I keep feeling frustrated that the belt scroll beat'em'up scene kinda stagnated so long without evolving too much and died just as a few really good ones that expanded on the formula hit the scene, specifically Battle Circuit, Sengoku 3 and Alien vs. Predator (Capcom). I'm sure this game will be a proper evolution of SOR that will take the best parts of all the previous ones while undergoing the increased depth the Fighting Game genre benefited from.

Bleye knows Sabers. So, just wanted to ask, which characters would you guys like to see return in this game the most? Me, I want Roo/Victy.
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Adam and/or Skate, as they were my mains, and Max because his obscene throw damage was too good.
Honestly I got really spoiled by the Streets of Rage remake so anything that doesn't have at least the core 6 (Adam, Blaze, Max, Skate, Adam, Dr Zan) will be a little disappointing to me.
Mostly hope Max gets in, or another powerhouse like him.
I'd like Adam, Skate, and Max on the Heroes side.
Adam could be a more subdued Mighty Glacier with a focus on punching and kicking fast, despite walking slowly. Max would be a pure grappler who did significant damage with even one punch. I'd like Zan too, but perhaps he'd be best Saved for the Sequel? Admittedly I don't know enough about the game to say?
On the villains side, Mr. X and Shiva.
I just want all the playable characters to come back. I like playing as Roo & Ash, it was a very diverse group

The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests.Looks like no running/rolling? Bad choice if true.
Embedded:
Eh, it's still in development. Maybe they get to that soon.
I hope this game gets more intel at E3. I want to learn more about the characters. Who's new? Who's coming back?

HOLY SHIT, YOKO SHIMOMURA'S IN THE MUSIC TEAM!!!
The storm has now resided, the wolf now rests. That's a dream team of composers, holy shit.
Naganuma in particular I'm really looking forward to hearing fromb for SOR. He's known for his more offbeat stuff but he brings it when he needs to in any category.
Yeah they're going HAM on the soundtrack.
Bleye knows Sabers.Great as Shimomura's work is, she's definitely not the on the short list of composers I'd pick for SOR's sound.
She did compose most of the classic Street Fighter 2 tracks back in the day and I know she'll do great, but I get the feeling her and Naganuma's stuff are going to stand out in stark contrast to everyone else.

At least Naganuma has an extensive background in Electronic Music.
Or maybe she does too. Idk, I'm not overly familiar with SFII's music.

Jesus, not to knock down the game but all this for Streets of Rage? Now I'm really hoping the game sells well.
Streets of Rage had music so good Koshiro's name is on all 3 title screens.
Shimomura is probably the most mainstream composer here, too, and since she and Koshiro are apparently drinking buddies it probably didn't take too much to convince her to contribute. Maybe she offered since SOR 2 in particular was he and his sister's brain child and she wanted to help a friend out, who knows.
Cherry Hunter is the third playable character.
She's Adam's daughter, making her Skate's niece.

Bleye knows Sabers. Gonna need to fix that link.
Edit: While I was posting too. You're quick.

One Strip! One Strip!Shiva is in as at least a boss, too. I wonder if Cherry is the only one that can run.
Now I want to see a late 20s/early 30s Skate trying to be the cool uncle in cutscenes.
Hmmm not sure how I feel about cherry.
Adam's daughter seems kinda cool but the guitar gimmick seems...idk? She feels out of place oddly enough.
Oh god no, looks like cherry's run is exclusive to her.
Hype for game just dwindled a bit. I'm starting to wonder if this team really gets the series.

2 was a little slow, but players discovered so much tech and combo potential through exploiting glitches and general mastery of the game that it's still the most deep canonical SOR.
It's also the fan favorite, so using it as at least a technical baseline is good to see, though I'd be down with implementing most of 3's changes in measured amounts so it at least looks more impressive than 2 did.
