I'm creating a story/webcomic, as I've detailed at https://tvtropes.org/pmwiki/posts.php?discussion=15223282240A79443800&page=1#1

As I'm adding characters, I've decided to go with two types of character, The Spook and The Fixer.

The characters are presented as if they were a work page's Characters' list folder just for relevance and convenience.

    Rebecca aka "Becky"

Tropes applying to Becky:

    Julia aka "Jules"

Tropes applying to Julia:

  • Mixed Ethnicity: 1/2 Indian, 1/2 British-South African, and born in the U.S.
  • Multiethnic Name: Julia (Latin first name) and Indian surname.
  • Screw the Rules, I Have Connections!: Somehow manages to have connections to interesting people.
  • The Fixer: Of a more benevolent kind. However, it's not her day job, she has a more responsible one.
  • What the Hell Is That Accent?: Born in Baltimore, Maryland to an Indian-American dad, and a British-Indian-South African mom, and speaks with an accent that sounds South African, a bit Southern (if Maryland can be considered a southern state) American and partially Mancunian.

I would appreciate any advice on how to write characters that are The Spook and The Fixer more effectively.

I think that really depends on what their role in the story is, and what kind of story it is. Both of those archetypes can take many different forms, and the characters have personalities separate from their archetype.

They should have sent a poet.
