ITT: World of Supers

"Damn it."

Baaaahhh...she's still KO'ed.

The creature returns, dragging an emergency kit box along in its blobby body. It sets the box down next to Detective GC.

"These are medical tools, correct?"

Cat girl examines the tools. "I'm no expert, but they look medical to me."

Det. GC: Yep, though I doubt they'll be of good use now as those felons seem to have disappeared to who knows where. I suggest we move away from here and regroup to plan our next course of action, which is seeking to get our team officially recognized.

As the Black Dragon's windows are tinted, the detective doesn't notice the stolen goods inside.

The villainous group reappears inside their base, whereupon Adrien immediately slumps to the floor. "Oof... that took way more than I was expecting it to..."

Suddenly, the lights in the lair go out.

"Sounds like you could use someone with expertise."

The lights come back on, and standing there is a man in a mask and cloak, both of which are iridescent.

"You can call me... Prism. King of light."

N.E.X.U.S. Villain Base

After taking a moment to get his bearings, the knight looks at Adrien in anger.

Black Knight:   You left those stolen goods behind, as well as that expensive car of mine? Great, now thanks to you the our efforts would be for naught as they'd get reclaimed by that detective guy, and that was my only car I owned too!   

The knight then sees the new arrival.

   Uh, hello there Mr. Prism. What brings you here?

"Buddy, we had already lost that battle," Adrien snarked. "I just wanted to get us out of there alive and unarrested."

They turn to the new arrival. "Prism, huh? If this is the kinda trick you can pull on a whim to show off, I'll take it as a good sign..."

"It all began in college. I was a med student, specializing in optometry. I was top of my class, until one day..."

"Aw, who am I kidding. You don't want to hear the whole backstory, do you? I saw your ad in the paper for this little villain league. Since I had recently gained my powers as the result of a laboratory accident, and I was filled with hatred for the people of this city, I knew that this was my calling."

"But wait, there's more," he says to Adrien. "Let me do it again."

Prism holds his hand up to the light, and all the light is sucked into it. Prism holds out his hand to show a ball of colored light in it. "I can make the light take whatever form I wish, until I decide to release it."

...Ammy's still knocked out, and showing no signs of getting out of that state soon.

She might need actual medical attention at this point...

"Heh... that is impressive," Adrien said. "... is Ammy okay? I can't quite muster up the juice for a heal yet."

"I'm just saying," Adrien continued after a long and awkward pause, "I have a glimmer of an idea to get our stuff back, but if Ammy dies it's gonna be a lot harder."

Prism suddenly realizes the dire condition Ammy is in. "Oh, uh... Well, I'm mostly an eye doctor, but I guess I could take a look at her..."

The knight looks downward at Ammy.

Black Knight:   I only have offensive magic, not healing magic, so it's best I leave this to you lest I accidentally make things worse.   

He turns away as he mutters regretfully under his breath.

   Never thought I'd even have to use healing magic back in the day, so never bothered to learn it.   

"We just need to make sure she's stable and breathing, I think," Adrien said. "I do have healing magic — just, like I said, I'm in no condition to cast it just now. Maybe shouldn'ta jumped so far..." Anything you can do to help? I can tell your old friend where you are and she can heal Ammy. ... Are we that desperate yet? That's your call.
