Well that makes sense.
I guess it also makes sense that they don't have 2 or 3 on the list either.
One Strip! One Strip!Oddly enough 2 and 3 did get a GCN release, just not an enhanced one.

Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. So, even though there are barely any differences between both, what do you think is the remake's canon path? Claire A/ Leon B or Leon A/Claire B?
Uni catI personally think Path B requires way too much Suspension of Disbelief
As someone who never played the original, Leon A/Claire B.
It makes more sense for Leon to meet up and work with his fellow police officer and it makes more sense for Claire to take out G due to her connection with Sherry.

This song needs more love.I guess 7 is too much for a Switch, right? I remember hearing about a Cloud based version.
Granted after RE Make 2 it is still the clear oddball of the timeline with its first person view, good voice acting and Hillbilly Horrors feel, but damn if it ain’t fun. Just finished the chainsaw duel, and the fact that the game has a chainsaw duel speaks wonders.

You can stream it on the Switch in Japan.
Long story short it's a response to the Ship Tease added to the remake between Leon and Claire.
Will it be the HD rerelease of REmake and Zero which let you play with non-tank controls?
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerI thought the tank control were in the HD collection to begin with?
Yes, the tank controls were in the HD collection, but it added the option of playing with non-tank controls (which I found to be a massive improvement).
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faerWow, I read that in the complete opposite way
What an interesting add on.
I never understood why people hate the tank controls. They make perfect sense with the static camera. When the camera pulls a 180 on the next scene, you don't have to adjust your hands to the new orientation at all like you do with traditional controls, or end up with a situation where you're holding left and your character is running upwards.
You can certainly defend them that way in terms of technical limitations for PS1 games, but modern analogue stick movement is a very different game (haha) to what was possible back then (note that the original DMC on PS2 went with full 3D controls, yet also had fixed camera angles).
As the RE2make has proven, having a control scheme which makes moving your PC easier doesn't in any way detract from a sense of being overwhelmed. On the other hand, clumsy controls overwhelm gameplay to the point where it becomes the main appeal. Tank controls just don't make sense any more.
TV Tropes's No. 1 bread themed lesbian. she/her, fae/faershigmiy: That's not what tank controls are.
Tank controls specifically refers to a scheme where you can't move and turn simultaneously (like an old-timey tank). Such a thing is probably necessary if playing with a D-pad, but the GameCube introduced a control system that uses an analogue stick with static backgrounds. Pressing the stick forward still causes your character to move in the direction they're facing, but now they can move in a circle and turn even when running (like a modern tank).
Ukrainian Red CrossDevil May Cry was real-time 3D and thus able to have the camera move gradually to different angles. This allowed you you adjust your inputs as the camera moved so your character would keep moving in the direction you're holding. The pre-rendered backgrounds of the original games, REmake, and RE0 can't do that, there's just cuts where all of a sudden your viewing angle is completely different with no transition and suddenly the direction your character is moving could be completely different from what it was before. And I didn't say anything about the controls affecting the tension.
...What? You can absolutely move and turn at the same time with tank controls. It's been that way since the first release of the first game.

Yeah, the original RE games did let you move forward and turn at once. The only thing was the turning while moving was a bit stiff.
Remember, these idiots drive, fuck, and vote. Not always in that order. It's because tank controls don't feel as intuitive or smooth to play with. That's literally it.
I don't have that much of a problem with the older games but that's because I can accept it as a limitation of the time that the games were designed around.

Tank controls are unironically the best fit for survival horror and I will fight anyone who says otherwise.
In days gone by they contributed the feelings of powerlessness and vulnerability.
Now they just feel clunky and unfair.
