Perhaps it's not such a common trope to begin with. I would support a renaming on the grounds of No New Stock Phrases.

Since the description says it doesn't have to be phlebotinum I think I'd prefer if a new title didn't have "phlebotinum" in it.
I'm going to suggest either Long-hidden Research or Well-kept Secret Research. It seems that the point of the trope is that some sort of secret research has been ongoing for years, and it's been pointed out that it doesn't need to involve phlebotinum. It seems like the use of "phlebotinum" in this case is as a placeholder, akin to the now-deprecated use of "trope" as placeholder, the latter of which led to the currently ongoing effort to rename Tropes For Dummies.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass. How about Accidentally Unmasqued? To tie into the other Masquerade tropes.
I forgot that it's technically a form of The Masquerade. It's closely related to Welcomed to the Masquerade, as the character has technically joined the Masquerade without realizing it's per se a secret world or society.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyI like Expositing the Masquerade.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Expositing the Masquerade works for me, too.
^ I wonder if this is too narrow since this trope is for masquerades and phlebotinums likewsie.
Well Tropes Are Flexible and we don't always put everything in the name.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyWe could have the flexibility in the title by naming it something like Expositing The Fantastic.
Titles crowner?

"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanI made a crowner here.
EDIT: Hmm... it doesn't seem to be logging my votes. I thought crowners were (mostly) working again?

There's a problem with the system, with ATT/Bugs/Crowners. I can't vote either.

Recent changes to the site codes means I can vote again.
Link to TRS threads in project mode here.Resetting clock.
"For a successful technology, reality must take precedence over public relations, for Nature cannot be fooled." - Richard FeynmanWell, I still can't vote in the crowner, but Expositing The Fantastic is up to 5 votes. Is that consensus range? It would be for Image Pickin'.
IP doesn't have a high consensus threshold due to less people going there and the fact that changing an image is a less major change than anything TRS does.
If a tree falls in the forest and nobody remembers it, who else will you have ice cream with?I think the Image Pickin' reference was because TRS crowners are mislabeled as Image Pickin' crowners, not because of anything actually on IP. That's a bug that popped up after the 1.8 update.

Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.Since people can't consistently vote in crowners, we should probably do a forum-side vote rather than an anonymous one. If the people who don't want Expositing The Fantastic cannot vote, then it'll stay in a 5:0 ratio until the glitch is fixed.
I'm in favor of Expositing The Fantastic, tbh.
Look at all that shiny stuff ain't they prettyMe Too!. Does that 5:0 ratio include your own vote?
Join the Five-Man Band cleanup project! So what is consensus range for TRS, then?
That's not what I meant at all. I brought up IP because IP has clearly defined guidelines for crowners / voting, and TRS doesn't seem to.
Sounds good to me.
Expositing The Fantastic works for me, too.

Ah, my bad. The Image Pickin' label on the crowner was just what came to mind at the time; while I've posted on IP, I don't post there as often as on TRS.
Patiently awaiting the release of Paper Luigi and the Marvelous Compass.
Crown Description:
Vote up for yes, down for no.
I originally asked this in ATT here.
We Have Been Researching Phlebotinum For Years has an unwieldy title and it only has 39 wicks and 73 inbounds despite the fact that it was created in 2010.
I think it's fair to call for a rename, as the trope is clearly underperforming. I think the length and sentence-like nature of the name are the primary reasons for this problem.
