[up]They were also on a couple episodes of Roadster Racers too and made a couple appearances in the Mickey Mouse 2013 shorts.

Course dunno if who will voice Jose in other media with Rob Paulsen claiming he would no longer voice him the previous year due to recent politics. Could it be Eric Bauza or Bernadrdo de Paula who take over as his voice in other media?

If they're going with matching ethnicity, I'd say Bernardo De Paula or any other Brazilian-American actor could play Jose. Eric Bauza is a Canadian-American voice actor of Filipino heritage, not exactly connecting to Brazil in any way.

I mean, Rob hasn't voiced Jose in years anyway. They had at the point of his last role phased Rob out of everything Jose related but the preschool shows.

Which suits me just fine. I adore Rob Paulson but he wasn't ever a good fit for Jose.

[up][up]The whole white actors stepping down from voicing ethnicity characters (it's why so many ethnic characters on Simpsons and Family Guy are getting recast).

Interesting that Panchito was always voiced by actors of Latin American descent (Joaquin Garay and Jaime Camil are Mexican-American, Carlos Alazraqui is Argentine-American and Arturo Del Puerto is Puerto Rican-American), but only two of José's voice actors are actual Brazilians (José Oliveira and Bernardo de Paula), whereas Stan Freberg, Rob Paulsen and Eric Bauza aren't even Hispanic.

Remember when Scrooge made a cameo in the penultimate episode of the show? He wasn't originally going to appear, but Matt Danner couldn't resist the joke pitch. He also said it was intentional that he looked near identical to how he was in the 1987 Duck Tales.

The theme song was originally going to be 1 minute long, but it was shortened to 30 seconds due to wanting to focus more on the story.

Apparently, a trophy with Xandra appeared in some sort of mobile game. I don't really keep up with gaming news, but she is the first character specific to this series to appear in a project outside of it.

That's Disney Heroes: Battle Mode. It's pretty well known at this point for making a point of including things from practically every Disney product imaginable.

This isn't the first time that game has featured something from a series or movie everyone figures Disney cares absolutely nothing about.

Should there be an entry for "Unexpected Character" in that regard?

The game already has an Unexpected Character entry. Though from that picture, Xandra isn't a character in that game, but is represented by a badge - which is a thing you can put on characters to make them stronger.

A few months late, but since somebody brought up 101 Dalmatian Street being very short-lived and finally debuted in the U.S. market alongside Legends of the Three Caballeros still bums me out. I really loved the new characters in the series and really loved the art style. Shame it got cancelled. :(

Yeah, I thought that series had some real potential and I really liked a lot of the cast, but a combination of timing, bad exposure and lack of investment from the company just caused it fade away before it really had a chance.

[up] Heck, I remember Disney was promoting the heck out of 101 Dalmatian Street in the United Kingdom months before it debuted on Disney Channel UK. Various buses in London were overlayed with characters from the series and was even given it's own art book.

I imagine that they didn't think that it was worth the investment to continue it due to Covid or something like that? Or it wasn't as successful as they wanted either one to be, which is a shame cuz 101 Dalmatians has been underrepresented since the original cartoon and the Three Caballeros have gotten essentially nothing but cameos in other cartoons over the years.

Maybe Disney didn't see it as a successful show given the poor ratings on Disney XD averaging about 38,000 (even Ducktales, Big Hero 6, and Disney XD premieres of Amphibia and Owl House do better) and not doing well enough on Disney Plus (it didn't really trend after all).

Or more cynically, the fact it doesn't use kid protagonists (sure April, May, and June are there but they don't have as fleshed out personalities as say Huey, Dewey, and Louie on Ducktales 2017) like their Disney TVA shows for Channel and XD may have played a factor in being screwed over.

[up][up][up][up] Even stranger is that when "101 Dalmatian Street" was brand new, the series never got mentioned or acknowledged in the United States, Canada and other countries (outside of some countries that begun airing the show) by Disney until late 2019 (via a social media post from one of the voice actors confirming the series to hit Disney+). I still remember when 101 Dalmatian Street was first announced sometime in late 2017 alongside Western Animation/Amphibia and The Owl House (before The Owl House was delayed to another year) but Disney decided to wait until early 2020 for American audiences to watch it legally on Disney+ (before suddenly airing on cable a year later possibly to promote Cruella).

Especially knowing Disney was going all in on turning 101 Dalmatians into a franchise after the success of the 1996 live-action adaptation (which gave the original animated film a resurge in popularity with the public) during the late 1990s and early 200s. The original film gained a popular 1997 animated series, followed by a few video games, a direct-to-video sequel, and the 1996 film gained a sequel called "102 Dalmatians" (which also gained a video game on the PS1). So the announcement on Disney making a second animated series based on "101 Dalmatians", yet Disney was very quite on the 2018 series until recently felt very fishy.

As a person growing up in the late 1990s and early 2000s, Disney was pushing hard on the "101 Dalmatians" alongside Winnie the Pooh when it comes to public attention. Heck, I still own a 1996 snow globe featuring Pongo, Perdita, and some of the puppies in my room. Hell, Disney was actually planning on giving the franchise treatment to The Aristocats (such as two cancelled animated project ("The Aristocats: the Animated Series" from 2003, and "The Aristocats II") after taking notice of the general public suddenly showing interest to the original movie.

Yeah if anything its main issue was releasing it piecemeal in other regions instead of all at once.

Yeah I never got why a seemingly worldwide-appeal show is limited in release.
