Downvoted it initially due to a complete lack of "threat" to cause the backfire. No other ideas ATM.
It needs another panel to show the initial threatening. Struggling to find the image source.
There is this example but I am not sure if this trope applies or Blackmail Backfire.
- In Secret Six #20, Catman's infant son gets held hostage, and the hostage-takers threaten to drop him off a building. For every one of his team he kills in the next five minutes, they will allow his son to live for one year. After long deliberation, Catman tells them to go ahead and drop his son, and that he is going to hunt them all down. He then goes on a pre-emptive Roaring Rampage of Revenge.
Perhaps with another panel to strengthen the backfiring:

I think it's a stronger fit for Threat Backfire since there's no clear statement of blackmail there. The panel of him hanging up would be good to add to make the backfire clear.
Clock is set.
"That's right mortal. By channeling my divine rage into power, I have forged a new instrument in which to destroy you."
Re-clocked this one. After looking at the actual example, I'm now inclined to put the Secret Six pic on Blackmail Backfire as the entire context of the scene makes it a better fit for that page even though the suggestion seems to be illustrating Threat Backfire more.
Put the Secret Six pic on Blackmail Backfire.
Currently mostly inactive. An incremental game I tested: https://galaxy.click/play/176 (Gods of Incremental)Clock's up; locking for inactivity/lack of consensus.
