the eye. And is there when Vanya confronts/kills her family, I guess.

But would have Vanya trusted him after finding the file? Hard to imagineā€¦.

Maybe he lost his eye to Vanya in the original timeline?

The hand holding the eye looked like a man's, and the eye still had bits and blood still on it.

[up][up][up]I kind of just assumed that Vanya never found the file and that there are three versions of the apocalypse at play.

  • 1) Five disappears and has NO influence on the events leading up to the apocalypse. This event (somehow) ends with Luther holding Harold's fake eye.
  • 2) The Day That Wasn't which results in Vanya finding Harold's file and could possibly have averted the apocalypse entirely.
  • 3) The Day That Was and everything following where the apocalypse happens as shown on screen.

With 2 and 3 only occuring at all because of Five coming back. While he might not have directly had influence on some things, influence in one area lead to changes elsewhere as seen with Allison-Luther between Episodes 6 and 7.

I think something interesting to note is that when Five made the deal to join the Commission, he did it on the condition that his family would live. And in the final timeline, everyone survives until the end instead of dying when the mansion collapses. So wonder if the Commission actually kept their word on that deal or if it was just a coincidence?

[up] That is an interesting thought. In the day this wasn't it looked as if everyone would be away from the mansion.

Vanya still trusted him after finding the file in the altered timeline. At the very least, still liked him long enough to stick by him after nearly murdering her sister.

Got into this fairly recently as of last week, and I have to admit I'm pretty excited for the next season coming out soon.

I think the most interesting thing to me is the family dynamic and how they deal with reconciling their childhoods with everything that's happened.

I do wish the soundtrack wasn't so on the nose with song choices and lyrics.

Oh god I'm so ready grin

Klaus forming a cult is definitely the most interesting reveal, I wonder how much of his powers he'll be tapping into for that group.

also evil goldfish, which wow they actually went there

I'm very unsure of how them meeting a Reginald presumably from the past is going to work out, but a Pogo origin story seems like it's in the cards, which I'm here for.

Carmichael (the goldfissh) was my favorite character from the comic, so it's nice to see him out and about.
