   Well, perhaps we can discuss this amongst ourselves as we look around the marketplace, it's better than just standing here. I'd suggest finding a place to eat, but...   

He points at the platform where Dappington will make his speech.

   ...that mayoral candidate might say something about the bank in his speech that would interest us and we could miss it if we found a place to eat, so yeah. Have to wonder if the old restaurant my crew used to stop at here is still around, as the layout of the city is different than what I remember.   

"Why would the mayor have something to say about the bank..?"

Ezekiel shakes his head at Klamptrap, picking up on Parada's thread. "Does it matter what some old froufrou mayor would have to say about the bank? I'm with Sennen, I say we get in there and get that Shard, whatever it takes! We're not made of time here, are we?"

Yeah, why not just go to the bank now, discuss our plans along the way, and get a good look at the place when we get there? (Ira suggests.) Even if this Dappington guy does talk about the bank, how can we be sure that he's going to mention something that's actually going to help us? For all we know, he could just say that he's going to put cleaner washrooms in the bank if he's elected or something and that'd be it.

Plus...yeah, we don't really have much time to waste, especially if any of our rivals are already heading this way. (He adds.)

"… hhhh…"

"I'm onboard with Ira's idea", said Nephenee. "There's a bunch of actual reasons that we shouldn't waste time, but overall? I'm getting less and less fond of this place the longer we interact with the people here."

Is this a good time to join in? I've got a character in mind who could be interested in a bit of bank-robbing.

"Right, nice to see everyone's on the same page. Still, better concoct a plan of some kind, right?"

Glad to hear. Look forward to the scene.

"I'd say first step is not plottin' your dirty deeds out in public."

From behind a nearby stall emerges a yellow-furred feline-woman dressed in a mismatched naval uniform and a black cloak decorated with gold scales. She strides over to the crew and tips her hat to them.

"The name's Bright Eyes," she says with a smile. "Need a hand? I've got some practice with break-ins an' break-outs, an' could do with some extra coin right now. An' you seem to need someone who can help scope out the place."

Gabrielle whips around to look at the source of the offer, having legitimately no idea whether she should be amazed or intimidated. She just looks so... official, what with her attire and general demeanor. She exudes confidence and, strangely, tranquility, something that was sorely needed to get this egg shard...

Holy shit, a golden ticket?

"Alrighty then. How well do ya know around that fancy pile of goldfish shit over there?" Gabrielle asks, pointing in the general direction of the bank.

"That's what the scoutin' out's for," said Bright Eyes. "What I do know already is the rumours. An army of guards, no one's successfully robbed 'em, magic won't do thieves any good..." She rolled her eyes. "You know, all the typical boasts. They must be countin' on their security's reputation as much as the security itself, to scare you off before you even try. That means they likely won't know what to do when their defences start failin'. Get a good enough start, an' they'll panic an' get sloppy enough for you to finish the job."

Sennen starts at the sudden chiding, only to relax when the source of the voice turns out to be friendly. Well, they seem that way so far, at least.

"Yeah, some arsewipe from the bank was just goin' on 'bout how we'd never be able to get around its security. Like I'd trust what he had to say about it!"

She snorts derisively.

"Anyway, if it's privacy we're after where do we go?"

"Hello, Bright Eyes!"

(Well, this was just what the doctor ordered. Someone who can actually give them a hand in this.) Well, hey there!

(Ira looks around and responds to Sennen.) Well, I'd think somewhere with less people...which would probably mean away from here.

"Well," Ezekiel chimes in, somewhat impressed. "I'm rather surprised you're just showing up to offer your services, but I'm nonetheless thankful."

Bright Eyes shrugs. "Well, like I said, I could use the money. Should be a big enough haul to be worth the trouble." Her expression remains calm, although her tail perks up a bit.

"Anyway, for privacy, I know a pub not too far from here. Bit seedy, but it's nice an' quiet, and they give 'please don't burn the place down' discounts, so it's good enough for me. What do you say?"

Kauri weakly nods. "Quiet good… Loud… hurts…"

"Splendid idea, Ms. Bright Eyes," Melvin says, trying to sound formal. "I'd love to go there."

"Pubs are always a nice place to discuss busines sin my eyes", Nephenee chuckled, "But I just hope they don't drop entire barrels of their stuff on us there."

(Ira cringes slightly at the thought of going to a pub, especially here, but at this point he's ready to be away from the hustle and bustle of the marketplace.) Sounds like a plan to me.

(He notices Kauri's continued discomfort, which worries him.) Maybe they might have something there that could help clear Kauri's head, too. Hopefully, anyway...

"Aye, pub sounds good!"

Within her head, Sennen is now idly trying to calculate how drunk she could get before she'd no longer be useful to the heist-planning process. You have to find a fine balance with these things, after all.

"Right this way, then. Stay close."

Bright Eyes leads the group down a side street to a small, out-of-the-way, disreputable-looking pub. As promised, it's mostly deserted aside from a small scattering of shifty characters. She flashes her claws to encourage said ruffians to mind their own business, then sits down at a conveniently-sized empty table.

"There. This is more like it." She beckons to the crew. "Food and drinks are on me. Now let's talk business.

"So, first things first, we need to know what we've got an' what we're up against. I can help quite a bit with the latter - I'm quick, light an' sharp-eyed, so I'll see what the bank has in store, but they sure won't see me. Besides that, I'm an expert duelist..." She lifts her cloak to show more clearly where her sword, buckler and pistol are holstered. "...an' can handle locks an' traps pretty well too." She then looks across the table expectantly. "An' what do the rest of you have for this job?"

"But we're not old enough to drink alcohol."

Bright Eyes laughs. "You know, lad, you're workin' with pirates and other criminals. It's not like we're lettin' rules get in our way here." She pauses for a moment to regain her composure, then says, "If you'd rather, we can fix you up with some lime juice or the like, but let it be a matter of taste rather than law."
