Super Smash Bros Ultimate (SPOILER Thread)

I'd be fine with either of them.

Spyro, Crash, Doomguy and Steve? are my logical guesses for inclusion. Geno is my silent hope.

I'm not taking that leak seriously, but I wouldn't complain if it were true; I wouldn't mind a Tales character (Lloyd or otherwise) and Crash is another character on my personal Smash wish-list. As is Spyro for that matter.

And truth be told, at this point I won't really care if Steve makes it into Smash since the Microsoft character(s) I was hoping for are already in.

What, you're telling me that there's currently only 2 DLC slots left?!

At this point I'm actively rooting against any rumors that don't have any female characters.

It wouldn't have been such a huge deal for me if they hadn't actively chosen to screw over the Dragon Quest heroines.

My picks are pipe dreams frankly (namely Sora and a Disgaea representative)

My likelier choices are Octoling, Lip, Ashley and Hector, and I say that only because Nintendo already owns their respective I Ps (considering that the DLC seems to be full guest fighter mode here).

INB 4 we get a second fighters pass

Yeah now that I think about it, the DLC does seems to lack playable women of any sort.

I've said it before, my dream picks are Dante and Rayman.

For my "out there" pick it's Scorpion.

My rooting for them picks are either Crash or Spyro. I'm fine with either of them. My pie in the sky pick is Monokuma. Also, I'd be perfectly fine with Scorpion getting in as the true Western-pandering DLC pick.

Octoling is only going to get in if they make DLC echo fighters (and if they did that, at most they should charge a buck for them). As good as Octo Expansion was for Splatoon 2, and even accounting for all the different weapon loadouts you could give (like making the specials be Autobomb, Splat Scope, Inkjet, and Baller), I don't think they'd bother with making a whole new set for them (this is based on the fact that Dark Pit also could have just as easily gotten an entire unique loadout based on the weapons from Kid Icarus Uprising, yet he's stuck as an echo fighter too).

I still think a Tales protagonist is most likely... and while I want Yuri, there's a pretty solid argument for many others. In fact, accounting for the "no female DLC characters" issue, plus the fact that it'd be both easy to imagine and fairly unique, I'm starting to think Colette from Tales of Symphonia would be a way better choice. Among other things, she's probably the one most capable of wrecking everything if used right.

I think Velvet's more likely than Colette, since not only is she a defacto lead, but her game is also the most recent mainline entry. Or they could even pull a Roy or Corrin and have the Arise leads to the Tales rep with a similar dual character setup to Ice Climbers.

That's when they pull a Marth and drop Cress in. Cue complaints from everyone.

For a second there, I thought you were talking about the Gym Leader from Pokemon Black and White. That'd piss off a lot of people.

I really doubt we're getting steve, it would be weird to put in another microsoft rep right after we get BK.

Unfortunately we won't know that for absolute certainty until December, so expect Steveposting to continue onward.

Let's see, Joker + Morgana, Luminary + Slime, Banjo + Kazooie, the only logical next choice is Lin + Tatsu.

Or Crash Bandicoot with Aku Aku

Or Spyro with Sparx

Or Estelle with Joshua.

So, a question I have after a conversation with a friend. If Lara Croft were to get into Smash, which version would you prefer, classic or modern?

I'd prefer classic, since I think the twin pistols and her generally more stylish demeanour would fit smash better than the gritty realism of her modern version, and I think the classic version is more iconic. You could also include the legendary artefacts she encountered in the games, like the Dagger of Xian, etc.

However, the modern version is the more recent, and thus probably the more relevant of the two.

This leak has yet to be debunked by the way.◊

Considering Metroid has been delayed, it's unlikely we will see Sylux.

And the ads for Three Houses don't focus on Edelgard much at all.

Also, I'm thinking if she gets in, Lara would have a modernized take on her original appearance, like Simon and Banjo-Kazooie.

The date of that leak would've been around when we knew waaaaaaaaay less about Three Houses, right? Byleth and Edelgard were the only two named characters that had spoken at the time, so everyone assumed she was the deuteragonist.

As of now we know Edelgard is the leader of one of the titular three houses, thus I doubt any sort of promo material (be it in Smash or otherwise) would give her a focus over the other two and thus imply one of the houses is the default/canon/more important one. So...

Certain leaks make me think that she could end up taking a slightly more impact on the plot than the other two, but yeah, all three are being billed as having roughly equal importance.

Well for all we know the leaker could've just had the names mixed up and thought Byleth was the one named Edelgard.
